Well ..this is coke studio India and we Indians love coke studio Pakistan. We love regular Pakistanis ..nothing against them. Well doesn't matter which coke studio it is..this music is here since hundreds of years when Pakistan and India weren't two different entities.
It says "Rajasthani folk". Rajasthan is in India. Ram is an Indian name. I think you know India this much atleast now to differentiate between Coke studio India & Pakistan. With all due respect to both sides of music.

It is so great that you don't realize if it is Coke Studio Pakistan or India. Just goes to show how we are basically the same people - sharing the same heritage, same cuisines, same languages, and same culture for the most part. I am an Indian and owe several hours of bliss listening to Pakistan's Coke Studio songs, some other songs from their films, and watching some fabulous Pakistani dramas.
But this one was all Indian.

Ram Sampath is hell of an underrated music composer in the industry. An innovator, a genius, a prodigy of sort. He's been making music since he was in his teens. Hope you get to hear one of his earliest works, Colorblind. That had the sound of electronic rock before anyone could think of. I believe he was not even 20 when he produced that. That album came in 1999.
This has some brilliant musicians. Bhanvari Devi is a folk powerhouse, Hard Kaur's rap is one of the best Coke Studio (India) has ever witnessed. The guy on the drums, you feel his beats in your bones. Jai Row Kavi, is one of the grooviest drummers in the industry. (FYI, JRK plays drums for Divine, the guy whose Gully Boy tattoo is on Rick's hand). And above all, the main chef, Ram the Sampath. That man is a creative powerhouse.
(of course, by now thousand people have told you that this is Coke Studio India).
