Old Modern Warfares were so memorable because of it's ridiculous yet very memorable Campaign. It really feels like a World War, stakes are immeasurably high, and the war itself is very chaotic and massive. Nukes, Battleships, Submarines, Fighter jets, it really feels like a massive war. These new Modern Warfares on the other hand, just really feels toned down, hell, it doesn't feel like a War lol.
It's the reality of "Modern Warfare"... instead of nations, it is a battle between private companies and their ideals. But I did find it weird that the current style of MW2023, just mimics the PVE mode of the original MW3.
to be fair, that is more true to what modern warfare is like these days.... at least until the past year or so. and even then, these paramilitary/off the books operations still happen everywhere, probably at higher intensity now
@@copynoob4031I’m sorry, but this is a horrible take. the dialogue feels forced, the missions feel like you’re playing warzone, the campaign is short and rushed, and it’s buggy as shit with characters talking over each other. this campaign is nothing more than a disappointment.
@@grigorie_2931It's a reboot. I guess you can also call it a remake, but it veers off a lot of story beats that the original trilogy had for it to qualify as a remake personally.

It's abundantly clear this was meant to be a MWII DLC campaign to set up for the real MWIII in a year or two, but MWII underperformed. "Weapons Free" maps are just Warzone maps chopped up, Shepherd and Graves get taken out of the story in a quick 30 second cutscene, and the game ends on a cliffhanger after a decent (but not fantastic) "final" mission.

MW2019 brought us a surreal, grounded, tactical war drama with excellent slow paced missions to level out the shooting galleries. It wasn’t perfect, but it was new and interesting. MW2022 mixed the war drama back in with the classic CoD action set pieces and “level gimmicks” and also further explored the bond of TF-141 in a shockingly hilarious fashion. Not to mention the best character in CoD history, Colonel Alejandro Vargas(yes I’m a simp). It was short, flawed, and messy, but damnit, it was fun. MW3 somehow made every single character boring, made Soap’s death feel empty and pointless, and couldn’t even deliver a single interesting mission. No fun gimmicks, no crazy action set pieces, and they didn’t even bring back a slow, tense raid that helped revitalize the CoD franchise. And they didn’t even invite Alejandro to the party. This was a lazy cash grab, even by Activision standards.
Well said, exactly how I feel almost. Though I wouldn't be so forgiving of MW2. I thought in a lot of ways it was a gigantic step down in terms of writing from 2019.
I think part of why Soap's death feels so empty and pointless is that within the first twenty minutes or so of this game, the story tells us essentially that death in this story is almost irrelevant. Alex's sacrifice from the first game? Undone. Graves exploding in that tank at the end of the second game? Whoops, he wasn't actually in the tank after all, and also for some reason Farah is fine working with him despite all the treason and betrayal he committed against her friends...
I agree with you. I feel this somewhat as a disgrace to mw2019. The way they spring around like a super human, not tactical or anything. It's funny that they manage to make sequel worse in everyway. Seriously, all they need to do is to invest in the story, just leave graphics and the rest the same with mw2019 and it will sell like hot cake. But "Hey, f*ck you, let's us do our game and shut up", right 😂
Agreed. MW3 just feels like a cashgrab instead of a "premium release". Plus they reused so many models from MW2 that you could barely tell if it was a new game without the UI

bit late in finding this vid, god the sudden death hit so hard. the cutscene where they're spreading his ashes really brought a tear to my eye. honestly wish they kept him alive, would've loved to see more of soap and ghost's interactions but i do get the bitter sweet ending. rest in peace soap, you truly were one of the best.
The most emotional time was when Roach and Ghost were betrayed by Shephard, but this time makes it's good to see the history not repeat but feel bad for Soap. Price's expression when Soap died on the earlier version of game was heartbreaking too, it was as if he had lost his son.
I keep watching his death over and over to see if something had exited the other side of his head and you don’t see anything come out the other end. Now I realize that it is a game and they burned his body and confirmed his death, but what if he did survive and is now in hiding. Now the question is, is how did the bullet not kill him (if he is still alive)? Well people can survive headshots sometimes it depends on the bullet and the gun, but most important the force that the bullet put on the human body. Knowing makarov he’s using a powerful gun and bullet to finish the job. So soap can’t survive that without protection. But let’s say soap had a metal plate in his head from a previous near death experience now we can see that soap has a chance of surviving. Now obviously this is speculation and I would like this to be the case but infinity wars made their decision to kill soap off if anything he’s just the first one to go and sadly won’t be coming back. (Hopefully I’m wrong on this one)

