I was an obsessive BMW fan and decided to buy a Ds5 for its stunning looks. Did I make mistake by changing brands? Absolutely not, the quality is way ahead of BMW, it's a real pleasure to drive, just sitting in the Ds5 surrounded by its stunning design makes me smile. I have to say that the longer you have the Ds5 the Better it gets.
Christiaan Hoole live on the boundary of the conjestion zone so had to go EV, but, really miss the DS 5........in fact I am seriously considering buying another ( in white ) I can’t live with the EV, after the DS5, as the DS5 is just way ahead of other cars
@@mandirali7553 correction. The 1.6 thp petrol was a joint venture between BMW and PSA, its called the Prince engine. So its not a bmw engine its a psa/bmw engine. More PSA then bmw as a matter of fact...
My neighbour owns a DS5 - It looks absolutely stunning compared to the Chrysler 300C Wagon he had before. - The French really know what they are doing when it comes to designing good looking cars.
I didn't even know about this car until I saw one at a parking lot. It looked so great I had to look it up. Videos and photos just don't do justice for its looks.
RokitScientist1987 LOL , this ain't the worst i've seen these curent times in the car market , so not the best pick , not the shittiest ,50% good design and good interior 50%horse power less car ;)
I used to drive these a lot. They're great, but the mistake a lot of people make is assuming that the top of the range is best. It isn't. In terms of powerplant you want the Hybrid (it really suits the car) but in terms of trim the most comfortable one is the base car (dsign). The second up (dstyle) is slightly less comfy with lots of goodies and the top car (dsport) is - frankly - bloody uncomfortable with hard leather "sports" seats and illogical 19" wheels but some nice goodies (for the period). It's like someone decided to build a lovely, luxurious French car and left the room for a few minutes and some dingus snuck in and decided they had to "Germanise". Then some muppet decided it needed to be as expensive as a BMW or Merc.
Drove one and it’s really great 👍 all the whinging about the hard ride is rubbish, the earlier ones had slightly harder rides, but no worse than bmw/Audi/ and you can upgrade the dampers for the later ones. 2014 onwards have the slightly softer suspensions, but if you like a sporty ride? Then you will love the earlier ones and later models as there all good to drive. It a fantastic long distance cruiser that simply glides along effortlessly even at higher speeds.
What I like about Peugeot is the risks they take in doing something creative with design. Hate it or not, credibility goes to a mainstream car manufacturer that does something different. Personally I like it but can see how it is too much for people. A little whacky but then, it is French!!!
Wow you man are legend for the title...this is how i feel about this car..and the more i think about it the more i want it 🤣 its between this and mercedes cls shooting brake to replace my jaguar xf...i know its mad 🤣
I think I'll have to reserve my judgement of its looks for now. I just dislike cars with grumpy faces, though this one seems to be... I don't know... kinda "wait 'till you see it in real life" looks?
Um? Doesnt handle? It ones of the best handling normal cars you can buy, especially for a big FWD chassis. The grip levels it has are insane. Don't assume it doesn't handle just because its not made for it. French cars ALWAYS handle great, especially citroens which are very grippy and very stable. They're not best rally car makers in the world for no reason.
derbigpr500 The rally cars have nothing to do with the road-going citroens. And they certainly do NOT handle. The old Saxo and the new DS3 are ok, but other than that, they feel like waterbeds on wheels. One of the worst handling cars i have ever driven is a C5. And the "hot" versions of the C4 were a complete joke, both handling and powerwise. Come to think of it, so were the Xsaras as well...
Yep Kristen, he is a big dump! Citroen C5 2.2 HDI, 204hp, is one of the best cars citroen build. He is comfortable, safe and fast. He don’t know nothing about Citroen, and he talk out his neck! Stupid! The Citroen race cars have nothing to do with Citroen??? I think this guy is not only a dumb, but also he is make to drive a bycicle, so he will sit stable!

Have you still got your Citroen

The petrol engines are BMWs
@@lipstodieformanfred9072 what engine did you have

I see a few of them on the road on go 'Wooooooooow ...' everytime! :)
It does look astonishing!!
Makes BMW's look like a Model T Ford. Looks fantastic inside & out.

And that's impressive because the 300 is regarded as a good looking car already.

First car I am actually obsessed with. Will buy it in June!
It look astonishing, remind me of my 3-door C4, but DS is far more elegant.
Finally a car that makes me proud to be French :)
lol,bad pick dude

Thankfully you guys have a few more like the 208 GTi ;)
ianiva that one exactly, love that car
RokitScientist1987 The DS3 is a pretty nice car as well.
DS5, Like nothing else on the road!
It really is a beautiful car! But I'd go for the 200hp petrol engine.

I love this car from all the best and the best on all the cars of the world and I hope you will be one day
Don't tell us it weighs about as much as the moon. Tell us how much it weighs.
Lazy journalism :o(

Except it's not a Peugeot.
Hahaha. Too true.
citroen needs to come back to the US asap!!
the best car "team" my parents had a couple of years ago was a Citroën DS3 DSport (blue) and a Citroën DS5 DSport Hybrid (white)
maybe the beauty doesnt translate well on screen. Hope I get to see one up close
u deleted this video from cnet cars i believe
Not a big fan of the DS5 design but the DS3 & DS4 were good. I hope they will sell their next big saloon and SUV in Europe.
Wow you man are legend for the title...this is how i feel about this car..and the more i think about it the more i want it 🤣 its between this and mercedes cls shooting brake to replace my jaguar xf...i know its mad 🤣
finally interesting car on xcar :)
i want one!
I would like to see that in the USA.
Wonderful car but ill go for a faster BMW 5 series diesel for the price range
its a goof lookin citroen
Kinda has a tesla look to it.
Yasser Arafat's lookin trim, fer a dead bloke. Prattlin on about some French motor......
I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, because I really don't like the look of it :S.

hipster car
Looks pretty ugly, and doesn't handle well. Meh. Buck up and buy a 335d with a ecu tune!
There is absolutely no reason to be proud of being French
I'm sorry, pretty this is not. Alas you do wear glasses! Perhaps you must restrain your opinions a little.
It's a pile of junk.
