Kevin I've watched several of your videos and I find them extremely well done and informative. My question is where can I find your website? I've watched all your videos and you mention it but I have been unable to find it. I'd like to buy some 2240 grips.
well you can look up molly lube mod stuff problem is about every couple years you have to tear the gun apart clean it up really well then redue it again and its more costly really, you also have to make sure you don't use the stuff on leather seals so check your piston seal out first before doing it.when it comes to springers i rather just use the silicon chamber lube
Great and ACCURATE information! Follow his lubrication routine using Crosman pellgunoil, and the gun will work properly and last forever! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Hi Kevin, I realise this is an old video, hope you are well. Thanks for this info.I'm a novice and about to buy a Crosman 2250 XL. Just for back yard plinking. I'll save this video and get into the habit of following your advice.
Thanks Kevy. Your videos are my main source of information for my new 2240. Btw, I accidentally stripped the screw under the bolt by using the wrong hex key. That’s the screw that holds down the breach. Do you have any idea if we can buy that screw anywhere? I read somewhere that it’s a 4-48 screw, but not sure what that means. I see 4-48 screws being sold on some websites, but the diameter of the head, the length of the screw and the distance of the thread need to be correct for it to fit properly. Not sure how to read those specifications. Would prefer to get them from a air gun store where they specify that it would fit a Crosman 2240
your welcome and ok so the 4-48 screws should all be the same however Crosman will have the proper screws either way 4 is the head size and 48 is threads per inch
Very informative video's. I just bought a 2240 and the bolt will slide down after I have cocked it if I don't hold it at an angle when trying to put a pellet in. Does the bolt normally stay back when loading? Thanks.
+Kevys Rc & Music Thanks. It just seems that most of the video's I have seen seem to show the bolt staying put after cocking. Appreciate the quick response and like I said earlier, I like your video's being really concise and to the point.
Great video! I just pulled a rat catcher out of the loft that’s been there for 10 years, do you think all the seals will need replacing or can I just lube them like this video?
use gun oil and you will FK all the seals do youll need a full rebuild kit new valve stem as well. as for getting the rest of that crap out of the fun lighter fluid then rubbing alcohol clean it all out good then reseal then use the proper stuff.. like pelgun oil or the best i have found is SAE 30 NON Detergent Motor Oil
I have a Cross man 180 that I've had since 4th or 5th grade , I sent it out and had all new seals put in it . I figured it can't be much different that the gun you were showing how to oil .
+John Tardif there are pretty basic for oiling just make sure to use the right oil SAE 30 Non Detergent motor oil or Crosman pellgun oil i prefer the sae 30 my self its given me alot longer seal life
Everyone ask how long can you leave a co2 in the gun my QB 78 my crossman 2240 and some of my other co2 guns i only shoot a couple of shots at a time cause I don't want to use up too much co2s so sometimes I leave it in for weeks or more no problem and in between i shoot my pumpers or Springer's
how long you can leave co2 in any airgun for depends onthe airguns QBs and 22xx airguns you can leave it in as long as you like but there are many airguns you can not do this with or it causes premature break down of the seals
Hey Bro, what store can I find the SPECIFIC TYPE and SIZE oil you are using in this video??? When I Google "SAE 30 Non Detergent Motor Oil", all I get are large bottles of motor oil for cars.
Hey i hope somebody can answere this after that long time Is silicon oil ok vor using on my crosman 2240 ? (Special silicon softair oil) I hafe a Lot of it And i dont want to damage my airgun
Kevys Rc & Music.. I want the extended barrel the upgraded steel breech, the extended nose bolt and anything else that can be changed to bring my 2240 as close to 500 FPS as possible.. TIA
@@jeffburt6951 what lenght of barrel do you want ? also the extended probes slow you down been there done that burnt the book on that mod,.steel breech for sure thats easy. where in canada are you provience?i have been modding and tunning these things for years so iam really good at what i do to get these things close to the 500 fps limit , are you planning on making this like a carbin rifle setup or still a controlable pistol setup which is the reason i asked about barrel length .. also are you still wanting open sites or are you going to use optics like a scope or reddot

Any particular brand of non detergent motor oil?
Great video! I just pulled a rat catcher out of the loft that’s been there for 10 years, do you think all the seals will need replacing or can I just lube them like this video?
try and see if not then new valve stem new seals and youll be 100%

you can leave gas in the 2240 all the time
Thanks for the tips . Does it hurt to leave a full CO2 cylinder in the gun while in storage ?

Hi, I have a question:
Should SAE30 Non Detergent oil be mineral or synthetic?
In Europe SAE30 Non Detergent are a rarity and mostly mineral.
just use any SAE 30 non detergent motor oil
