About this Video:
The Sumatra 2500 is one versatile PCP airgun. The large shot capacity, very accommodating 6 shot rotary magazine, and variable power means that the Sumatra can be dialed in to get the most accuracy with many different pellets. This rifle is really a great fit for target shooters and varmint shooters alike.

Pellet rifles, airguns, air rifles, bb guns, and airsoft airguns are a great way to develop good shooting skills and firearms safety. Airguns, BB Guns, & Airsoft guns are great tools for target practice, small game hunting, pest control, and maintaining firearms proficiency and discipline. Pellet guns are also great for just having fun shooting targets in the back yard and are much safer and less expensive to operate than traditional firearms. Fantastic grouping from an absolutely beautiful air rifle. Thanks Rick for showing it to us.
Please you need to revisit this airgun with the new H&N Slugs at full power.
they dont do quit aswell but im experimenting and testing h&n in .217 and.218
Man that's a nice looking gun! If weekends were spent hunting, I would find a way to buy one.
This man puts together excellent reviews.
I am through with my m- rod, I am buying the Sumatra in 25.
Thanks!
I’ve had so many, over 100 air guns from AZ Rapids, EDgun, Daystate, BSA, Evanix, Air Force, almost every major brand.
I still love tuned spring guns. But my .25 can spit .250” H&N FTT 20 grain Diabolos on 2-4 wheel to 50 grain solid core CB slugs 6 in 1/4” @ 40 yards.
I’m buying a NEW .25 & a new .22 as a lefty these are THEE best hunting, pesting, target, fun guns available. It’s threaded for 10x1mm which is only bad thing. Wish it was extended and 1/2x20tpi
I have this rifle in 2.5 god it's a beast love it
You loaded it wrong . the mag gets LOADED from the FRONT read the instructions !
I love this rifle, Need to get it now.
To Zeus Greek: The Sumatra is both louder and more powerful that the Galatian. It is also able to handle all manner of different pellets, where the Hatsan, having a narrow magazine, is limited to shorter pellets.
Cheers

Airgun Expert & Critic - Rick Eutsler / AirgunWeb please do the one on the airforce texan ur bsa scorpion 1200se got me to buy it and i wanna see a review on the airforce texan
bassman hunter - I hope to be able to get one sometime. Unfortunately Air Force will not support sending one to me. I may have to raise independent funds to get one and review it. We'll see.
Cheers
AGW
ok but if you can not get one for free well to bad
I'm a proud owner of a Sumatra and I get awesome grouping with my rifle every time. I've fitted mine with a moderator that cuts the sound down to nothing so no need for any ear defenders. Trust me you will not be disappointed with this rifle and as for the getting tired of the lever action... No way.
What kind of moderator did you get? Does it make it quieter even in high power?
looks great Rick...
Nice review Mr. Rick Eutsler.
Get the .25 cal, shoot's 48 grain wallow points, and makes pellets look like marsh mallows.
I love the Seneca air guns, but I wish there were after market laminated stocks. Boyds needs to get in the air rifle stock game.
Wtf it’s looks like a real rifle. That’s one scary looking rifle. How much does it cost?
Very cool
Man really love your web TV videos and your website, I'm strongly considering getting this rifle in .25 caliber, looking to hunt everything from squirrels to coyotes with it. My question would be what pellet or slug should I go with to get the best consistency out of it from 20-75yds?
For cast.. the Hunters Supply cast over at www.airgunproshop.com work best for me. The flat point for longer range, the hollow point for up close. The links are in the description.
Cheers

Hey Rick. Plz review the new Samyang Eagle Claw in 5.5. I have it and think it’s extremely underrated.
That's a great looking gun. If i were to ever buy a lever action for looks this may be the one. I know your a decent shot but sure was hoping to see better groupings at 50yrds for that price.
Thanks for your comments. 50 yards is a long shot for an airgun. To put 2 full mags (12 shots) into a 1.25" CTC group at 50 yards in the wind is pretty darn good for the gun and the shooter. I'm an average shooter so that should tell you how much better the gun actually is. I'm going to be doing more testing with the Sumatra. Maybe we'll find that perfect combination of pellet and power setting to get that group to under an inch. Cheers AGW
AirGunWeb
Ya know I took another look at the video. Didn't really notice you were pushing a 21grain pellet at 958fps. I think that may be just a bit to fast for that. That's alot stronger gun than i thought.
