I made some of these tonight for the first time following this video. My 4 year old who is a very picky eater loved them. He almost ate the whole batch!
I cant wait to attempt to make this! I do have a question; when you are frying the plaintain (before they have been mashed), how long do you fry them before removing them from the pan?
@@mariscookingpr my mistake, you actually said the time in the video 😅 I'm not sure how I missed that. But I attempted it today and it came out great, thank you so much 😄
Re: tostonera press. I searched for one on Amazon and found one from Imusa and one from Bene Casa. As is my wont I read the reviews for both and a common complaint was that the press fell apart after a couple of uses. I'm curious as to how long you have had yours. Anyway I'll stick to my old way of making them with a spatula and cutting board. Nice video by the way. Shows how simple it is to make these tasty treats. I served some up last night with char siu roast pork tenderloin and roasted peppers. My sweetheart scarfed the tostones right up. 😺
Funny-my tostonera did not last long either! However, I saved the flat side and it is perfect. I use it to flatten the tostones and I can control how thin or thick I want them! Similarly to how you use your spatula. ☺️ The best tostoneras are the hand made ones!
Well you made it so simple for an old PR . like me to get it right the first time .. I've been only use to eating them never making them .. Mommy is not with us anymore. Thanks
