Watched this last night and I want to watch it again next week. While waiting for the movie, I saw a couple about my age, accompanied by their teenage son to the movie. Their son helped took their photo in front of the poster. Just like how I introduced the Scream movies to my daughter last year.

Absolutely loved it! Loved how the legacy cast is tied into the new cast! Worked magically!
Because I've been such a scream fan since I was 11 or 12 I also introduce scream to my 12 and 13 year old sons last year. We marathon them all last year so I took them to this new scream at the drive in and we didn't enjoy it as much as we hoped. We didn't find it as scary as it was said to be (maybe because the drive in isn't like at home with a loud volume and closed in room) but we were also a little disappointed with the killer reveal and the fact they killed off a fan favourite character. But we do intend to watch it again when it comes out on dvd.

What I love about Scream is how it pokes fun at itself and the genre and introduces a degree of dark comedy but also somehow manages to keep the actual horror and slasher mystery element. It’s fantastic and this movie was no different. A really good addition to the franchise that I think Wes would be special.
The opening scene quickly made this my new favourite Ghostface. Absolutely brutal.

This movie was everything that Halloween Kills wasn't, and what I was expecting out of Halloween. Great execution.

“I won’t sleep until he’s in the ground”…one of my favorite things about Sid in this movie is that these killings dont directly involve her but the idea and character of Ghostface is so tied to her that she NEEDS to get involved.

Absolutely LOVED this movie!! It was the perfect mix of humor, horror and nostalgia. It was a near perfect film and could be the perfect ending to the franchise or a jumping off to a new franchise.

@@daniel-mi7rv Exactly my point, we each have opinions. My theater was packed and people literally laughed and cheered throughout the film. It's ok if you didn't find humor in it. Takes nothing away from you. I did. As did many others. Hopefully the next one will be more your liking.

Scream 5 is so awesome in the behind the scenes 🔥
The funniest part for me is when they hear the scream from Stu's house and say "sounds about right" as calmly as if it's a daily occurrence.
I was never really worried about this movie being bad lmao but when I was sitting down in the theater I was thinking wait shit what if I don’t like it…. But boy I was wrong. This movie is everything if your a scream fan In my opinion. It was smart, brutal, fun, funny and scary. I had a few moments where I was scratching my head but overall LOVED this movie and appreciate what Tyler, Matt and the rest of the crew did with this film. GO SEE IT if you haven’t yet!
2:20 Dewey visiting Judy should have been kept in the movie... I hope they will bring out an extended cut or at least put the deleted scenes on it again.
I also noticed they took out the Shot with ghostface’ shadow on the bar wall during that scene. I was sad I didn’t see that.
@@logo.phobia7300 Yeah, I can rip that though from the promo's and stick it into the film easily. I hope they include everything into an extended cut though... cause the scream 4 I made was a lot of work (I have it on my channel if you're interested).
Unfortunately alot of scenes seem to have been cut to get it under 2 hours. Hopefully the blu ray will have an extended version.

This vid is gonna have a place in my heart and respect to Wes Craven for doing this for 20 years and he did a great job and i know everyone who was in this movie was doing this thing for Wes
Why is it that approx. 50% of "Scream" fans are incapable of spelling 'Sidney' (not Sydney) or 'Gale' (not Gail) correctly lol?
The only bad thing about Scream 5 was the choice of the killers and there motives. It was a huge SMH moment. Wes would’ve had a bigger twist in mind if he was here. Kevin Williamson should definitely write Scream 6.
Yeah but I think at the same time the killer's motive reflects this time towards us Scream fans cause' (SPOILER ALERT)
The killers were huge Stab Fans who are toxic and is kind of bit crazy ab the following Stab Movies so yeah it is kind of reflecting over the "Toxic Fandom" that is kind of hypocritical in some type of way that delivers a message about mixed-media, and how it symbolises these "Toxic Fan's" love for the movies just to make it better.
@@jamesk.9560 The movie basically pokes at itself and makes the mistakes that Mindy mentioned in her monologue. Many OG fans are pissed. The movie did feel legit hypocritical. “Toxic fandoms” are really just people who don’t want there favorite franchises get trashed for a cash grab while some general fans just soak up anything.
The movie is literally a retread of the 1st movie which isn't totally said throughout the movie like a billion times. Billy and Stu literally had 0 motivation either and were just insane so it made perfect sense for Richie and Amber to be predictable because Billy and Stu were predictable also. They made it a retread so they could develop the cast more to prepare for the next movie . Will admit though that I didn't really like Melissas acting because she was massively overshadowed by Jenna Ortega but that's fine because holy shit can Jenna act, the entire wheelchair scene had me so tensed up.
Motives are incidental, pure BS. Has been since the millennium.
I was kind of hoping the father that had left would suddenly come in or that gale was suddenly the killer
I love all the screams but this was great the effects have come along way especially with that neck scene wow, what I found strange was that this film made me feel a lot more emotional I got teary eyed at 3 deaths where as the other films I didn’t feel that sad maybe it was because the effects where less realistic idk.
Saw the film yesterday and I was on the edge of my seat and I don't cry at horror films but I sobbed at this but if you've seen it you'll know why, I would have changed one thing about the film but can't say in case people haven't seen it and don't want to spoil it lol.

