Sweet, man. Really good job. I just built a really similar bed frame! Mine is for a king bed though.

What a great, functional build. Way more satisfying that going buy the usual college furniture.

Thanks! I definitely agree. The main things I wanted the bed to be able to do were assemble without hardware and be able to store and transport easily.

Ayyy - my little bro built something similar based on Laura Kampf's bed. This would've been a very useful video to have back then haha. Thanks for sharing :) now I don't have to figure the measurements out when I make mine lol. Also say hey to the dog for me, looks like a 10/10 good dog.

Yeah I've gotten a few comments that it looks like Laura Kampf's which is funny to me because I didn't actually see hers until a few months after I had posted this video. But please send pics of your brother's bed! You can message me on Instagram or email me at bexarbuilds@gmail.com.
Also my old pup's name is Chesty and I'll be sure to give him a few extra pets today :)

How many slats do you need. I was thinking about incorporating this concept to a truck camper build that has fewer slats so it can be torn down quickly.

I used ten slats for this bed, but I think you could get away with using six without losing too much support. I've slept on six of them before, but I ended up going back to ten slats just because the support is better for the mattress long term.
In conclusion, if you're using it for a truck camper, six will do just fine. Especially if you're looking to assemble and disassemble it multiple times without wasting too much time.
Best of luck with the truck camper! I enjoy watching camper buildouts so please let me know if you post a video or timelapse because I'd like to see what you end up doing if you're comfortable sharing that.
