Thanks for the revisit video, my "Battlefield Weathered" pellet shooting Webley is one of my favourites. Been collecting Real Gun Replicas for a few years now and have quite a few of them, modern and historic models.
It's funny, a bunch of the guys on one of the Airgun Forums I visit used to be skeptical of CO2 pistols,.... until lockdown, and now many have CO2 replicas and 6m ranges in their garages : -) This reminds me, I need to order a couple more 14cm pellet traps.
The army issued MkVI had fixed rear sights too (there was a target model for private market with adjustable sights). The replica is correct in that regard. Original grips were bakelite not wood. The front sight was actuallly replaceable (in case it got damaged); here it is just molded. And one minor detail: the fake shells are smaller the original .455 cases (closer to .38). I have the pellet version and can hit consistently the standard 10-m air pistol target at 20 yards (for that type of guns, that's very good results).
In 1916, Lieutenant Pritchard invented a bayonet for trench warfare to fit this gun. It was a commercial failure and only about 200 were made. I bought a Chinese replica which fits this gun. HOWEVER (!) it needed a lot of corrective filing but worth while to add to the historical homage.
Nice review! Seeing that today I received my MK VI. Weathered beautifully. The detail is superb. Nice grip which allowed my smaller hands to get a good grip. Then it hit me as I became Michael Caine in Zulu. I began to yell Fire. It passed quickly. The Ledgened series is marvelously addictive. Time machines and they shoot darned well. Thanks for the great videos!
Nice video Andy as always. Its great to see the rebel doing the introduction, he's a great guy with nice reviews.( love to see a collaboration). I glad there not much in the branded and unbranded co2 as I get good deal of Lloyd at B.A.R they do 25 12g capsules for £8.95. Great work Andy.
Just bought one of these from a curio shop. It's like brand new but unboxed. I was rather confused because on the side it says .177 (4.5mm) BB, but it has a rifled barrell. Now I always thought that you didn't shove steel BB's down rifled barrells, but watching this vid, it also says .177 (4.5mm), but shows a symbol for a pellet, so I must conclude mine is a BB pistol. I used to have a genuine .455 way back in the day and I am well impressed with the authenticity of this pistol.
Well I’ve finally got one the same and I’m seriously impressed with the build and accuracy. I do have two reservations though. The quality of the grips are poor and the rear sight should have been adjustable. Need to find wooden grips.
I own the Black one in 4.5mm BB, and i love it:) You should mention that the ASG Schofield Cartridges are 1:1 the same and you can shoot BBs and Pellets with the BB Version perfectly fine, Pellets work even better as with the Schofield
Have been comparing this replica MK6 to my original live example , its very close apart from none steel bluing . . I have an example of each model made and none were fitted with a wooden grips . so yours presents correctly . Very good video , thank you .
I have both a 177 and 22 version of this gun, first time I've shot 22s in years l forgot how big they were compared to 177s l just got the 22 on Friday the 18th Nov 2022, fired it the next day around 70 pellets to 1 x12g co2 cartridge. Very accurate too.
This is a superb pistol, beautifully crafted. excellent to handle, accurate ~ feels so right in the hand. One of my top favourites from my collection of some 20+ air guns. /
the original version did not have wood grips they where a type of baker light . i had the 1913 version 455 no firearms ticket required for it .very nice
any new vids coming up?? love this stuff man, just got back into air rifles didnt know they had gotten this good LOL ty for what you do man, have a good day
Bought the BB version today, bargain price on offer at £130, quite accurate and very nice to shoot, but surprisingly loud as it echoed round my garden, very impressed beautifully made.
Another good video buddy; one that will go into my personal collection offline. This gun is on my 'GOTTA GET LIST'. But I want to get a weathered one, if possible. I know that they are/were made in an airsoft version. If I can't find one this side of the pond, I'll just get one and weather it myself. On this side of the pond the pistol also comes with an old (replica) 1937 Small Arms Training pamphlet. Also, as to a bit of history. The triangular pieces of metal, on each side, in front of the cylinder was so that it could more easily slide into an holster w/o snagging. As to being a fan of historical replicas; ALL of my guns are replica based, albeit some are of newer guns, such as the Uzi & Browning Buck Mark URX. Like you, I have my Luger, 1895 NGT, 2 Mosin Nagants (M1891 & M1944).
Thanks, an excellent review. I have one of the black ones, it feels good in your hand and it's easy to use. However, don't leave the gas cartridge in place after shooting. Either use up all the gas or take the cartridge out when you have finished. When I have this pistol in play, I am always mentally in 'Zulu' mode!
Sir .. plZZzz Whaaat is your opinion about Dan Wesson 715 ...2.5 co 2 air revolver ...Jule below 3 .....am a passionate of Dan Wesson ..loving Revolver most ..even if I have berretta pistol ...alslo coke bullet ....highly interested in gun matter till child hood ..now 40 yrs ...reply plzzzzzzzzzzz💕💕💕💕
About that CO2 brand testing... Could you possibly test the Walther Pure CO2 brand also with this gun and those pellets used? I'd be very interested to see the results of the Walther CO2 brand..
