I love watching videos of my home! I yearn to move back…I grew up in Fortuna. My dad worked at PL in Scotia! I lived in Campton Heights on Wood St! Thanks so much for the video!!!❤
I am so thankful for this video. I took this special drive in 2018 and it was so incredibly moving. I always dreamed of living in the Lost Coast, but life happens. I feel lucky that i got to experience this beautiful piece of my life on a clear (rare) day. This is a memory I will cherish forever. I live in Central Texas, and there is no way to describe how enchanting and completely surreal this area is. My heatt skipped a beat when I saw Sugarloaf Island. I will return someday... until then her memories remain bittersweet in my heart. Thank you for this beautiful video.
@@richardbutler9484 We appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching. We hope to show you more places to visit while you visit in your van! Stay tuned!✌️😊
So breathtaking, all the trees and the colors and the natural beauty of this wild, remote place. The ocean, the dark hills, oh I just love it. Thank you for taking us on this ride.
Great video! My ancestors crossed the Oregon Trail in 1851 and helped settle Petrolia (then called Mattole). Even though I now live in Boise, I still get down there every couple of years and make that drive.
I love it. One of my favorite drives. I met my now wife back in 2003 and her mom lived in Petrolia. I cant remember how many times we’d go and visit her, but we always made the trek up I-5 just to come in from Ferndale. Usually when we’d leave, we’d gone through Honeydew. This is one of those places that I miss about California. Absolutely recommend taking this beautiful drive if you’ve never experienced it.
I always wanted to take a drive up there. But e everybody tells me are you crazy they will stop your car and take your car away and you will be missing. But now I’m watching your drive thinking who is “they” I don’t see anybody around. I need to take a drive this summer!!! I love cold, misty and fog. Wish I lived there. I love that little Capetown. It would be nice to stop and take photos of those old farms
I found your channel by searching for Shelter Cove, as I hadn't been there since the late 90's. I most recently returned and filmed my own video of my drive from Redway to Shelter Cove. The Lost Coast is a very video target rich environment lol
Me too! And I met this beautiful sexy earthy girl in Arcata and ended up staying with her for three weeks and it was wonderful. Then I got on my bicycle and continued south!
I used to drive this route once a week 45 years ago. This video was good for my soul. Dam how time flys

I'm watching this in Austin. I'm saving money for a van to go camping and this is definitely one place I will visit. Cheers!

This is great going to Petrolia without the drive up the Wildcat!

Oh deer!
Black-tailed deer. There was a second one after the first by the side of the road. Had to slow it down to see it.
i saw it and said ANIMAL lol
Should’ve gone left at the top of the hill.
I'm drawn to The Lost Coast. I'm inspired to do this. What time of day was this drive?
