Simple way to cut aluminium is to use a carbide tipped blade for wood. It works fine. And the blades are a lot cheaper then a metal cutting blade! You kids are doing great, Keep up the good work!

Buy some steel toed flip flops
You two ROCK. Love the new camper and what you are doing to take a old rig and make it look new and functional. All you need on that is a Offroad bumper, some rock sliders and a couple of light bars as well as some brighter reverse lights and you are set for any roads you want to travel.
Why hire expensive professionals when you two are quite adaptable to create and work on anything. This was the first time I have ever seen a guy flip the bed of a truck in flip flops. Congrats on a job well done. It looks like a badass little camper.

Put a harbor freight winch on the front. Extremely useful to have(I installed an outboard with mine recently/strap over a tree branch) and really makes a vehicle like this look "purposeful" even though it already looks it. You can get a winch tray and 12k winch for under $400. Love the paint job and it'll hold up like nothing else.

Putting some bags under the rear would help out a lot. Work the best and look the best. Best upgrade ever.

Lesson I learned form applying my own bed liner. be sure to scuff up the surface or it peals off really easy. Looking forward to seeing the new boat as well as the road trip.

Looks nice check out ultra fuse aluminum you can use it to make it stronger and you don’t need a welder, just a torch.
Perhaps you could put some vinyl wrap on that top piece that you weren’t sure you could paint. It would probably stick. If not, you could just peel it all off without it looking any worse than when you began. Just a thought. However, what you guys have done looks pretty remarkable. Good job.

You might have don this and already know for Corrosion reasons bolting aluminum to steel you should use stainless steel bolts and put a stainless washer between the aluminum and steel

You may find the aluminium rivets work loose after a bit of shake rattle and roll. They're very soft and have low shear strength. If you have to replace the odd one in the future use MONEL rivets...... Much stronger and compatible with aluminium . Great job on the refit guys. Your a lovely couple, all the best.

If I had your skills, instead of spending $600,000 on a pre-built cat, I would have built my own catamaran! Sailor John Glennie built his own trimaran, the Rose Noelle. The Rose Noelle was an incredible boat with all the amenities of a high end apartment, and best of all, she was unsinkable . Anyway, it is great to see you two living your dreams!

Hi Guys. A little tip that may help your gas fridge run better when you park for the night, make sure your van is level, the best way to do this is to put a small 2-way spirit level in the base of the freezer in your fridge and level the van to it. A gas fridge only works when it's level, and van fridges are only efficient up to 20 degree's Celsius ether side of the ambient temperature, and always remember to make sure the fridge vents are clear, hope this will help you