A main character dies
This is the WORST film of the franchise. I went to see it w/ great expectations and what I got was laps around SCREAM 3... 30 mins into it, and I knew what was going to unfold.

Fun Fact: I’ve been a huge Scream fan since I was 12, but never got a chance to see any of the movies in theater. Heard about this movie early last year, and got sooo excited to see it opening weekend. The week leading up to it (I had the tickets for a while) I got COVID. Still haven’t seen it yet, cause I was recently diagnosed, and I keep seeing so many posts on social media about how much fun people had seeing it in big groups, and got posters, and all this stuff…. Really bums me out.

@@MoonFairyPunk203 I finally did! It was pretty good….just less fun, because a lot of the hype died down. A few friends of mine went opening weekend in packed theaters, everyone was cheering, clapping, and having a good time. When I went, I was in a theater with two other people 😂
When i was 9 was so into scream films, growing up i was still into the scream and i never got a chance to watch it in theaters till this new scream film came out, i felt honor to watch it in theaters and actually see a new Trilogy at this age 19.

I was really hoping they made Dylan Minettes Character the killer just because I know how good of an actor he can be , he was phenomenal at parts during 13 reasons why and in some others movies ive seen him in . Other then that I think it was a pretty good movie , probably better then the last 3 tbh , obviously isn’t touching the first
The one thing I never understood about this series is why these masks have never been outlawed in their universe. Sure the killer could have another mask but they all go for this particular one
And why they all use a tiny little buck knife. They could use a big ass machete or something and get a one hit kill

I still feel the football player was the original attacker, he was supposed to be dead but at the end he was still alive and the chick with pink hair. Hmm how where they both alive at the end and the chick with the pink hair vanished at the very very end! After popping up like we thought she was dead and the other attacker had her phone!
Let's give major props to film composer Brian Tyler, who went in and brought elements not normally used in a horror film, like solo piano, solo vocals, and paid close attention the softer moments between the frail relationship of the sisters.
Matthew Lilliard being back in some capacity would have also made this movie sensational
Hopefully saving for the next one .. it’ll probably be the last for awhile so I think the only BIG thing they could do is have a character we thought died still be alive .. Stu I guess makes most sense compared to anyone else

i feel it was a bit obvious who the male killer was, however i kept switching on who i thought the other one was. went from thinking it was liv, to mindy, to amber, back to mindy, then finally amber after the basement scene with her and mindy. i also hate that dewey died:( the way he died was just horrible. i don't really like gale weathers so if it was her that died i would not have cared as much.
NOT TO MENTION, all the scenes w ghostface and tara made me almost throw up, especially whe tara was moving in the wheelchair and her injured hand was bleeding everywhere. god just THINKING about it makes me wanna throw up

That’s what I believe is the point when they start making more sequels to combine those of the old Scream franchise. Possibly they’ll make a third killer of Woodsboro for Scream 7.

I felt like the new cast where terrible at acting. especially the "new sydney".... Dewey was great... Sydney and Gale were sine-lined through the whole film... and the movie was way too rushed. Lots of action.. best kill was the Boy and his mom the sheriff
I think that’s why the acting is disappointing a lot of people. You guys are literally holding this new cast up to the expectations of NEVE CAMPBELL. Sam is not the new Sydney, she’s Sam. This is definitely a movie where the fandom has to come together so we can get another movie and maybe see the issues we saw in this movie, fixed in the next one. If not, and everyone picks at every little detail this is for sure the last scream movie ever.