Rick, about time you shot that Sumatra. I have the carbine in .22. So, what you gonna do with that Tactical Sniper there, boss. Lol. I wanna play, too.
I'm thrilled to spend time with the Sumatra. It's so versatile I may never be truly "done" with it. :) I can't wait to get back to Havasu to get to work on the Evanix Sniper. I'm hopeful that it's going to shoot well.CheersAGW
AirGunWeb What cal did you get the sniper in? I have the .357 and love it. I have not had any issues with it yet. First day out of the box with a crap scope I was able to hold a 1" at 50 yards for 14 shots. I am going to be trying some solids in it soon.
Air Marksman I got the .25.. It has not done well and I sent it back. I may take a look at a larger caliber in the future. I believe it's got so much power that it's really better suited as a big bore vs small bore.
Cheers
AGW
I see you also get them in .20 cal
Greetings from Colombia ... I see interesting videos ... I got the Pintball tank and the hose for filling the PCP rifle ... I would appreciate if you could tell me where I can get all the accessories for filling ... Thanks
When you do your next review please use the eujin pellets. I'd love to see what the max f.p.e. This airgun is capable of. Right now I'm on the fence between the .25 caliber and the .22 calber sumatra.
I want to do brain shots on coyote within 50 yards. I just don't know which will have more penetration at that range. If you believe you would have that answer please fill me in.
Thanks you for your videos also. They help me decide which air rifles I purchase.
In the video, I was shooting the Sumatra on what many would coinsider as low power...just four turns on the power screw and I posted the numbers that I got. This is a very powerful rifle in both calibers. The .25 would be your best bet for hunting coyotes regardless of the pellet that you use. The .25 will have more than enough power to penetrate the skull and render a fatal shot. While many people have talked about coyote hunting with the .22, it would be best to use the .25 for sure one shot kills. If the EunJins shoot well, they will have more than enough penetration for your type of hunting in this rifle. If I revisit this video, I will consider trying some of them to see the results that I get.
Cheers,
AGW
Did you by chance try shooting JSB Exact Monster 25 gr pellets in the Sumatra? I couldn't get them to fit my magazine although others on airgun forums claimed the pellets fit their magazines with no problem.
I did not when I originally tested the rifle. If I revisit this rifle later, I just might test them.
Cheers,
AGW
Hey there Rick. What kind of gun is the tactical on the top left of video? Nice video!!
That is the Evanix Sniper in .25 cal. We'll be getting to that hopefully in April. It is one MEAN looking airgun!CheersAGW
Thanks Rick!
Shots per fill on high power ?
Is it louder than the marauder.25?
On lower power settings it's not too bad outside.. that's what you are hearing in the field tests.. too loud for inside. On high power, it will ring your bell. Marauder .25 sounds like someone opening a soda bottle compared to the Sumatra 2500.CheersAGW
Hello friends, hoy are you? that rifle pcp is more powerful than sumatra?
What’s the velocity for .177 and is it as loud as the .22?
What's the best pellet to use in the Sumatra 2500 .25 cal long version on high power , medium power, low power?
Ok do you think I could take yotes and meduim size hog if so wat rang would be realistc? By the way I love your reviews
Thanks for the kind words. Coyotes would seem to be doable with the right shot placement inside 35 yards. I'm not sure about hogs though. Keep your shots inside 35 yards to maximize impact energy.
cheers
AGW
How can I buy it online to india
Rick I'm thinking of getting a sumatra carbine .25caliber would like to know what kinda power she will put out with the eunjin 35gr and 43?
Never having shot the .25 I don't really know. If I had to make a guess, I'd say north of 60 FPE.. But, that's just a guess.
Cheers
AGW
Can you review the XS60C air rife from Flying Dragon.
If I can get on from Mike, I would be happy to try and fit it in.
Cheers,
AGW
So where can I order one?
Got one in .25 cal. Do you know where I can get a suppresser for it. As you know it's a little loud...
You can try www.tko22.com but I'm not sure if he makes one for them.
Cheers
AGW
Rick just got a Bam 50 PCP airguns fro Flying Dragon Airguns. Do you know about this pcp airgun ?
I do not have any experience with the Bam 50. I would contact Mike and see what he has to say about his rifle. He has been known to give out good info on the rifles that he sells.
