Also throwing out medical terms unless you're a licensed medical professional and have been seeing this man as a patient it's unwise. It's also a quick way to tell a good psychiatrist from a trash one. You can't diagnose without examination.

It's obvious to everyone that this is a 30 second clip and clearly not the whole story, it's also obvious to everyone that the Dr. Phil show is going to edit things for drama because it makes good TV. Even if we saw the full show it wouldn't be the full story...that's how media works. I think you are severely underestimating the intelligence of the average viewer if you are assuming we are unaware of those facts or that they need to be stated. Some things are a given, and the internet as well as the media being full of more bullshit than reality is one of those things. Nobody in the comments section including myself is dumb enough to believe we are getting the full picture. But based on the clip, the full episode I did watch, and my personal experience with a mother who is a diagnosed narc my personal opinion stays the same. I never claimed to be a professional.
