Thank you, that really means a lot because I’ve been working hard on my skincare. This is the first time I did a foundation free makeup routine and I’m like wow, you’ve come a long way lol. Anyway, I got you!
Hey friend. My daughter is low porosity hair also. And I agree with everything you said. She’s almost to tailbone length. Congrats on your hair journey.
Hi! Thank you so much for watching. Congrats to your daughter! I'm thinking about trying to get mine to tailbone. Also thinking about doing a series to document the journey. What types of styles does your daughter usually wear? I'm thinking I may try and do a few months wearing mini twists (washing in between sets of course lol).
Congrats on your journey! Yes, split ends are no joke and only get worse if left uncut. I just gave myself a much need trim and my hair is thanking me for it lol.
Beautiful hair. You should keep growing it! You are an inspiration for me. My hair is chin length bob after cutting it to a pixie in jan 2023. Stopped maintaining that cut and style in may 2024. Now hair is evened off and in a bob. My goal is grow to your length while i can still grow healthy hair. I am 59 yrs and want to see if i gain attain, i eat healthy, excercise, take care of myself so I know i can get there. Thanks for your video, and sharing your tips. Much success to you!!
Thank you! Sounds like you're off to a great start. Keep doing what you're doing and I'm sure with time and a healthy hair regimen you'll get there. Please keep me updated on your progress. I really want to know how it's going!
Good insight! My mom is a licensed cosmetologist, so she taught me a lot about how to take care of my hair, but I also tuned into "TH-cam University" to learn some new things lol 😊
Just a quick tip for those not wanting to do so many steps, you don’t need to use both a rinse out and deep conditioner during the same wash. Hair strands can only absorb so much product so you’ll most likely be wasting product(money.)
Very true. A lot of times I will only use one or the other, unless I’m doing a treatment that suggests following up with a conditioner. I plan to do a follow up to really discuss my wash day routine. There were so many points I was trying to hit in this video.
Your hair so beautiful thanks for sharing all of the tips. I will definitely put them into use. Are you saying that you are also blow drying your hair weekly as you wash it weekly? Also, can you tell me more about how you diffuse your hair? I’m unfamiliar with using the diffuser and I would like to know more about it and see how it’s done and when it should be done. Thanks again and I would love to see the videos keep coming.
I am so happy that I found your channel. Your hair is so long and thick and healthy, and you're a low porosity girl too too. I'm too hyped to watch this video😂❤ Could you please give me the name of the Dew cream you were referring to in your video Please?
Hey girl, hey!!! lol. Yes, the cream from The Doux is called C.R.E.AM. It’s available on their website and at Sally Beauty. If you want the link to Sally, let me know!
Thank you for the video and sharing your successful journey, with your success being reflected in your beautiful afro textured hair. Question, what information or knowledge got you to waist length this time? To clarify, you stated that , 'I didn't know what I know now.' What was it that you learned that skyrocketed your length to where it is today that you didn't know before?
Thank you for your comment and for watching! Really just taking the time to learn my hair and what it needs/when it needs it. Not worrying about my curl pattern and focusing more on the other factors I mentioned. Things the like that. Before I also had no idea what porosity, density and all that other stuff meant or how it affects growth. Taking time to learn those things is what really helped me on my journey. And being intentional about what I eat and how what you consume plays a role in overall health of hair, skin, nails, etc. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions 🫶🏾
@@ItsTayia Thank you for taking the time to respond so quickly and with such detail. I appreciate it. You stated and mentioned these things in your video, too. Your success is predicated on increasing and deepening your knowledge about your hair, products and processes, over time. Is that correct? Thank you again for your time and the informative video.
@MsChicoro yes, that is correct! Once I gained this knowledge I was better able to understand my hair and what I needed to do to retain length. And of course, I’m happy to answer questions and engage with my community 😊
@@nickiawalker645 if I want my mini twists to last longer I’ll blow dry first. I don’t just blow dry and leave it, that’s asking for trouble for me lol. I’m going to do a video on my favorite protective styles! There’s about 3 or 4 that I rotate through.
@ OK cause in the video you didn’t mention if you did that I just assumed that you blow dry it and leave it out like how you have it in the video. I see a lot of girls are here seem to just blow dry and leave it. Looking forward to that video. For now, I’m just doing mini twists every month and plan to do it until I get to my goal. But I love seeing what other people are doing, especially people who are at my goal length. 🫶🏾
You give great, accurate and conducive advice and you’re so beautiful ❤ would love to see content like this make a comeback because this made me realize how much I miss when Black Women were uploading stuff like this on TH-cam on the daily. Please keep posting stuff like this. We have the same texture and length I feel so seen thank you so so so much for this!! ❤
This comment brought tears to my eyes. Seriously, thank you so much for saying this. You are the reason I do what I do. Your comment has inspired me to continue sharing my journey and include more educational style videos. I'm so happy that this video resonated with you and made you feel seen. Okay, going back into my corner to to shed more tears of gratitude.
@ Did not mean to make you cryyy😭I’m sorry. I do highly recommend you keep posting content like this tho. I’m a new subscriber for sure and would definitely love to tune in if this brings back a sense of norm from the nhc heyday. Don’t cry; your content is refreshing and inspiring. It’s precisely the kind of nourishing content we need to return to as Black Women, imo. Keep going. Be an example🫶🏽 You took my breath away.
Yessss! Her videos are such a breath of fresh air ❤️🙌🏽 I noticed she also responds to so many comments & uplifts each girl/woman in need of tips or general inspo. She’s really a gem!
Green Beauty TH-cam channel has a ton of good info for high porosity. Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive heavy cream is the best product for very dry type 4 hair! Good luck.
Looks like someone commented with some suggestions! Let me do a bit of research and see if I can find some folks on TH-cam who have shared their high porosity hair growth journey and I'll get back to you. If you don't get an updated comment from me by the end of the week, please remind me!
I have high porosity hair. I'm trying to get there but I got a long way.. I've retained all my length the last 5 months. What has been helping me is washing my hair every week. Making sure my hair gets the hydration, moisture, & protein it needs.
Great video! I will share with my daughter who appear to be your age. I’d love for you to address sistas your age who take meds like oral contraception and if you do too, how it affects your hair and your journey. TY
Girl drop the skincare routine you’re stunning 😆
Thank you, that really means a lot because I’ve been working hard on my skincare. This is the first time I did a foundation free makeup routine and I’m like wow, you’ve come a long way lol. Anyway, I got you!
The RevAir is the business! The best investment I’ve ever made for the health of my hair. Your hair is gorgeous 🥰, new subbie
It really is! And you just reminded me that I forgot to add my discount code to the description 😆
Same, Same! My hair started flourishing after I bought one!

Your hair looks beautiful|! I'm almost at waistlength myself, and you're right about clipping off those dead ends.
Congrats on your journey! Yes, split ends are no joke and only get worse if left uncut. I just gave myself a much need trim and my hair is thanking me for it lol.

Please do a video of your favorite hair products.

So it sounds like overall you just stretch your hair and blow dry it as you protective style? Do you mostly do mini twist or you just leave it out?

Beautiful hair keep the growing your hair long❤
Thank you! I keep going back and forth but since I'm so close to lower back/tailbone, I might try to get it there ... and then cut it lol.
Anyone get success with this with HIGH porosity hair?
