This video 100% works! I was using the Safe Exam Browser for a mock test and it showed a few errors, then my PC started facing these issues. I even tried restoring to a previous savepoint but Windows Restore hanged (as expected). Figured it was something to do with the registry files but wasn't sure how to fix. Followed this step by step and it solved the problem. Thanks a lot!