Cheers,
AGW
I'll be getting this for long range hunting but say I'm plinking starlings at 80 yards what power should I have it on?
William Huckeba - there is no set rule.. find the pellet you want to use.. find the power setting at which it is most accurate and go with it.
Cheers
AGW
Thx
Has anyone shot piledrivers out of this gun?
How many psi does this gun hold?
The Sumatra has a 200bar fill pressure
cheers
AGW
Nice gun, but out of my price range.
what would you choose hatsan 95 or beeman rs2 dual caliber?
I'd choose hatsan 125
Hatsan Mod 95 all day long. Cheers AGW
Hey.may somebody help me? An Hatsan BT 65 in 25 cal. or Sumatra 2500 in 25 cal.?Thanks!
+Popa Mircea - very good guns both of them. also very different guns. You need to look at the features and benefits of each and then see which is best for you. Only you will know.
Cheers
AGW
Hi ,whats the velocity in setting" 4"?¿ thanks
lukes 2777 not sure.. would all depend on the pellet. what are you trying to find out?Cheers,AGW
the energy in set "4"
lukes 2777 Velocity will very with the pellet used. I would not know without testing. I don't have any immediate plans to take it out and test.
Cheers
AGW
That would be, "repeatable accuracy IN a breeze", LOL
what's the largest animal you think this could take? hypothetically, I am just curious to see what you guys think of it
+Alexander TheOriginalGreat - I would easily predator hunt, i.e. coyote, fox, etc. with this gun with the right pellets on high power.
Cheers
AGW
Airgun Expert & Critic - Rick Eutsler / AirgunWeb so if an easy kill on such an animal, I what do you think it could do on a kudu skull? Don'y bother asking how I know or where I found out, but there have been kudu's taking with a skull shot at 40m-60m with one of the gamo hunters, I think it was an IGT, it wasnt the hunter extreme, just a decent 1000fps rifle
Airgun Expert & Critic - Rick Eutsler / AirgunWeb I am just saying before you start thinking a bit, that it was not me nor anyone I have close relations to, nor did I approve of it, if the person had just missed the hit, then that poor animal wouldve sufered
+Alexander TheOriginalGreat - you are dealing the difference between "can" and "should." There are many instances where something CAN technically be done under perfect circumstances.. but any of the slightest of variations and that CAN turns into CAN'T. When folks ask me about what can or can't be taken with a particular airgun I always respond with what I believe would be an ethical use, not the extreme.
Cheers
AGW
Airgun Expert & Critic - Rick Eutsler / AirgunWeb same here, I see videos of pigs being shot with 900 fps guns, impressive, but you miss that shot by a mm and you are about as screwed as that animal
48 shots at 750 fps at lowest power set?
+Ivan Guerrero - Whatever I said on the video.. I think I just quit at 48. could have gone more I'm sure.
Cheers
AGW
+Airgun Expert & Critic - Rick Eutsler / AirgunWeb. in an other video ( penetration test) said that on lowest set power - crosman premiere at 450 fps.
+Ivan Guerrero - I just reviewed both videos.. on the pellet testing video the Crosman premier velocity was 525 to start and was probably on a full fill. On this video I was using the Air Venturi Regulated bottle which put the power more into the power curve than off the full fill in the other video. You'll get some dramatic variances as you come off a full, or possibly slightly over full pcp, i.e. partial valve lock. More than likely that was the cause of the discrepancy.
Cheers
AGW
Thanks
Cheers since Mexico
Hello
really hearing protection seriously??? yeah i dont even use hearing protection with my fire arms maybe its because ive been shooting since i was littleXD
I'm not sure how old you are.. but as youngster I played a lot of very loud music in bands and shot a lot of loud guns. As I've gotten older, and I'm now in my 40's, I want to keep what hearing I have left. It's not "fun" or "cool" to go deaf. Cheers AGW
Looks like people need to yell when talking with you...lol
what is the DB rating on this gun?
It varies based on power level.
Cheers
AGW
I understand that but what is its loudest db..
lets just say at the highest power setting?
j jacelon it would be 120+/-
cheers
AGW
what is your take on the comparison (in .177 caliber) between the Sumatra 2500 vs the Hatsan Galatian .. accuracy, db, feel, reliability, etc?
thanks for the Sumatra's db's
quanto q custa ?