I loved this movie! It was so good!! BUT, and it's a Spoiler alert ⚠️ sorta.. So read at your own risk. I knew going in we were probably going to lose one of the originals, but OMG! When it happened, It hurt so bad 😭😭😭
I enjoyed the film for what it was but was highly disappointed that it wasn't scary at all. It's the only Scream movie to never make me jump. Even the ones I know every second of, still make me jump. :( I do think the final act makes up for the rest of the movie being rather boring tho. I always enjoy those final acts!! They are the best!
Was not boring had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, all of the old screams weren’t scary either this is horror but it’s not completely meant to just scare you. The story is much deeper than that

Jenna was the best part of the movie. Killers super obvious. I hope Wes isn’t really dead. We never saw the body.
The only bad parts of this film were the killers and their weak ass motives. Sorry. The film was great. It was straight up horror like I wanted. Brutal, creepy and scary at some parts. No more comedic or campy feels like previous ones.
It's just the plot and the reveal were too predictable and the killers were dissapointing. Out of all Ghostface killers in the franchise, they are the lowest.

It was hard to imagine Richie but amber was kind of weird the whole movie, the point of the killers is it’s supposed to be weird that they’d do that, like with ted Bundy people didn’t expect him to do those crimes but he did. That’s the point, you never know who the killer may be.

Scream 5 was absolutely an amazing movie! To anyone who is interested in watching it, do it! I would give the movie a solid 5 out of 5 stars; can't wait to watch it again!

I was 10 when the first came out and had a Ghostface too.. I grew up loving all of em..I cried watching this one! Even though I called the killer as soon as their first scene...just like dewy, i loved it! can't wait to own it!

@@SeventeenBeats What I mean is that Jill’s plan was having Trevor (her ex/boyfriend) as the new killer with Charlie (who was a Stu wannabe). So the formula was the same in a way.
And like it or not, the TV series is part of the Scream franchise. Maybe is not canon on the movie’s world but is in the same franchise.
this movie is everything. Neve didnt lie when she said it is like the first movie. But for this one, it's more into a 'gen z' kind of vibes since the cast are teenagers, but they did a great job bringing the legacy trio (Neve, Dewey, Gale) to this movie. I got goosebumps when Neve entered the house and saw ghostface in front of her....again.

This was a good movie, classic intense and unexpected scares just like the originals. Most movies and scary movies today suck ass, but this scream definitly felt like an oldschool movie. Like i was teleported back to the late 90s and watched it. Glad it was good and not shitty :D
Biggest dislikes were Sam and richies actors not being good at acting ! They did not fit this movie one bit. Also, Sam being able to see billy from his final moments, makes zero sense ! Other than that, I liked it. 2nd best to the original
Couldn’t agree more. I love the fan service of the movie but not sure I’m on board with another Sidney in the form of Sam. She didn’t grip me at all. Can’t wait to watch it again though
@@lagoremusic I felt like the person who played Sam, wasn't able to fake being scared or fake sadness well enough for a movie like this. It was like a blank emotion to me. I love a good scream from a character and one that can show a fake fear and sadness rhat I can believe. I had this same thought for the past 2 Halloween movies as well.
Dylan Minettes character should’ve been the the Killer or they should’ve had him play Richie .. he is a phenomenal actor and didn’t really get to showcase it in this movie

@@lycanthrophy616 yes...they will never kill Sydney...well never say never...but exactly...if they killed Gale...everyone would be like...oh...ok...but Dewey...who mostly died in scream 2 and has been through hell and back...they had to kill him...for the impact from us who wish he wasnt dead...to remember the movie...like oh shit....thats the screen movie that Dewey died in....and when we watch 1 through 4...we know...what he went through....what his fate is...and it makes it even more tragic. Love that character. I was pissed...believe me...fuck....but sooner or later...you know? 5 movies in....sad...but...needed to happen to change things up....so we don't expect the original three to keep living....

I think that’s why the acting is disappointing a lot of people. You guys are literally holding this new cast up to the expectations of NEVE CAMPBELL. Sam is not the new Sydney, she’s Sam. This is definitely a movie where the fandom has to come together so we can get another movie and maybe see the issues we saw in this movie, fixed in the next one. If not, and everyone picks at every little detail and calls it trash, this is for sure the last scream movie ever.

I didn't like the movie as part of the Scream series, however, I still liked it as a horror film. I did like the brutality- it almost made me feel like I was the one being harmed something I never got from Wes -directed Screams. My favorite Screams are 1,3 and 4.
I seen this movie when it came out and I will watch it again and when it come on DVD I'm going to watch it a number of times cuz I'm such a scream fan
