I've tested one as well and wanna add up a few things: it is almost impossible to use buttons on the wheel! especially on some tracks, where you're turning all the time (nordschleife for example). also, turning more than 270° is also almost impossible, otherwise you have to release your hands, that way losing control of your epedals. Besides that, it is a very interesting wheel for sure, and i do love that they're trying out new technologies
As a paraplegic sim racer I think it's great to see something like this coming to market. Without trying it I can't say for sure if it would be any good, but what I can say is that using clutch paddles, as I see suggested below, is great until it is not - at least on my Asetek Forte button box. When I get into a turn with anything more than 90 degrees of lock it's really difficult to hold the paddle at the bottom of the wheel, and this must have a similar problem for both buttons. I can (and have) configured both paddles to operate as throttle but then you need a separate brake solution. I prefer realism so for the brake I am always going to use a handbrake mounted backwards - a brake lever is what I have in my real car, it's good enough for Alex Zanardi, and it allows for true feel just like a brake pedal. Throttle is the challenge and I don't have a perfect solution for that yet - I have both clutch paddles configured as throttle but I also have a hand throttle device from 3dRap that I prefer. Alex uses a ring behind the wheel rim, but that is a difficult thing to emulate on a sim racing wheel / wheelbase.
It seems like a cool idea, but I think that wheels with clutch paddles do it a bit better. You can set them up to be your throttle and brake and due to them being physical paddles, you can learn how much you need to press the paddle to get the input you want.
OC Racing, you literally did a better job marketing this product than Cammus has! Even if this was a sponsored video it would have better than anything Cammus has put out to explain what this product is! Great job dude!
The Thrustmaster SF1000 has the ability to map brake and throttle to the clutch paddles. So pretty cool their options out there for people who could use these.
Fanatec (Corsair) McLaren GT3 wheel can also be set for throttle and brake instead of dual-clutch, but the Camus seems indeed first to use the sensor for this.
@@Bl8nkk Moza. Moza is the brand ecosystem I wish I had started with because they are putting out everything and at a competitive price and great quality.
@@Bl8nkk saying fanatec is just complete bs, terrible service, very high prices and not long lasting producst (keep in mind, i never had a fanatec wheel and i'm just basing my opinion of other's experience), i would say moza is good, and with logitech's new wheel hub and accessories its climbing to the top
I think the SF1000 wheel from Thrustmaster has done this a LOT better, it may be expensive but using effectively clutch pedals. May be something to look into.
If I were them, I would market this as Version 2. Make it available through out as an addional feature and keep production cost low by not having another production line. Its a great innovation though especially for disabled racers.
Right up until you buy their product and it's flatlined out of the box, at which point the nonexistent customer support does fuck all to help you or anyone else
Hello are you still shipping the strengthening kit for the F-GT? I read something about it in your comment under TH-cam, but I don't have a kit myself and would really like to have it. Thank you!
you will need new padels with in a couple of month, im easy on mine and both broke with in a week of each other, just glued them till my new ones arive
If you're thinking of buying from them, DONT!! I had my shifter sensor break and they will just ghost you. Best they can do is send you new pedals. Guess what? It doesn't matter if the sensor underneath is broken. I ended up giving up and shelling more money for Fanatec. I get they're going for innovative idea but when a new wheel breaks multiple times in less than 6 months, it's just not good enough.
It's definitely out-the-box thinking, which is never a bad thing even if it's ultimately a failure. I think small analogue paddles would've been a better choice here. Main problem I see with this is that you'll develop unnatural habits and no pedal control skills at all. You'd effectively have to re-learn natural driving skills when upgrading to something more traditional.
I'm not in love with simracing without pedals. cool idea for people who need it & kids to begin and understand how to drive quicker. This product is between a controller and a full setup to drive.
No matter how innovative it is I have zero interest. My sim rig is designed for max immersion (thus the title simulation). Driving without pedals is like flying without pedals. Just no. Yes, this is awesome for handicapped racers and fills a real need but I'm not and so it's not for me. Thanks for previewing it.
I rarely ever feel the need to reply to people, but your comment added nothing, said nothing, and showed how out of touch with reality you are. The fact you addressed that this is meant for racers with disabilities, but still felt the need to flex you "max immersion" rig is a different level of tone deaf. Please step away from your computer and next time you feel compelled to leave a comment... just no. Self reflect and grow from this moment.

This is very true! Disappointed I didn’t bring it up
I think using back paddle and have the thumb to shift up and down is a far better idea

excellent video Os, I love it... it's really nice this kind of innovations

Cammus needs to give us more steering wheels
Yeah, a lot of sim companies lack at doing that unfortunately

this thing is quite cool, and as you said, it's quite innovative
Would've loved to see an input trace for the brakes, to see how much modulation you can get with your thumb.
I would think shifting would be better suited to the on wheel buttons the paddles could be better used for throttle and brakes.
What should I start with? I’m asking fr a g920 for Christmas and idk witch hand brake I should get. Please help me plus, I live ur vids.
G920 is a good starter wheel! Will you be on PC?
if you want a g920 check out used ones, you might save a lot of money
as goosiest once said: "get a 100$ handbrake from e-bay"

My sf1000 and dd extreme wheel can do the same thing with the analog paddles.
