How to fix windows won't shut down properly | Laptop power light and fans stays on after shutdown

- Here I will show how to solve windows 10 shutdown problems like windows 10 laptop power light stays on after shutdown or fan running after shutdown
If you are facing windows 10 won't shut down properly then follow these steps properly to fix lights and fans not turning off when shut down. This video will also work for windows 7 or windows 8
Step 1:
The first one is the most common step that you must have encountered a lot of times while looking for a solution if you're facing this problem so I am not going to go in detail about this one.
Go to power option and turn off fast start up option.
Step 2:
1. Press windows button -- search for device manager and open it.
2. Look for system devices option and double click on it.
3. Look for Intel(R) management Engine Interface -- right click and open properties
4. Look for driver version
5. If the version starts with 9.5 the you're good to go the the 3rd step if not then perform the following steps.
6. Google Intel management engine interface 9.5 for windows 10.
7. Select your laptop's brand's website like mine was dell.
8. Download the driver -- open it and install it.
9. After installation you might be asked to restart so do that.
10. After restart check for the Intel(R) management Engine Interface driver version again using above steps -- now the version should start from 9.5 ( mine was 9.5.24.1790) .
Step 3:
1. Press windows button -- type command prompt -- right click -- select run as administrator. (Doing this is important and simply opening command prompt from run isn't gonna work)
2. type -- powercfg.exe /hibernate off -- hit enter
3. type-- exit -- hit enter
Step 4:
Turns out the boot order in the BIOS matters. Set your BIOS order in correct order. Go inside the BIOS and load the default settings to get the original boot order back. Please share if issue is resolve with it..

Can you help me about the NOVO button of the Lenovo laptop? During off state the Laptop automatically switches on with the NOVO menu and due to this the battery drains out and excessive heat occurs without my Knowledge because the lid is closed always, i found out its happening because once i forgot to turn the lid down and i came to know about this. All drivers, bios, windows 10 is updated till date. And also a new problem has emerged after this, the laptop shuts down automatically while working and restarts to NOVO menu, sometimes it happens in loop for 30 minutes but sometimes when i work continue for 5-6 hrs automatic shut down doesn't happen. So i am confused what's the matter. Please help

I am not able to find the intel (R) management interface in my laptop, as I think its isn't downloaded in the laptop. so may you please tell me what I should do next to solve these issue, and other methods namely 1 and 3 I have tried but I haven't received any appropriate results which can solve my these problem in laptop.
As of the new Update for Windows, M$ have removed the "Fast start-up" option from Power settings so its not longer visible there.
my intel engine management interface not getting updates above 8.0.1 how to do it i have downlaoded 9.5 for leneovo tried installing it manually says inter managemnet not availabl while updating from disk management also gives nothing fruitful

hi sir, i have done all the above mentioned...but i am still facing the same issue....the fan and light still on after shut down.....not only that, my pc will auto turn on when i switch on the power plug (without pressing the Start button).....

In my case not only my fan stays on after shut down, sometimes i. Can't turn on my computer as well.. then hours later it turn ons. Some people saying it might be a problem of mother board now after watching this vdo im confused. What do u think??

Hello brother, my laptop fans keep running after shut down and they keep running till the battery is full drained. ( All night 12-13 hours). I cant switch on the laptop while the fans are running. It becomes very difficult to switch on laptop when i connect charger the charging light is also not shown, nor of power. ( After trying 20-30 times when it shows charging light and i switch on laptop only then it starts).Please suggest solution thanks on advance

@@mtalhaasif I don’t remember the specific one now. But do remember updating each driver below the network drivers. One at a time. I restarted the computer as well.

Thanks a lot. Very good video. It helped me. I had shutdown issue with my desktop computer. When I shutdown, the power light was on. It went in weird state. When power was switched off and on computer did not start. I cleared CMOS then it started. When shutdown again same issue. So I followed your first method and it worked for me. 👍🏼

@@ashu3128 I am having challenges recollecting the challenge. Last I remember I was trying to figure out the power settings on my desktop Windows 10 computer. I now have the following settings and I detail them for you to replicate; please note I have a desktop
1. Open Settings/ System/ Power and Sleep
2. Display is turned off in 3 minutes of idle
3. Computer goes to sleep in 10 minutes
4. Additional power settings; customize the High Performance plan and turn Hybrid Sleep ON and Hybernate never and apply changes
Created a task in Task Scheduler to shut down the PC if idle for 1 hour. I have a SSD and the performance is now as expected, no more long boot times. Also want to inform you, did a fresh instal of the Windows 10 OS on the C: drive - which might have made all the difference. All my personal data is on a HD and not on the C: drive, so even if Windows breaks I can still get access to my data all I would need to do is reinstal windows. What exactly is your challenge?

I never faced such problem before but i put SSD In place of dvd drive and installed window 10 on it now i am getting this problem and also desktop icon positions change at every boot. Also if it go to sleep the screen remain black. So much problems. I tried every solutions but no benefits. On next few boot s it come back.
