Thanks for this, I'd searched on the net for this info and was confused by some sites saying to leave gas in, and some that said not to. Your vid has cleared this up perfectly. Thanks!
You are absolutely right. I've had my first crosman 357 since 2017 and have always left my co2 in there and it still fires well. The fps for non lead pellets is up to a 557 and lead 470-503. Maybe it's the age but I only use the 357 vigilante, got 3 of them😎
Thank you Sir in advance. This is a serious question. I liked the 84fs and planning to buy it for specific reason. We are.planing to go for lengthy camping and touring nationwide. The 84fs looks original and sounds original and in case we want to warn a threat, we will fire it in the air. Here the issue arises. If we keep the capsule with a drop of oil over extended period of time, may be one year of our tour, the seal may get damaged and there is no chance of getting the replacement seal over here. So the costly gun is useless. Alternatively, If we do not keep the Cartridge loaded.and think of loading it AFTER facing the Man or Animal, it's laughable. So what's the solution. We are not from US and only CO2 pistols are to be used. Which pistols you suggest for keeping the cartridge at least for one year.
Im new in Co2 guns so I have 3 questions... how many days (weeks?) can I leave a Co2 capsule in my Smith & Wesson M&P 45 pellet/BB gun .177? ... does "3 on 1" oil works to lubricate the Co2 capsule? ... how come some guys use steel BBs in a rifled barrel, does it harm the barrel?... thank you very much for your answers and patience!
Thanks. I just purchased the Gamo P25 CO2 pistol. Does this pistol have a quad seal? If so, how long can you leave the CO2 in the gun? I will be using oil everytime that I install a CO2 cartridge in the gun, but if I leave the CO2 in the Gun for a week or a month, can it eventually deform the seal? Last question I have not used the gun yet. Do these manufacturers use any kind of preservative coating in the barrels that I need to remove? If so, what’s the best way to remove it?
there is no time limit but like all co2 guns over time you lose a bit of air here and there nothing is 100% air tight but even ager 5 months my 2240 still has plenty of power in it
Thank you for the info. What do you think about the t4e walther ppq .43 cal? I'm hoping I can keep it charged and change the 12 gram CO2 cartridge once a week or less because its not easy to pierce in a defense situation.
I have a Crossman 180 that I've had since the 5Th grade , I send it out a few years ago to have all the seals replaced . Can you give me any information on this gun as far as maintenance , should I store a gas cyl in it or not etc . If you have a Crossman 180 , it would be great if you did a video on it . Thanks for your time and your interesting videos .
+John Tardif usual stuff wipe the gun down with pelletgun oil or 30wt non detergent motor oil time to time and about every 2nd bottle a few drops on the tip of the bottle before you put it in so it can get oil in at the inner seals and a drop of oil every few hundred shots on the bolt oring thats about it .. you can store the 180 with gas in it yes
thanks for all your info on air guns, especially on the 1377. I was wondering if you knew whether to store co2 in the beretta cx4 storm and the hammerli 850.
yes you can and you should and well you know eventually it can just empty out over a long period of them no air gun is 100% perfect seal up they all lose gas over time make sure to use the proper oil every 2nd bottle of gas on the seal so it can work into the inner seals as well a few drops only is needed
no idea i never had one so i cant tell you nore have i seen the valve and seal diagram again cant tell you ..but given you are talkng about full auto iam going to go with no even the semi auto ppks can not have co2 in them all the time and more and more pellet guns are going that way as well.
Great informative video! Wondering about how long I can leave Co2 in the umarex legends lever action cowboy rifle ? If I leave it in at all? You seem a lot smarter than me ahaha Thanks (ps I always use oil on capsules and other available co2 seals)
Q: What is the best option for a gun that will be used for home defense, something I can access and use immediately in an emergency situation .....something effective and powerful.
i dont recommend you leave gas in that gun for more then a few days .no 3 in1 oil is bad for the gun,, use pellgun oil or sae 30 non detergent motor oil.some guys use steel bbs in a rifled barrel cause they dont care if the wreck the rifling in their barrels

yes and for as long as you like just keep in mind over time all airguns all airguns do bleed out co2 here and there its part of the laws of the universe and physics
Kevys Rc & Music Thanks for the quick response. Just got my crosman 2400KT and I’m waiting for SAE30 ND oil and moderator before I shoot it. Read most places that co2 cartridge should NOT be left in pistol. With your information I won’t be throwing away co2 cartridges before they’re full empty. :)
Kevys Rc & Music I think you replied more clearly to my question yesterday. I believe you stated in a Crosman 2400KT you can leave the cartridge in without harming the gun. You also stated that after some months it does lose some pressure because nothing is a total seal & the laws of physics apply. Based on that answer I will leave the co2 cartridge in my pistol (perhaps at most 6 months at a time) and not worry about seals going bad.
its safe to leave co2 in any co2 gun its just that alot of them it will damage the seals the colt defender id say no dont leave the co2 gas in it all the time
do not leave gas in that gun other then when you are shooting it then take out the bottle do not store it with co2 same goes for all the umerx guns as well
