When Raiden asks Lord Liu Kang what he sees in Johnny Cage is the same answer he received when Liu Kang asked Lord Raiden in the original timeline. “He is a hero, though he may not know it” that was wholesome.

I feel a lot of people have been wondering about why Bi-han turned evil. I do believe that the story is very well written in that it captures the small moments that you really should pay attention to.
Bi-han is a man who fundamentally feels that everyone js against him, that no one respects him and that no one deserves sympathy for being a voice against his deepest fear that he is alone.
This frustration inside bi-han was on the verge of a nuclear disaster, all it needed was an obviously evil psychopath to convice him that HE was right and that no one else really matters except him because he is the only person he can ever really trust. This then turned to rage and an unquenchable thirst for revenge and domination.
He had to show everyone HE was worthy, HE had value, HE was someone. He basically turned into a maniacal narcissist, clouded by delusions of grandeur.
He is a really realistic character because this is something that happens in real life. People turn vile and evil because of their childhood. Children need to feel loved and supported and if they dont its a risk that they may turn their path towards evil. Its unlikely but they are a dog without a leash and they REQUIRE guidance.
I have to admit I rushed through this story because I at first wanted to look at it from a technical standpoint, how does everything fit together, how does it work? But I really missed the human side of it, as I often do ngl😂

Better movie than one from couple years ago
As an MK veteran, (I plugged more quarters into this game than anything else in the arcades, except maybe Soul Caliber 😂) I can say, the series has had its ups and downs, but this game stands as an absolute love letter to EVERYTHING Mortal Kombat, even the rather obscure titles. Great fun for newcomers, and lot's of clever call backs for longtime fans. It's great to see the franchise still going so strong all these years later. And yes, I know, I FEEL old too. 😂😂 At least at 46 I'll be around to see where else they can take this amazing storyline. Be safe out there.

as a pretty new fan of the series (played it a bit in arcades/consoles as a kid, but never really got into it) it’s really lovely to see longtime fans praise a new game. it seems like recently, newer games/remakes always get ragged on by older fans bc they’re “wrong” or “different” or legitimately garbage. your opinion is very refreshing!
Ive always loved baraka. He’s been my favorite character along with reptile for the longest time and I’m so glad they finally humanized him. He’s always been treated bad and was always just a traitor and again treated like the monster they thought he was. I’m so unbelievably happy they finally put thought into him

What i love about this game is that they took elements from all of the previous games and turned it into this. You can still play it as a new MK player but it's even better when you understand the references, scenes, lines, etc. This was a beautiful experience.

I love that Baraka is a good guy in this, It may seem bad but I like that he is a victim of a disease then a ruthless monster, meaning he has ACTUAL emotions and 'human'ity
Same. He was always a favorite of mine, and when MK2 first came out, my eleven year old mind likened him to Wolverine - a good guy, but not a nice guy. It's nice to see that come to pass, after a fashion.

This story is better than ever tbh… I didn’t know what to expect but they paid so much homage.. other than Megan fox voice acting lol. Reptile also has quickly become my new game-crush tho my goodness!🤩 they put so much love and work into this and attention to detail, this was better than any movie that’s come out in the last 5 years.

Johnny is still the same Johnny Cage he was from a previous timeline before Liu Kang changed it.
So happy that Baraka is a hero now and is genuinely sympathetic. And I love how this game truly shows how much of a slimy, manipulative chessmaster Shang Tsung is.
It's sad that they just dumped Baraka and Reptile halfway through.

2- that smile from ashrah at the end of her chapter was so adorable
It's interesting to see many of the previous antagonists becoming part of Liu Kang's champions. Really nice to see their redemption arcs.

And even some of the antagonists aren't "evil" but merely doing what they think is right. This type of writing creates more 3 dimensional characters and better future options.

I love that Mileena has been redeemed here & finally has the real sisterly relationship with Kitana that it was revealed in her MK11 ending she always wanted.

I gotta say they did an amazing job with this game. They never fail to impress us with their hard work put into this. The quality, the characters, the voice acting, the animation, the fights, the story. Outstanding job.
51:42 I love how Liu Kang just roasts Raiden without him knowing it here. Especially with Kung Lao standing right there, the dig about sending a fighter who is unprepared to their death just hits so much harder

I love that Skorpion and Sub-Zero are in the same clan in this. Always thought the two of them working together was better than them fighting one another. But I can’t deny, the rivalry will forever be legendary

Finding out both endings in MK11 were true was a dope twist….. but the story was a little all over the place towards the end

Yeah, could have used a bit more dramatics. All those quick hitter fights felt like a showcase of kustomization, not much more lol. But overall, loved the bulk of the story. So delighted about what they did with reptile, ashrah, etc
Yeah it was perfect until the final chapter then it goes a lil bizarre. Even for MK standards. Not to mention it felt a little rushed and underwhelming including the battle with Titan Shang. That being said though as for the rest of the story, for the first time in a very long time, the NRS writers have heavily outdone themselves. This was amazing
So now all character outcomes are canon? It cheapens the reboot and Lui kangs time line. There is no restart to the franchise this is basically MK12. If Shang Tsung won and is a God in his timeline why TF does he know or care about messing with Liu Kang’s timeline…shit makes no sense

I love games that evolve and build their stories upon the previous entries. They could easily have started from scratch, no references to the previous games, since the story had started anew. But nope. It went even crazier than 11. I love it so much. Can't wait for the DLC

@@ok-kk3ic Well, successor games like God of War Ragnarok or Horizon Forbidden West come to my mind, but MK9-MK1 has been unprecedented, 4 games with directly combined storylines. Can't think of any better examples right now.
But, on the animated front, there's the Harley Quinn animated series which lets the universe evolve, and isn't episodic at all. I fully recommend.

