I have no top push clips. So I guess I'll be washing them from the outside!

Same. I have anderson casement. All matches except for top lock push clips. Wth? What good is it. I can’t even figure out how to remove screen that my contractor installed.

I just bought some and mine don't have top push clips either. Instead, you simply lower the top sash a little ways and then pull in on the top while pushing the track away (left or right) from the sash. It pops right out of its track and swings down. DON'T FORGET to first slide those plastic thingies back up to the top first or you will likely break them when you swing the top sash down. Then when the outside of the top sash is cleaned, swing it up and push out on the top to pop it back into its track. Same for the bottom sash.

I don't have Andersen's, but mine work similar...(no sliding bar at the track, just slide release switches at the top of each window). I knew how to pull in the bottom using the release. I didn't realize my tops had that same release lever on them, too. Thanks!

I have double-hung 400 series, no things to squeeze in. Top sash sags. Stiff to push down. How am I supposed to tilt it in and then fix it? Would be nice if you answered questions here since these windows are expensive.

Andersen need to update videos on TH-cam. Lots of other window companies trashing Andersen foe being so so complicated. Not the new window s from 2021 open so easy .

I worked for them in Dubuque Iowa, on the second shift. The management is immature, and incompetent. There's hours of downtime in my department that come in 30 to 45 minute blocks of predictable time.. We made a soccer ball out of tape, and shrink wrap the other night. Used it too. 😂🎉( IN A WINDOW FACTORY!! ) Things just stop for 45 minutes , or so, a few times a night. We're always 400 units behind. So,...😅😅 if your " top of the line " E series door or window is late, this is why. My suggestion to Andersen Windows as a company "TRYING" to stay in business, would be to sell to a foreign interest, with a dedicated work force that has a proven track record in manufacturing excellence, such as China, or Malaysia. OR move it to Mexico. With those two options the brand, and the stock at least has an honest chance to grow, and develop successfully, with a workforce that is motivated to build the product correctly, and efficiently. ⚽ ciao!😊

None of my Andersen window tops have release levers. What now?

  • @patgalbraith1636
    @patgalbraith1636 ปีที่แล้ว

The side tabs on my Andersen windows slide down easily until it gets to the window. Then I have to use a lot of pressure to get then in the correct position to be able to tilt the window. Mine are definitely not as easy as shown above. Overall, I'm not happy with them. The window locks keep breaking and you have to pay extra for that "hand hold" indentation that used to raise the window. For the price, they should be included. I will look around for another brand when they need replacing which won't be too far in the future.

How about when the top window has no push clips? You need to compress both sashes with your thumbs, while using your other two hands to pull the window in. Darn, I only have two hands. Is there another way to do this?

It seems that I am not hearing the click. I am scared that I will break the clip by being forceful to hear the clip

Recently had Renewal by Andersen install ten double hung windows 400 series installed in my home. I am disappointed in the tilt operation of some of the windows. The latch release clips (bad idea in my view) do not work well in some of the windows-difficult to insert to release the latches. In one case the clips will not insert at all-bind on the top of the sash. I do not want to pressure and risk breaking clips. I have called warranty but no response yet. I think the clip process is very bad design. In addition to difficult operation on some of my windows, complicated and risk damage if clips not pushed up.

Same problem . I cannot tilt them and broke the casing off the side of the window trying. Gonna have to get on a tall ladder to clean the outside which is ridiculous. Not happy and would not recommend these windows

that just happened to me yesterday. I solved it using thin long handled rubber kitchen spatula to toggle it loose. Good luck. And, no I was NOTable to pull bottom window down to clean it. Grumble.

My Renewal double hung are AWFUL. Everytime I do that, the string gets tangled. Have had 2 window balancer strings break. Still trying to get RBA out to cover this. From day one 4 years ago they never sealed properly. I would avoid RBA :(

Have a brand new anderson bay window with double hung on each side & I love the bay window but tilting the side windows to clean is a nightmare!!! I have indentations on both my middle fingers try to push the clips all the way in!! My old double sash windows are super easy to clean. I would not recommend Anderson double hung windows!!

  • @irenetroy5311

Not exactly as shown here...the first time I tried to tilt my windows, the sash release came apart in my hands. The top latch jammed open making it extremely difficult to close the window. Yeah...perhaps a redesign would be a good idea. Or, at least better and more correct instructions.

Not this easy on a 15yr old window! I didn't push the clip up before closing the bottom. Now how in the world will I ever close the window!!??

The worst windows on the world to tilt open to clean. Too many crazy instructions to follow step by step. I had to keep coming back to the video before each step to follow them. I cannot recommend them.

I had the same problem . I had to play the video several times and finally decided to write down the instructions instead. For an elderly person, the windows can be heavy to lift to put back in place.