Soap in the original MW3 died a noble death. Even after finding out yuri knows makarov and after losing his trust with him, he still saved his life before he could save his own. In this MW3 they killed off soap in the most disrespectful way possible. Same with makarov, the original MW3 saw the savagery after makarov killed everyone who sided with price in MW3. (Lets not forget the honourable sacrifice of sandman, grinch and truck). With shepherd already killing roach and ghost in MW2 and zachiev killing Gaz and Griggs in Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. Price only had Soap and Nikolai left with a new comer who hated makarov more then Price which was Yuri. Makarov even killed off Kamarov too. Aswell as soap and yuri. Price only had Nikolai left. Price Hung Makarov on the top of a building in the last mission ending savagery with savagery. In this modern warfare, it was primarily focused on Konni and Makarov, yet Makarov had a shitter ending then Shepherd. He had a shitter ending then Barkov from Modern Warfare 2019. MW3 has been rushed massively. The missions seemed like you’re playing on those CO-OP missions and collecting loot like you would in Warzone. I’m hoping they make a new modern warfare and it being better. We still have a few villains left that 141 hasnt settled the score with yet. I dont know if the zombies version will be connected to this timeline. Also what happened with Al-Assad. There was no way Hadir was Al-Assad they both had 2 different character models.
Makarov was such a savage in the old game they made him soft in the new one. No one mission stood out in this game there’s no shock factor at any point. Really dropped the ball
OG MW series has that particular airport mission and a cutscene of a family with a little girl getting bombed by toxic gas, the new MW, although 2019 and MW2 was great, still doesnt have as much impact as the first on in terms of storytelling :(
I honestly expected more from this campaign. This was meant to be one of the most nail-biting sequels in the series but no....they give us this.....I was expecting sandman....frost......maybe even Alejandro again because he was the best.....and operation kingfish....I feel like this campaign couldve been waaay better and im sure everyone agrees.

The beeping and flashing is for the audience know that it was planted. In universe, it was very discreet and passive. Like how IRL time bombs don't beep faster and higher the less time it has, so I guess Soap but a beeper on there to raise his awareness.....but also for drama. But I'm done making excuses for this "game". Anybody who knows anything about the Channel Tunnel knows the real one doesn't look anything like that, so even the final mission threw off any "immersion", aka suspension of disbelief.

Old COD campaigns were so much more memoranle, entertaining and enjoyable. Characters were more badass and/or terrifying. Set pieces were more impressive. Newer campaigns are only superior when it comes to graphics.
The death of Soap could mean that someone else fills his spot on the team. Could be Roach or Yuri. Though I’m worried that Price killing a US general will mean that 141 gets disavowed.

yes, dialogues and speech in general aren't badly written imo, it's the missions and gameplay that simply aren't there and the campaign is also too short to make you care about anything.

I’m sorry, but this made Soaps death so much less impactful and meaningless to the story. Bill Murray conveyed so much emotion as Price when Soap died. Soaps last words were to warn Price that Makarov knew Yuri. Even the pistol that Price placed on his chest had so much meaning. MW he slid it to Soap to kill Zakhaev, then Soap gives it back when they rescue him in MW2. The talk Price has with MacMillan; you can tell how heart broken he is. MW 2019 did so much right, and MW2 wasn’t too bad. This game just took a nose dive in my opinion.
The minute I saw Price pick up an armor plate at 30:26 I knew this games campaign was gonna blow. You’ve done us an honor and a service by letting us watch this gameplay. Now I know for sure that I won’t be buying the new modern warfare.

