    Stretching your relaxer causes so much more breakage! The tension between the two different textures causes excessive shedding. Please don’t stretch more than 12 weeks ladies.

      I think it depends on how quickly your hair grows and also how manageable it is. I want to do a video about this soon 😊

      I agree. I wonder if my breakage is due to go beyond 6 weeks. I've been doing it at 8 weeks and now after 4 months and 3 relaxers my hair is breaking and shedding all over

      I have naturally extremely thick hair and just relaxed last December, with stretching and I remember in the past relaxing every 8-10 weeks without this much breakfast and dry hair. I see that stretching may not work for my hair

      Stretching 3 months for me has Caused excessive breakage (also stress) so I’m going to change to every 2 months and do a regimen and see if that works.

      I did a texlax and am going on 7 months without touch up and haven't had any problems between the new and old growth. I just keep that normalizing conditioner in my hair at ALL TIMES and it changes the game. But I DO NOT relax my hair or go bone straight. I only did 15 minutes and I still have most of the texture.

    0:11 seconds left photo. My hair was EXACTLY like this 12 years grown naturally. I did a texlax with mizani butter blend on the right side of my head as a test and I experienced excessive breakage on the ends, my ends look exactly like the right picture, to be about an inch longer than what your picture shows. My hair was past my shoulder blades, it was coming out in broken off piles. This was in part because where I live has hard water and I found out it's DESTROYING my hair, and also it was before I invested in the "Mizani Normalizing Conditioner" which has changed my life. My hair is now soft and completely different EVEN my natural hair on my left side is DRAMATICALLY different softer and I can run my fingers through it after using just the smallest bit of that product. I wish I had o gotten that product THE FIRST TIME I texlaxed with Normal Mizani Butter Blend, I'd still have all that hair that broke off, but I'm glad I didn't cut it off which is what I was going to do out of frustration. But the normalizing conditioner has changed my life. It has made my hair completely and totally manageable even the non texlaxed side.

      Do you get trims regularly? Do you have a hair routine that works? I have learned that those 2 things are a must for you to retain length. Good luck! 🤗

      @@itsMayama I used to get trims every 7- 10 weeks whenever I get a relaxer. And I do have a routine that I try to stick by. And thankyou so much for replying

    Thanks for tips and getting straight to the point. I've been going to salon every 2 weeks since June 2022. It's breaking badly now but has seemed to b thinning all along. My 3rd Design Essentials relaxer. Literally it's breaking in areas all over to very short pieces. I die neurofeedback with the gel parts in hair with seemed to accelerate breakage. Not sure if I should tell hair dresser stop blow drying and change relaxers??? Any advice?

    • @itsMayama
      @itsMayama  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm so sorry 🙁 sounds like you changed relaxers? I would just give your hair enough breaks between the relaxers, at least 8 weeks. Also get a good trim to get rid of the damaged ends. I'm so sorry. Hope this helps.

      @@itsMayama Went from natural to relaxer called Design. A new stylist I went too said I was overprocessed. It's strange bc the one who did my hair has been doing hair over 20 years. I liked her. I brought some products and they were expired so I wondered if relaxer could b expired? Also, had a test that had gel placed in my hair like sleep study in 4 different spots and my hair seemed to really deteriorate but it was thinning gradually. It was six weeks and it totally broke off down to new growth all over my head in different spots. It was weird

    My hair breaks off at the back like just above the nape in a circle it only happens when I sleep with it out, I have to loosely braid it every night if I don't have a protective style
