I have been chatting a guy that has cerebral palsy about building a rig. I stumbled on your video and I gotta say.....AWESOME BUILD. Very cool indeed, Race on Buddy! I plan to share this with him as he plans on build something similar, very good ideas. Thanks for sharing the ingenuity! Darren
Either you make furniture for a living or you darn well should. This looks better made than pieces people would spend thousands on and think they got a deal. That's not even taking into account your engineering skills putting this all together the way you did. What a dad man... What a man dad.
Mate... this is incredible! I'm a paraplegic and was looking for ways to adapt a sim wheel with hand controls but I wasn't expecting to feel feelings haha. What you've created is a bloody work of art, and you're love and devotion as a Father is inspiring!
This is exactly what I need to build for my teenage son with CP, he loves racing but will never be able to drive. Something like this is the best I could do for him. Some great ideas here I will definitely steal.
I'm speechless. You win the dad of the century award. It just kept getting better and better. When you pulled the shifter out and slid it in I was thinking "what would be really crazy is if he even put in a connector on the mounting mechanism so you don't have to deal with cables". Then you zoom in on the back of it and you have a db25. Genius!
This is the best thing I've ever seen. Your boy must be so happy!. I just can't imagine how proud you must feel, to give your son the chance of enjoying what he loves so much. Incredibly work and effort put into this. Dad of the Century Award !
What really stands out is the amount of work you've clearly put in to the finish of it. No loose cables, everything neatly accounted for and handled so there is no chance of hassles in the day to day use. To top it all off, it's a beautiful finish to the wood with not a rough edge in sight. Congratulations, this was beautifully done.
i have been simracing for over 25 yrs,i have played with both legs, with left leg amputated, now with both legs amputated, that setup is amazing, thx for posting, the idea for throttle and brakes are perfect,i use the paddles on g923 ,but you are limited not being 360 degrees like you said about the clutch, other people with disabilities might try 3DRAP in italy for a thumb controller,i just ordered one
Nice nice nice ideas.... Brake is awesome. I'm so happy that everyone can enjoy their simracing passion in spite of their difficulties. Congratulations for a great great job.
What a great setup you have created. I have parkinsons and will soon in a wheelchair all the time. Was hoping for a hand controls conversion to use the shift paddles as throttle and brake controls. Have seen this on a driving set from the Praga Co for one of their drivers to race with. His car is setup with the same controls setup makes a very nice package.
I never comment on youtube videos, but I just found this video posted at a simracing league site I am a member of and had to say something, though I am practically speechless. This is absolutely amazing! Brought a tear to my eye. Well done, absolutely well done!
Amazing. I myself used to sim race and became disabled about 5 years ago and am no longer able to use my legs and feet normally. This has inspired me to look at making something to get back into sim racing! Thanks for the video!
I don't know what to say.. This video gave me hope. Thank you. The rig you made for your son is so well done, the brake, throttle and clutch mechanisms, who would've thought of it that way? Bravo. Plus, thanks to you, nothing will stop your son from living his passion of sim racing! I gotta say he's a pretty good driver too! :) Sorry if my english is a little wrong in some parts, I'm French. :) Merci!
Couldn't hold a small tear drop. Congratulations sir, "you're the real MVP" like they say around the internet. Incredible how your son drives it around, enjoying every piece of daddy's masterpiece! Wish all the best to you and your family!
Absolutely brilliant, I'm looking at trying to make something similar for myself. I doubt it will ever be as well realised as this, as well as being an awesome dad you're a helluva craftsmen.
The engineering/designing behind the project is great, the intent even better and the result definitely shows you're an incredible dad. I'm sure he loves it :)
That is one sweet rig, you have given me a couple of ideas for modding my desk with that shifter mount, I plan on putting 2 joysticks on my desk for tank sims and for Elite dangerous.
Amazing. I’m in awe of your ingenuity and craftsmanship. Imagine playing Star Citizen on your setup. Get to that joystick with your D-sub connector fabricated, if you haven't done so already. Again great job and I cant wait to see more from you guys.
This is amazing! You have put so much love into building this for your son. We have a good friend in our gaming community that has CP similar to your son. We would love to speak with you about options for him. We will be reaching out soon. :)
this would be the dream desk for me and every other simracer, i was always planning a desk like this in my dreams;) i cant belive how much work it was to create this rig
Holy shit what a dad :) inspired af. To be honest im on the look for some solutions for myself and i was wondering if you can help me out, i only have one leg and im having a trouble finding a solution to make myself competitive enough with everyone in GT and drifting, for that i need clutch and brakes on hands somehow.. If you have any ideas or if youre free to talk with me sometime i would really appreciate it. Thanks :)
That's a damn brilliant build. Only annoying part is that paddle shifters would get in the way of throttle, but he seems to be handling the stick fine enough. Now buy him Assetto Corsa on Steam, Nordschleife Nurburgring DLC coming soon!

Now all you need to do is make yourself a 'Dad of the Year' trophy

Best Dad ever, your son looks incredibly happy. I hope that I can even be a 1/10th of a dad that you are to my Son.

That is absolutely amazing! You're a great dad.
Probably one of the classiest homemade racing sims I have ever seen. You inspired me to finally build my Elite Dangerous cockpit.

Glenn. You are the man,
Give this man a trophy. Great work!

Sim rig, but it's for future James Bond.
Honestly, this is really cool even when seeing it on 2022.
There is a ton of ingenuity and creativity going on here. Good thinking.
Damn fine job, dad!

Nicely done Glenn,very ingenious build
Absolutely incredible ;-) Everything you've done makes it very easy to access all the controls for just about everything you need. Very well done!