I LOVE THE FACT THAT THEY USED GHOST'S OLD CHARACTER MODEL FOR THE FLASHBACK SCENE! THE NOSTALGIA HIT ME LIKE A TRUCK! (EDIT: YOU CAN START AT 1:28:17)
I'll be perfectly honest. I never invested into buying a CoD game, especially for its multiplayer because I'm not a competitive gamer. However, I've always LOVED the story the campaigns have told, especially the old MW arcs. When 2019 and MWII reboots came out, I watched the gameplay on TH-cam just to see the storyline progression and was seriously in love. MW3 though, I have to agree, it feels so different. 2019 an MWII had a very cinematic feel during the gaming, with also a very strong grittiness to it where you felt very immersed in the gameplay, resorting to use stealth and think tactics, while also the appearance of everything felt very cinematic. Not to mention, there was always something progressing the story in the gameplay, always a piece of dialogue you did not want to miss. This? It literally feels like, as someone said, Fortnite with some really cool FMV scenes. Very disappointing because the story actually had very good potential to be good and told dramatically throughout the gameplay, but it literally feels like I'm watching someone play multiplayer, "running and gunning", rather than watching a movie like I have with MKIceAndFire's previous videos on the older MW games.
I read the comments before watching this entire thing, and I've gotta say now that I've finished: I expected much worse. I think the complaints people have are at least partially because of the playing style of this youtuber, he ran through many of these missions as if he was playing Fortnite. I think some of these level designs would've seemed more immersive and shined better with another player. At the end of the day, when a level shows clear intent towards you solving it through stealth and a tactical gameplay, and you just rambo your way through it, constantly shoving plates in your carrier and looting everything as if you were playing Warzone, I don't think it's the game's fault if the "cinematic" feeling is broken. Every mission had mid-level lines of dialogue and coherent developments to the sub-plots. It wasn't that bad or much different from what we've had before. It's the last time I ever watch this guy playing CoD campaigns though, this is really not my style and I found many of his decisions frustratingly stupid.
@@Killercutegirll bro pls, when u see how long the video is, drop a timestamp when referring to a certain moment. Not everybody has the time to watch these entire videos since we have other shit to do in life! A lesson to be learned for ur comments on here. Remember that.
It don’t mean that. He has to stay on top of the competition and only major gm out at the moment. Plus, it’s COD 3 it always gets love as far as gm play.
I think the MW3 campaign is unique because it’s almost like warzone but its also like an open world campaign instead of being inside a box following instructions
Thoughts on the game: -Though the missions are all over, a lot happens in a short timeframe. The new Warzone-style gameplay is a bit odd, but does make it more interactive. -The opening mission was like Extraction 2. Due to the accents, I thought Price was the prisoner. My heart fell when they spoke Russian. Always weird when playing the bad guys. -I feel like Farah has gotten a bit gentler physically and emotionally. -The plane scene at 59:46 was far creepier than the London scene in MW1. -When Makarov made that promise at 1:30:10, I thought it would mean Soap would finish him in the end. -1:31:17 was the greatest chat between 141 and an enemy. -“Makarov’s hello” at 2:34:33 seemed far too easy to have been true. It was. -2:38:33 was great. Both were saving themselves by throwing the other under the bus and committing perjury. -I thought 2:55:18 would be like the original MW2, with Price or Soap saving the other at the last second. Backup always has to arrive too late. -It’s nice that they gave Soap a farewell ceremony as the wind carried his ashes over the lake. I was really hoping Ghost would take off the mask finally. -I thought it was Graves or Makarov in the corner at first. I felt awful to think that Price felt he had to do that. Always love the storylines, graphics, and character conversations. Please tell me there is more to the storyline than this.
