    Did Ford give you all some stock footage also? Multiple videos showing the same footage of the Blue model.

      Thanks for watching and comments. Yep Ford supply b roll footage of the event that we can all use. It saves a lot of time not having 15 or so journalists stopping to record drive bys etc. They are also there to do piece to camera (no need for selfie sticks haha)

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and comments. Hard to say about reliability. Ford make great engines and the gearbox is being spread across many of their range. So I would say all good.

    Any idea if we in nz can get the 18 inch mag option on the titanium spec like they can in Australia?

    How does the Everest compare to the Discovery?

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching and your comments. The Disco is a different animal. More refined inside and up a level or two with technology. They are both very capable on and off road but I think it's case of getting what you pay for and of course what you are going to use it for.

    • @edgrigsby8610
      @edgrigsby8610 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest difference is the Everest won't constantly be breaking down. Lol

  • @solayao385

    Why does the everest on the thumbnail got a different bumper than any other everest?

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Yohanne, thanks for watching and comments. I've had a look and I can't see the difference. Maybe model (we had the top of the line and base models out there) or light play?

  • @mathsunmasked56
    @mathsunmasked56 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hows the day-to-day acceleration compared to the 3.2 4wd? I see the 2.0 has more torque and HP at higher rpm than the 3.2, but maybe this difference is not apparent around town, but it may be felt when overtaking at high speeds.

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching and comments. The acceleration is more progressive than push back in your seat. Turbos spool down low so didn't feel much lag. It's no sportscar but I don't think it will let you down any time soon

    should i buy this? or get the old one with big discount?
    can i upgrade a 2018 ford everest to look like this new one? if yes what are the parts that i will buy to make the old one look like this?

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The new one has had its price reduced I believe. It's more about the engine, gearbox and suspension rather than the cosmetics (very little to change there really - bumpers and grille). I'd go new given the choice.

    • @arnoldpawikan8186
      @arnoldpawikan8186 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TarmacLife well if its cheaper i would go with the new one too, its just the old one is on big discounts, its like buying the titanium plus with the price of trend.

    Sorry noob question, how is the 2L more powerful than the old 3.2L engine?

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and comments - it's all to do with the Bi-Turbo's. More power and Torque derived from smaller cc's. Aside from EV's (Electric Vehicles), this is the way for most engines now. Hope that helps

  • @millardkeyes5187
    @millardkeyes5187 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    19" and 20" tyres are only suited to roads. Australian offroad is tough and road tyres will see a broken vehicle in no time. This track would have been ok for even a 2wd with difflocks - naturally an AWD would have been enough as well. Anything more than that is asking for trouble even in the Ford without proper offroad tyres.

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. This was more of a launch display to give insight to the Everest's capabilities. In truth, this SUV will spend most of its time on Tarmac and never go near the great outdoors. Off road tyres (and corresponding wheels) would increase its capabilities greatly. This was quite a taxing trip for many so called AWD SUV's though.

    I just don’t like the style of the mags and the front grill. But great performance.

    • @titaniumquarrion9838
      @titaniumquarrion9838 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are buying one to use off-road as well as on it's a mute point because you'd be running A/T wheels and a bull bar I imagine....I certainly am :-)
      The 20' mags and the Titanium in general isn't what I recommend anyway. Get the trend. It's 11K cheaper and is simply devoid of the pointless features like sunroof, heated seats, up-market trimmings etc. In short the Titanium is aimed at soccer moms and urban posers while the Trend actually has utility as a excellent all-round 4WD platform for touring, over-landing, towing etc without paying through the nose for gimmicky extras..
      Of course by the looks of things the Kiwi's are gettign the raw deal i f only the Titanium is available. Get a Trend and get it shipped across! A quick search shows shipping is less than 2K apparently. Of course they'd probably stiff them on import tax though I suppose....

    extra 200 km out of a tank really put a full load on this rainbow turbo and it will be working harder than a 3.2 do a towing test or a real world test and you will find its pooh

    • @TarmacLife
      @TarmacLife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and comments - tbh we didn't tow anything with it but the rating is up there. In real world driving, we have managed to travel excessively around the Northland area on a full tank - it would be good to compare with the 3.2L