This last chapter was nuts, authors clearly let their imagination run free and introduce freaky combinations. Props to them for that. Overall whole story was superb.
Its like they made a bunch of characters in Kreate a fighter. I would love to make some myself. Devs could even make a separate ranked matchmaking for custom characters.

Making the players’ in-game decision of how to end MK11 an actual canon event was a mind-blowing twist I would never have seen coming. But to take it even one step further and make all MK11’s characters’ tower-endings canon too?? That’s an incredibly bold of a writing choice. Call me impressed!!

The way Johnny Cage delivers "it's a... s-soulnado" just got me 😂😂
The twist where both MK11 endings were real was excellent. The Armageddon part of the ending was confusing and chaotic, Jarrod actually returning and taking over ermacs body was amazing. The story had many redemption arcs for former villains and I loved it! Salute to everyone who had a hand in making the game. Excellent work

Normally I would fine the whole "timeline battle" trope to be exhausted and overused. But the way it was done in MK1 was actually spectacular and well-executed.

Every time they drop a new MK game I like to watch the story mode on TH-cam. I generally wait until the Komplete version of the game gets released so I can get the base game and all the DLC at the same time. I love the new Raiden so much, he seems to value his own personal values more than his mission. And he isnt as arrogant, cold and distant like the previous timeline

I love how the story leads into a fight, and the moment it’s over (Or perhaps the moment the player wins) The story picks up right away and carries on.
PS: I’m not sure if other recent games went with the same approach…? This is the first MK game I’ve seen/played in QUITE A FEW years!

I'm amazed at how varied the Armageddon chapter is depending on who you pick. I just finished watching TheRadBrad's playthrough and he chose Johnny Cage as his final fighter. Also, the enemies he ended up facing were completly different from here.
Out of all the Mortal Kombat cutscenes/stories I like this one more than any other honestly. The story, dialogue, past memories, and the characters look amazing!
Megan Fox as Nitara is garbage. Her voice work is lazy and flat and them using her actual face for the character is cheap and silly. Just totally out of place. Everything else seems pretty cool.

I still can't get over at how good the graphics look in this game, it feels like I am watching an actual animated movie, Netherrealms just keeps rising and rising with the quality always getting better and better

PS5 era 3D polygons are three or four times more compared to PS4 era 3D models. Means they're almost in the same as Pixar's animation quality in graphic

Seeing Scorpion and Sub Zero as brothers, and Smoke as the kousin who is so close he might as well be a brother is long overdue. It’s beautiful. I stand korrected. Takagawa is not the voice of Shang Tsung in this latest iteration of the game. His successor is indeed excellent though. Sounds very similar. Still has that sinister sound.
It's actually a new VA for Shang Tsung. But Alan Lee is a worthy successor, isn't he? 😄

bruh i so high watching this game. the cutscenes look like real people sometimes. this was great game to watch.
The ending was insane the different endings to the fight in mk11 altered the timelines so much that it changed certain characters appearances lol i was shocked to see scorpion as a woman and goro with shao khans hammers makes me wonder what they have in store for the next game.

Also I like how the story basically confirms both endings of MK11 aftermath being canon but after watching snowblind I think all tower endings were also canon after all as liu kang said there’s Multiverse now and in each timeline a character has its own hourglass to control which is amazing hope they continue with Multiverse like this

I never played the MK games, so I'm watching this for the first time, and omg, it's so great. The ending with all the boys together is beautiful too. Brothers fr ❤ I wish i could play MK1 ao so that i can experience the game for myself. It looks really fun!
The most wonderful part that I loved is about the chemistry between the 3 guys Johny Cage, Kenshi and Kung Lao. This chemistry is the GEM in this new era!❤

This is hands down one of THE if not THE best Mortal Kombat game ever. And I'm so proud of Liu Kang. As a child I grew up with Liu Kang and see him grew and go through a lot of changes and now that he is a God and a protector of a realm able to protect his home and realm that I feel greatly proud of him like a father would do for a son. It actually brought tears to my eyes. And I'm so happy that he finally got that kiss from Kiatana because after everything they deserve this. Words can even describe how much joy I feel. This is Liu Kang God of fire, Protector of Earthrealm, Great fighter of Mortal Kombat, And a great friend and leader! Thank you for all who created this game it really has been the best! AND THANK YOU LIU KANG FOR EVERYTHING 🤩❤🤩!!!!!!!!!!!

This is enjoyable to watch. During the initial Raiko fight when you win the first round Raiden saying "I may not have faced war but I am a warrior." And immediately getting laid out made me burst out laughing. Not saying the gameplay is bad, but that took me off guard lol.

I love the way this has been split into two coexisting timelines from the previous game endings from the aftermath.
Game looks amazing, and the story is amazing too. I just wish they would make more games like Shaolin Monks, Armageddon, and Deception. I always loved being able to explore an open world and fight whoever I came across. Wether it was training combos, or actually defeating somebody. The joy of finding a secret opponent and beating them was unreal

Indeed. Though the beginning to the story's 75% was incredibly well written, the ending left a lot of questions. What happens to the other timelines? How did everything come back to normal? How is liu kang back to his demi god form? Etc
@@ericrahman7932 Yeah, I think it became a mess once the "recruit other timelines" part started to happening. Though I guess choosing who wins the battle is nice too.
I'd have preferred something like Liu Kang allowing Geras to become the Keeper of Time and have him be the final playable character.
Quan Chi's initial reveal blew me away because of how realistic every aspect of his character was! Such amazing detail!
And pretty cool to see how he turned white as a ghost.
Damn Qua Chi looks more like a real person than any of them.
