Is it just me or the 2011 version looks the best to you guys as well?
Same for me
Depends. Because this movie is so old, as a movie collector I prefer the most original as possible. Some remasters are fine like the 1995 THX VHS Star Wars. This CGI yoda is a no no for me.
2011 Blu-ray cookin. 2020 4K HDR has some good ones too
I guess the colors aren’t too bad (they look pretty good), but dang, the picture still looks very waxy because of the DNR applied.
The theatrical edition's colors look way more better. And it's more colorful. I know this, since I downloaded 4K99.
Where did you get 4k99? @@hiattgrey9161
I just saw it in theater and the new master they used looked terrible on the big screen.
@@ghostviggen Yeah that was a shame, it sounded great but there was definetely something wrong with the image
I have the 2001 Widescreen DVD.
I only have the 📀 version of the phantom menace with a puppet yodaz
Esperemos otra version 4k. Sin DNR. Esta es un fake.
6:02 Doll Yoda
The 2020 Blu-ray version is packaged with the 4K version. The 2011 Blu-ray version is sold alone.
The 2020 versions are based on the Disney+ version.
Entre el bluray 2020 y 4k. Diferencia es minima.
2020 is cropped? Whyyy
All versions look like crud. Wish the grain was left in because it was shot on 35mm film.
I mean unless they blurred the whole image there's not too much you can do to remove grain from an entire film
@@charligoesslowlyinsane they don't have to remove the grain because Episodes 4, 5, 6 and 1 were shot on 35mm film stock. Have a look at the first 3 Indiana Jones films on blu ray or 4k. The grain is still there and it's very fine looking, therefore no detail has been scrubbed away and actors faces don't look like wax like Star Wars Ep 1.
@@FiftyShadesOfDave6603 I'm not sure you've understood my question? you said they removed the grain in your original comment. I'm saying I doubt that.
Nah the DVD looks fine. At least it retains the grain of the 35mm.
A lot of film and physical media enthusiasts are VERY protective of how a film is "supposed" to look and hate transfers that drastically alter color timing and stuff.
I'm more lenient as long as the film retains a filmic look. The 2011 blu-ray and 4K of TPM is utterly fucked over with DNR. Ugly, waxy looking people up and down that thing that almost totally destroys the film grain.
The blu-ray versions do shine in the fine detail and visual crispness you want from blu-ray, but the trade off with erasing the film grain is a bridge to far. DVD for me.
I hate it so much I rebought the old DVD and that's the version I watch.
I have the 2020 versions myself.
DVD wins.
No merece la pena recomprar.