Nice review. Realistic replica airguns like this are becoming very popular even here in the USA where the real thing is available. Airguns are a lot less expensive to buy and shoot, and you don't have to drive 100 miles just to find a shooting range. Just set up your own personal range in the backyard or indoors.
thank you for your precious videos. I have a question about the power of the Webley MK VI. In your videos i see many differebces in the power of this gun. What is the real power? I see that: in one video the webley mark 6 with Exact RS Diabolo 0,475g / 7,33 grain has 3.46 joules, another test reports: BSA 8,64 grain 2.65j and BSA 6,64 grain 2.66j in this video: Exact RS Diabolo 0,475g / 7,33 grain average joules 3.78 max joules 4.02 H&N Sport Field Target Trophy Green 0,36g / 5.56 grain average 4 joule max joules 4.14 can you explain me please because i would like to buy this gun but only if it has more power than my Gamo PT80. Thanks a lot.
Hi Andy, I assume, since you are doing it, that it's OK to dry fire the Webley without CO2? ( I emailed Webley and Scott twice asking this question but they haven't responded, nor do they have a working phone number. Apparently they must want their customers to never contact them).
at 500 fps got to be one if not the most powerful replicas going in the uk too which makes me wonder what is the most powerful revolver and normal replica air pistols have you come across @AAR
Always wanted a Webley/Fosbury automatic revolver, but I never seem to have a spare $14,000 laying around. And unfortunately, to date, the only Webley Mark revolvers I've come across were .455 converted to .45ACP. Someday I'll find one in .38/200 in decent shape.
Anyone who chooses to shoot .45 ACP in an original MkVI should use only reduced-pressure handloads, otherwise the cylinder is likely to crack. That's what happened to mine after shooting military surplus .45 ammo.
Damn it !! I REALLY shouldn't like this pistol , ive never been into replicas at all .. I even went into the review thinking " I'll take a look but at the end of the day its the same old same old replica " but you know what ? ( and im banging me head on my desk ) I ACTUALLY LIKE the bloody thing ... " christ on a bike " I never thought id say that ... its nice ...its very nice ...would make a seriously good tin can basher down the garden ... Mmmmm shows coming up in February ..who knows ...
Is that release catch on the barrel stiff enough to avoid casual release ? Is the barrel end opening 0.45 or 0.38 ? I looks oversized at 0.45 when it should be smaller.
Great video Andy, but I have to say I've never seen the real thing in this finish. I own the .177 gunmetal finish version and the 6mm BB gunmetal. Even these, pristine as they were, did not look right to me. Both have now been given a battle-worn look. And this my point, the nickel-plated finish just looks too perfect and shiny. This obviously is only my personal opinion though....
I bought this pistol with that finish and I hate it, one of the ugliest guns I own but would never ever sell it, I'll just keep growling at it whenever I look at it. Only fired it once to make sure it was ok and it just sits in its box in the cupboard never ever to be fired again.
I own one of these beautiful guns in "Exhibition Style" (as shown in the video) - which means its surface is shiny silver/chrome. It is one of my favorites in my gun showcase. I would pay some money to get wooden grips IF wooden grips would have been the historical correct choice for this revolver. But, I'm not shure about this. Maybe, I will do some investigation on what is the right grip style for this service revolver... In the very beginning I did only see pistols - since they were mechanical wonders to me. But, after diving deeper into the history of the world of fire guns I opened my heart to revolvers too. And I found them beeing ingeniously constructed and very reliable guns.
The original grips were hard rubber or bakelite. I used to shoot a real Webley MkVI. At first I thought it was the ugliest revolver I'd ever seen, but as time went on I grew fond of it. It was very well fitted, accurate and had an excellent single-action trigger pull. The break-open action made it quick to load and quick to simultaneously eject all the empty cartridge cases. If I could find a good one for a reasonable price I'd buy it in an instant. Incidentally, Kleins in Chicago used to sell these along with many other surplus military guns. Prior to 1968 they could be shipped directly to the customer via parcel post. I think the Webleys cost about $25 in Very Good condition.
@@MaxTalbot69 Hah when l first saw the Webley years and years ago l thought what an ugly looking thing, but like you it's brutal looks grew on me and l now consider it a beautiful looking gun, it aims naturally and feels great in the hand, and if you ran out ammo you could easily bludgeon the enemy to death with its heavy frame lol.

I used to wonder about those "triangular pieces of metal". Thanks for the explanation!
Crosman CO2 cartridges are $2.49 for 5 at my local store. I just ordered the weathered look Webley revolver.

What is the material of metal?
I am sure that I am not wrong that they were never made in stainless or nickel coated. At least none of the original ones that I have seen.
Hi Andy, do you know when the. 22 4" barrel will be released? I remember reading about it some months back but haven't seen any news since. Thanks.

The Mk6 was never in .38 if that's what you're saying, only in .455.

They did adjust it to 38 by the time ww2 broke out.
