California spent billions to fight homelessness.
Homelessness rises in the UK as rents skyrocket.
Is homelessness worse in California or Florida? California.
For those of you wondering why stucco is bulging at the bottom of the wall.
Rainwater can be trapped inside the walls. The water can expand the wood, causing the stucco to bulge or buckle and then separate.
Folks, Mesh stucco vents can also lead to the rotting of underlying wood sheathing and structural members like studs.
We use advanced stucco that can be applied 6 inches thick if you know how to and why. Most don't. Vents are one of the simplest and most common sources of rainwater intrusion, so next time you see just the mesh ones on the southwest side of your home, consider the louver ones.
I leave you with two videos that show how we apply coat after coat of fast-setting stucco, one three inches thick and the other 6 inches thick.
    • Go-Devil Plastering by... Stucco thickness, how thick can you apply it?
    • Foundation repairs on ... Stucco is applied thick fix a concrete foundation.
I'd rather plaster any day than watch boring politics.

We have a growing homelessness problem here, too, in a town of about 10,000 in southern NM. One solution: we need more housing! There are no rentals left! (Too many Airbnbs?) There are folks ready to work, but they can't find a place to live!

Howdy Jennifer, the need for more housing seems to be the norm, then when built, the lowest cost of the smallest condo or apartment starts at 700, 000 thousand. Thus one step forward then two back. And no, I don't have a solution, as I'm just talking about what I noticed the day I had to go buy Louver vents at a hardware store. Morning Nic, I've been wearing long sleeve white shirts to work for close to 40 years, Why? The Lye that's in the stucco burns your skin, Lye will eat a hole in a floor, our skin isn't that strong. I had a car battery explode in my face about 35 years ago, It was Friday night, I was dressed up to go party, I quickly used water to clean my face of the battery acid, then got my ass back in the car using another battery and headed to the party. The next day my shirt and pants were shredded full of rips and holes created by the battery acid. It's the same thing with stucco.🕺🏽

    • @StuccoPlastering
      @StuccoPlastering  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Exzackory, there were multiple things going on that contributed to this bucking, all in all, the wood was still in excellent condition. We just relieved the stress. Wood expands when wet, over the years it gradually pushed against the stucco.🕵🏼

It’s not smoothing the wall that’s physically hard. It’s the mixing, getting the stuff on the wall and cleaning the tools. Over and over. Every day for 40 years.

The old northern and southern California raised foundation homes have moved, settled, expanded, and contracted and were often built on inadequate concrete foundations and slabs. Those old rim joists have dried out, buckled, cupped outward, and were poorly nailed with moisture over the many years often literally rotting out and rusting out many of the non-galvanized 16d nails that hold the rim joists to the floor joists. Also, the sill plates are held to the concrete foundations they sit on with inadequately spaced bolting that only properly updating and spatially retrofit/bolting the foundation to the rim joists and tieing the separation of foundation to rim joists to lock it all together to minimize future movement and avoid the continuing straight hairline stucco crack that will likely return.
Also, the separation of wood sill to foundation needs a weep screed "break" establishing separation from sill to foundation along with proper overlapping of above old black paper with new below paper with proper overlapping and solid attached lath-nailing/stapling of stucco. And stucco just should never be connected stucco-to-foundation. No amount of "concrete glue" or bonding agent connecting wall stud lathed moving stucco to solid unmoving concrete foundation as cracking will like recur as the old wood framed-stucco lathed house continues to move, expands, contract, settle, or suffers even occasionally mild or more aggressive seismic activity in the future.

Now the area has gotten bigger and has puckered to protrude and made a hole. if grass is water or rain near that area it goes up under the stuccuo at least 2 feet. the part that is protruding and has a hole is the color coat or top coat. I have called the guy who did the stucco for over a year. I have sent him pictures. He just says okay and ignores me. If its okay with you can I send you a picture so you can see what it looks like and tell me what you think.

Hey Kirk our boy Amos had some stuff to say about the homeless in chapter 5:
12For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
13Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.

You can't throw money at a problem like homelessness because it boils down to personal, individual decisions by people, and the mental illness of others. More money just attracts more wolves that will prey on the situation to make themselves rich.
Homelessness has turned into an industry some call the Homeless Industrial Complex. Today, we have more "Homeless Outreach" Non-Governmental Organizations(NGO's) than ever, and yet, there is record-number homeless on American streets.
Meanwhile, the CEO's of those NGO's make millions of dollars a year in salary,(And they have the nerve to call it "non profit", yeah right. If you believe that, I got a bridge to Asgard to sell you.) It's in their best interest to have as many homeless as possible, to keep big money rolling in.
We need more mental care facilities - you, know, like the ones that were closed down over the last 3 or 4 decades - and we need less regulations on small business so that people that don't want to work for "The Man" can have their own small business without Big Brother Government taxing them and regulating them to oblivion.
To boot, we have to try to stop hard drugs from hitting the streets. Weed may be ok, but, fentanyl isn't. It ruins lives like nothing we've ever seen, even worse than heroin and crack combined IMO.
Stop funding the NGO's whose workforce and managers make a living exploiting the Homeless Problem, make it easier for The People to have their own small business, stop hard - ruinous - drugs from hitting the street, and the problem will lessen, but never fully disappear.