I dont care if anyone said that he always play on Normal/Standard difficulty, this is for showcase of the game, not for hardcore/experienced players. If you wanted to play in higher difficulty, we can see lots of them outside but they are just not really fun to watch since it feels boring due they already learned the entire game instead of casual players like most of us.
Graves: Soap... you miss me? Graves:Well, technically, you did, didn't you? Ghost: Laswell, if you're tracking this, let's call an airstrike. The ghost sentence made me laugh💀
I feel if all 3 campaigns were combined into a singular game, narratively itd feel much more cohesive with all warzone cutscenes interwoven like tv episodes between the games campaigns. This would be a fun way to playthrough the series.. imma do that.
It would be a lot better but after all, they sell the same game over and over again, charge it for 70$, have a 3 hour campaign and reused multiplayer features from warzone or other cod games, it's disappointing, mw 2019 was the best cod sledgehammer made alongside cold war, the rest just seem like filler. What a time to be a cod fan.
@garrybug907 yea I know it's sad. I've always loved the campaigns no matter which cod it was through the years. But this new mw3 really is quite disappointing. I like the idea of an open worldish structure to the missions but there is a noticeable lack of set pieces and terrible pacing throughout because of that new mission structure. Eh I'm gunna play through all 3 of them anyways though like a full movie lol.
Idk if people notice but in the "Flashpoint" Mission ( 1:16:30 ) one of the operators in this mission is Burns who was there in the classic mw. Nice to see some side characters from the classic coming back like how they brought Briggs in mw 2019
The bar for this campaign was set so high. They made so many mistakes. A lot of us were expecting Op Kingfish and Price being captured, Soap's rise to Capt. and leader of 141 while Ghost is his right-hand Lt. like back then.
They're resting on the laurels of their betters. And the cod community enables them to do so. Stop buying the games and stop engaging in their shitty microtransactions and hopefully they'll change. Instaban squeakers as well
Well, COD MW2019 is perfect (from the gameplay and cinematography), it’s really feels like you’re the main character. But MW3 2023 feels like you’re a warzone player..
The thing i liked about mw2019 was how relatively realistic looking it was and how dark and serious. But it seems all that went out the window with these last 2. Everything you can think of is gimmicky and turns out to be a joke in some type of way even the way they speak it’s like they’re in a superhero movie for kids. Which i feel is exactly their target audience now
Got to give respect to Shepard, he went out on his word!!! He didn’t beg for his life. Also, so sad that soap died. I miss COD on xbox 360, those were the best days.
throwback to 2011 when cod mw3 was actually good. here is a little theory: in the mission blood brothers during yuris flashback, he was using a dead guards p99 and in the mission strong hold he also used a p99 maybe he was using the same p99 that he used when he was trying to stop makarov in the airport

