    1. Not drinking enough water
    2. Not detangling your hair properly
    3. Over-processing your hair
    4. Over-manipulating hair
    5. Using too much heat
    6. Lack of moisture and protein
    7. Not deep conditioning enough
    8. Your ends are damaged

    My routine: every 6 weeks I use the aphogee two step protein treatment. The first three weeks after that I use protein free conditioners and leave ins. And then I just use protein products after those first three weeks till it’s time for the aphogee again. Every 10 weeks I dust my ends (or whenever I notice my ends are tangled). Hair has been growing like crazy!

      @Lola Blue Lye is good for the hair, bad for the scalp. No Lye is bad for the hair, good for the scalp. Base your scalp well when using Lye relaxers. Try mild strength first.

    • @West_Indian_Aiyah
      @West_Indian_Aiyah 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Lola Blue No waiting period. You're welcome. 😁 Since you have been using no Lye, you most likely have calcium buildup and that is why your hair was breaking. I would chelate my hair first to get rid of minerals just to be safe. Make sure the shampoo says chelating and not just clarifying. Happy Hair Journey!

    My hair is brittle, ends damaged, breakage at crown, edges and widows peak thinning YET my hair is the longest ever been. I cut and trim my hair often but am tired of the constant breakage. So now I want a stylist who will just cut the split ends and not worry about my hair being even. I will use protective styles to cover the unevenness.

      Try doing a homemade treatment. 1 egg, 2 tbsp mayonnaise, 2 tbsp honey, a little olive oil, a little avocado oil. Add some conditioner (I use shea moisture honey & yogurt protein conditioner) to create a creamy texture. I usually mix it well and pour it in a bottle for easier application because it can tend to be runny. Saturate your dry hair with the mixture and cover with a plastic cap for 45 minutes minimum. Wash and condition as usual. This should help with your breakage. Good luck

I cant believe I did this, I forgot a Step when relaxing my hair, didn't use the kits Pre Relaxer Care Treatment first, and is something I know by hard.smh...I Realized I Forgot it later after completing the perm process; Didn't know if I should go ahead and put it in and neutralize-shampoo it out; I said to myself I better not ... I don't know if I made the right choice or not but now my hair is breaking off; should I have just used the prelaxer anyway, like maybe the next day, what can I do? What should I do? Oh and my scalp is itching, did I damage my scalp? Omg I sooo outdone!

      Try deep conditioning while your braids are in and when you moisturize your hair in the braids, make sure you're getting the hair in the braid, not just the scalp/the hair that is exposed at the roots. I had VERY LITTLE HAIR come out when I took it out.

    So, I need help. I got a relaxer after 3 years natural. I cut off all my damaged ends. This is my 3rd relaxer. I get one every 8-10 weeks. I am noticing breakage. Not severe, but when I comb, I see a few little pieces fall. Not much shedding. I am trying to stop the breakage and have tried everything. Not sure how. protein seems to make it worse. Oil makes my hair shed like crazy. Not sure what to do at this point. I also use Olaplaex and wash my hair regularly my hair isn’t Dry at all, it holds moisture well, so I am not sure why I am still getting breakage

    • @lizzieanderson6480
      @lizzieanderson6480 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I prefer creams and then oil afterwards to seal in the moisture. If you put oil first then the cream moisturizer you put on after will not penetrate into your hair. I use castor oil for my ends and I've noticed so much length in my hair.

    So maybe somebody can help me. I am concern relaxed but have no been consistent since high school. However, this past year I’ve been on my p’s and q’s about my hair. I get a touch up every other month. I’ve noticed that when I wash my hair, I get more “shredded” hair. I comb from the bottom and work my way up but maybe it’s just me but I’m scared. My hair has not done this while I’m washing my hair. Yes I expect SOME but the amount I’ve been having is not normal for me. Any tips or recommendations?

    I just relaxed my hair after 8 years and it's only been two days and I'm seeing long strands of hair falling out when I comb my hair , it's not a whole lot but I'm scared I don't want to start loosing hair then I deep conditioned it also after my relaxer but it still felt lil dry so I oil it with coconut oil and it made it better but I'm still getting a lil shedding with those long strands some short also . Do you think I should do a protein treatment or is this normal being I was natural for so many years
