I just love when someone takes the time and effort to educate peers. Thank's a lot Sir !
My pleasure!
Great video! Straight to the point, easy to understand and thanks for the tips & tricks. Changed a lot of parts (that needed it anyway) and did a diagnostic on my element using the ac buttons and got the DTC for A Problem in the Air Mix Control Linkage Door, or Motor. This video popped up so I’m hoping that’s the issue. 🤞 it’s not the compressor
Great video! Thank you! Going home to replace the actuator in my wife's civic. You just saved me a lot of hassle.
Glad it helped
You might want to add a few keywords to this one, in the title and video description and tags, like "Honda Civic", etc, so Google will have a handle on what you're showing. Click the tab for channel content, then click 'details', click "show more", and you can change all that. It's humbling to realize that the vast majority of views come from search engines like Google, and they rely on a word search to find the info people are looking for. So the more words that line up with your target audience the easier it will be to find. This kind of specific info you're showing is really valuable for people with the exact car. If enough people watch for more than a couple of minutes, you end up in the first page of the search engine, and view counts go way up.
Thanks for the advice I will do it. I’m still learning. My goal is to do this full time in a few years, so I will take all the advice I can get. Thanks in advance
@@AutoRepairTips757 Pete, you've got an excellent channel, it deserves far more views than it has so far. When you make a new title, think about what an average nonmechanic would type into the search engine. He won't know what a mode actuator or even a blower motor is, but he will be looking for something like "how to fix car air vent" or something like that. One of the biggest surprises I found was that what I think are my best videos consistently get the fewest views. You just have to shrug and know that you do it for reasons other than becoming popular, ha ha.
I will make some changes to that video and hopefully get some better results, I’m hoping to turn this into some retirement income. When I hit 20 thousand subs I’m going to start a podcast, I have already started making a studio in my house.
This video deserves more appreciation!
Thanks
Perfect. I always thought i just needed a new condensor.come to find out its the blend door. When i used to stop at a light she would warm up drastically. Come to find out if i adjust the temp then back to cold irmt seals itself back into recurculate mode. (Max air) . I Still wna replace it eventually, now i can. Thanks
It's all about what tools you have. I replaced mine today, had stubby Philips screw driver and 1/4" drive racket with a 7mm socket. I have big hands so reaching in is not easy. Cut off one of the tabs on the top of the motor for easier to the top screw, that was a game changer. Had to go under the dash to get better access to put in the bottom 2 screws wasn't easy but do able. I took apart the old one cleaned the contact points which is on the back of the biggest gear, it was nasty with grease and dirt and it started working again. Put in the new one because I didn't trust the old one.
I got mine, with the mounting bracket, and the actuator wheel for something like 22-25 dollars on Amazon.
Thanks i noticed my actuator doesn't move and its stuck im going to see if i can find a way to getbit back to cool
Thank you for uploading this video! I ended up just unplugging, cleaning the connector and plugging it back in and it works!
can you do a video on the right side actuator, my recirculation door motor seems to be making sound but the door is only moving half way through.
Same thing with me no ac on and there’s a clicking noise coming from the right side of the cabin filter but when I unplugged the cable there(green one) it goes away. Trying to find out what the solution and what the issue is
Is the actuator the same as the blend door actuator?
Yes
SWEET Got to change it out today
Hope it helped
Thank you for making these videos.Great explanations .
Glad you like them!
Muchísimas gracias amigo
Thanks
Great Instructional Vid ... Thanks :)
You're welcome!
Thank you , that was very helpful . Gracias señor
Daughter has a 2000 Honda Civic LS and I'm getting ready to take a look at it for this problem.
Any suggestions?
just take your time
Fuse #36 in fuse box under steering wheel ?
Does the door have to be in a certain position when you install? My cars stuck on blowing towards me . when I put mine on it moves when I plug it in and turn the car on but then it stops and when I change buttons nothing happens still stuck
you need to calibrate it
@@AutoRepairTips757 how do you do that?
so my car only blows hot air and in another video that i watched the guy said to turn your temp nob from hot to cold and if the actuator doesnt move then its bad. but my thing is, is this the actuator hes talking about or is does this one only control where the air blows? because when i hit one of the buttons to change where the air goes then the actuator moves, just not when i change the temp.
A lot of cars have three actuators one is for hot and cold, one is for the air temp, and one is for recycling and fresh air. So depending on what problems you have with depending on what actuator is bad.
Is this very similar to a 98 Honda civic
not sure ill check in the am
Thanks for sharing sir 🙏
hope it helps
Heres one for ya. 2014 civic si and its stuck on heat. Switches modes but blows nothing but hot even when its set to vent or ac.
That would be the blend actuator. Sits on the driver side.
@@jrc56719 I remapped/tuned this morning and now its working. I am going to replace the actuator anyway. Looks like its right behind the glove box so shouldnt be to big of a PITA. Thanks for the advice. Same conclusion I came to.
so I bought a new actuator and it still doesn’t work. Could there be a fuse or relay or something that could be the problem
Skill issue
At that point you have to take it to a mechanic, do not mess with the electrical part of it
Fuse #36 in fuse box under dashboard ?
He dropped it...😂 I was working repairing one of those on a hyundai sonata and ended up tearing the whole dashboard apart to replace the whole HVAC box assembly. So my boss told me, forget it and car was sent back
Okay but what is the base price to pay someone to fix this for me lol I don't have the tools nor skill to not mess something up. I however don't want to be overcharged