The great thing about rebooted modern warfares is this that third person perspective changes to first person perspective so that you can see the character you are playing with.
I remember back when people use to compete Halo and CoD and honestly every game those two games would come would be hits. Makes me think something happened industry wide in the gaming business cause it went from both having equally good multiplayer and campaign to both struggling in one or both of the criteria.
Cheap(quality) is infecting every industry, not only the gaming industry. One has to notice prices going up and yet quality is going down. Games and their quality storylines, design, mechanics and many more aspects are absolutely not practiced anymore. Developers are not the same, they want a quick buck, not like back in the day developers, where the buck was there but their names and reputations was primarily their objective. Very few video games out of 100s made today are actually worth my time, not even the money I worry about. And what I really want to say about the gaming industry is that their pulse is really weak and I don't feel the same warmth(enthusiasm), as I used to. I started gaming in 1995, all the way to today.
I was skeptic since I've always been a fan of Roman Varshavsky's performance in the OG MW, but this is pretty good.
Yeah its like private revenge war between certain groups
It's the reality of "Modern Warfare"... instead of nations, it is a battle between private companies and their ideals. But I did find it weird that the current style of MW2023, just mimics the PVE mode of the original MW3.

It's abundantly clear this was meant to be a MWII DLC campaign to set up for the real MWIII in a year or two, but MWII underperformed. @@noneofyourbuiznessMicrosoft will ruin Activision
This was a lazy cash grab, even by Activision standards.
this is what we get for having cod every year.
Quitting Cod is the best thing I've done to my life.. Im now cod free for almost 5 months now.. Im slowly getting my life back.

bit late in finding this vid, god the sudden death hit so hard. the cutscene where they're spreading his ashes really brought a tear to my eye. honestly wish they kept him alive, would've loved to see more of soap and ghost's interactions but i do get the bitter sweet ending. rest in peace soap, you truly were one of the best.

MW he slid it to Soap to kill Zakhaev, then Soap gives it back when they rescue him in MW2. The talk Price has with MacMillan; you can tell how heart broken he is. MW 2019 did so much right, and MW2 wasn’t too bad. This game just took a nose dive in my opinion.
feels more realistic than whatever the old one made it. i prefer this easily
In OG Price were more close to Soap than anyone else. But in reboot hе is way more close to Gaz than Soap so not that emotional

Huh why
@@Jinx.mp5 because the new campaign sucks. the hud is exactly like the multiplayer hub, something that shouldnt be. the storytelling isnt as good, the dialogue isnt good aswell, the missions arent memorable, and the campaign is short af. and they expect u to pay it full price. not spending 70 dollars on a game that u can finish in 4 hours and looks exactly like warzane. not to mention that the mission maps are the same maps they use on multiplayer.

Where's It?
Agreed Brother!
They should had keep the old mask. Shit is legendary.
Too bad the glasses are wrong in MWII
That’s how manipulate stupid sheeple into giving them $70 for trash
I couldnt agree more
I read the comments before watching this entire thing, and I've gotta say now that I've finished: I expected much worse.
WOW!!!! that Farah mission felt like I was watching Warzone💥🔥🔥🔥

Thanks for this. I stopped playing CoD in 2017, but I still love watching playthroughs of the new campaigns.
Mw 2019 single player was great imo
The mw2 story looks 100x better, just the mission with survival was sooo cool.
yeah
theyve couldve did something similar instead of a bunch of DMZ mission
@@AirsoftAlbert They could have simply released the story later. But the new DMZ is pretty cool by the way
Thoughts on the game:
-Though the missions are all over, a lot happens in a short timeframe.
Interactive is definitely not a word that fits more like unbelievably bland
I love the 'run directly towards someone with a gun and you don't die, what's cover' vibe :D

But the industry's trend now is to be as incomplete, loose and half-assed as just a DLC!
People who watched the whole thing like this
Idk if people notice but in the "Flashpoint" Mission ( 1:16:30 ) one of the operators in this mission is Burns who was there in the classic mw. Nice to see some side characters from the classic coming back like how they brought Briggs in mw 2019
Because the mission was set 4 years ago
The bar for this campaign was set so high. They made so many mistakes. A lot of us were expecting Op Kingfish and Price being captured, Soap's rise to Capt. and leader of 141 while Ghost is his right-hand Lt. like back then.
They're resting on the laurels of their betters. And the cod community enables them to do so. Stop buying the games and stop engaging in their shitty microtransactions and hopefully they'll change. Instaban squeakers as well
1:17:02 If you look closely, one of the ¨paramedics¨ in the ambulance has a rifle in his back and the one inside is Makarov. Cool detail

I remember back when people use to compete Halo and CoD and honestly every game those two games would come would be hits. Makes me think something happened industry wide in the gaming business cause it went from both having equally good multiplayer and campaign to both struggling in one or both of the criteria.
Bungie didn't wanna make halo games anymore so they just left, Activision no idea why
Thank you so much for helping me complete deep cover ❤

I was skeptic since I've always been a fan of Roman Varshavsky's performance in the OG MW, but this is pretty good. Julian Kostov's Makarov is more insane than Roman's who is more cold and calculated.
It's just sad that the writing team did not maximize his insanity by actually giving him wins and showing his capabilities off more.
