@@breannacahoon358 Agreed. What people don't know or realize is that rat poison contains, among others, small traces of arsenic. And the reason there's only small amounts now is because, back in the day, there used to be FULL of arsenic, hence why many poisoners would use it to poison people.
Arsenic, if you don't know, is an extremely painful way to die. But it's also very untraceable unless a doctor is looking for it. And usually it's only found during an autopsy. So for SIL to "spike" the food with arsenic, she was definitely trying to not just kill OP, but her child. The fact that it made Jamie sick to the point of hospitalization, there's a good chance it would've killed the baby. SIL knew absolutely what she was doing.
I seriously can't wrap my head around why anyone would accept food from someone they know hates them. For real, keeping that a secret is just wild!
