- The Lost Coast trail is a remote, 25-mile hiking trail that runs along the least developed section of California's coast. In this episode, my buddy and I backpack the world famous trek and see some stellar views along the way.

Jonathan you should be getting paid for doing this show you are doing a great job and I love the scenery I watched on TV these guys they would go to different countries and talk about it and go through the food markets and all that would be nice to you to have a job because you speak very clearly and you seem very smart person keep up the good job I just love your videos take care

Try using silicone storage bags instead of ziplock. Those plastic bags aren't rated for boiling water and will release bad chemicals into your food! And the silicone bags have bases so it won't tip over 😂

We hiked this about 4 years ago, unfortunately didn’t get to do the whole thing. But had the same experience in the middle of the night, full moon, animals all around. Such a beautiful hike.

That was absolutely beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing the experience. And walking miles upon miles over beach rock vs. talus, hmm... IDK. I can talk to stomping up and over crumbly talus all day long. Not so much the beach but I think I feel you there. It's just the price of entry for the best shows on Earth :)
It's very pretty up through that area, if you're ever near Florence, OR. It's very beautiful there, and also there is a beach near the sea lion caves too. The Haceta Beach Head. Check it out near June :)
I also suggest some bear mace at least, I've seen a couple baby bears and momma bear up in that neck of the woods.

I don't usually comment but had to with this video. I first saw the Pacific back in 1963 and fell in love with it. I hadn't seen it again until 2018 when I went to the PNW with my daughter. When I again laid eyes on the ocean I was awestruck! I now miss being able to see it, hear it but your video gave me almost the same feeling that I had after all those years. Thank you for the content you create Jonathan! I love watching your adventures :)

bro if you ever wanna change things up , or looking for new trails check out Big Island, Hawaii can get some good return airfare 150 bucks+, it is so beautiful & absolutely worth it! Bring an ultralight tent and its' fun

Thats a cute one, try the beach hike from Klamath to Crescent city. You will need dry bags, Finns and wetsuits. Its the most beautiful part of CA nobody sees.

Oregon is beautiful but this trail is in Northern California :)
Yeah, the rocky parts of the shore can be annoying, even painful after the hike. I was once hiking the beach on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. There were rocky stretches, even a few places where one had to hop from boulder to boulder. After the hike, my arches were very sore for several weeks. I wore hiking boots, but they were inexpensive and good enough for most Southern California hikes. I guess the soles on them weren't firm enough, so I went out and bought a more expensive pair that does better on rocky terrain.

I usually get WIDE for hiking boots. There was normal ones that are tight on the toes then the wide ones for the toes. And also maybe try getting 0.5 bigger in size :)
