Leader on the buggy market since 2004, PGO continues to launch innovative new products. After 150cc and 250cc models, which are under-powered and fragile, this is the Bug Racer 500.
@MaltaWheels indeed , they changed to piaggio few years ago. They used to build their scooters with ducati-engines..until they started with the BigMax scooters years ago...they had problems with the engines and started to build up engines with piaggio-blocks and ducati-parts. 'Vespa' fe. did the same thing..they still use ducati-parts on the ignitions . Piaggio has some of the best quality engines nowadays.
Hi, I am a bit confused by this 500i... I got a bugraider 250 and its very fun to drive but a bit limited to make a adventure and cruising, then I thought on getting a BR-500 bigger, more fuel tank and assumed by some reviews that could get 100km/h at least, a bit more power also. So I got my BR-500i from 2009 last week... but as it stated on BR-500 legal papers, it says max speed 80km/h and 15kw/6750rpm power (almost 20hp) that is almost same as PGO Bugracer 250 :-( I hope at least will be more fuel economic :-( Looking further if this is a kind of factory restriction and if it is possible to overcome this. I hoped at least to travel 100km/h cruising.
Dont think so, i think the law in england is if it has a reverse gear is registered as a car.....? i know here in cyprus you can drive with both licence.
the best scooters and bikes are italian for me... have you driven a piaggio 500cc scooter or the newer 400cc one? apparently not!you'll be surprised how it delivers its power...1]10/10 piaggio for scooter 2]yamaha 3]honda 4] suzuki for scooters... i think it delivers its power very nice in 2 wheel,3 wheel[mp3] and this 4 wheel drive...why not?
its enough power for pretty much anything you want to do, better 13hp in a cheap, easily repairable and controllable package than 88hp in the exact opposite.
i had the same buggy 500cc in Ayia Napa, and its a pleasure to drive, with plenty of power
Well designed steering wheel...👍
