I love how Donald Miller's book is the first on the list as I'm a huge fan of Story Brand and Business Made Simple. But the book on this list I'm going to read first is Million Dollar Consulting. I'm a fan of Jordan Peterson who said in an interview that, "If you can write well and you can speak well, your deadly." The book I'm reading right now with the most impact is The Millionaire Fast Lane by MJ Demarco. I don't usually care for the clickbaity word "millionaire" on books or blog posts or TH-cam titles but I'm getting a huge amount of useful content about how to let go of the idea of starting a business from your passion and just go out into the world and solve a problem and scale it. We actually don't own a TV! With sport + cooking + laptop learning it's fine. Saying that a TV is pretty good for hosting friends so we might compromise by buying a projector.
Thanks for posting these insights! I love adding new books to my collection. I read two awesome books this year: The Courage to Be Disliked and Never Eat Alone. 10 out of 10 recommendations for anyone interested 👌🏾
Great video and suggestions. There are some new ones here I need to add to my reading list. "A Million Miles in a Thousand Years" seems like a really interesting one. For me the most impactful ones probably were: *Total Recall (Arnold Schwarzenegger Biography)* - He came from the small town in Austria and impacted the whole. Some of the biggest lessons from him: 1) Use money to protect your vision. Arnold had a clear goal where he wanted to end up with his career and he didn't want to put himself in the position where he has to take acting roles he doesn't like. So he always made sure that he is working hard on the small side jobs/ventures which gave him a bit of financial freedom and leverage with the negotiations and decisions. 2) Don't overcomplicate. One of the big challenges in life is trying to figure everything out before you make your next move. Arnold deliberately tried to not overcomplicate when starting a new venture because he didn't want to be demotivated by all the challenges. he preferred to figure it out along the way. 3) Learn to market, sell and make deals. Arnold wasn't just a very talented a naturally gifted guy, he was also a great marketer and salesman. He understood that no matter what he does he needs to sell it well and make great deals. As bodybuilder he sold himself with personality and confidence, as a real estate investor he showed he can make profitable deals, as an actor he understood the importance of marketing, promotion and general pre-premiere buildup and he even managed to sell himself as a great potential for a governor. *Ego is the Enemy (Ryan Holiday)* - I am young and still haven't reached success that would test me but this book showed me great examples how ego can sometimes pull you in the wrong direction. Confidence is important as well as saying yes to opportunities but sometimes to get the great things done the optimal position for you to be is to be a sixth man I guess. *Science of Leonardo (Fritjof Capra)* - Great biography of Leonardo Da Vinci which mainly taught me that being curious and casting a wide net when it comes to learning can be a huge competitive advantage. Leonardo is mostly known as an artist and engineer but a lot of people might not know that he was also a great botanist, geologist, he studied anatomy etc. Even though this is a wide range of disciplines he found different ways to combine this knowledge and reach breakthroughs. *Losing my Virginity (Richard Branson)* - Another great Biography. Richard is dyslexic and this was a great challenge for him as a student. But even though he couldn't be a great student he became a great entrepreneur. From running a student magazine, record label through running airlines, spaceflight companies he showed that you can do it all. Aside from his business successes he is also a great adventurer as well as humanitarian. I think that even if you don't like him he is a great inspiration and an example what can happen if you trow yourself at life instead of threading through it slowly and carefully.
Your 168 by Harry Kraemer was the last book that opened my eyes. Dale Carnegie’s classics (my dad was a DC instructor)- but especially “How to Stop Worrying and Start Living”. Fiction John Steinbeck’s “East of Eden” really helped me get through a breakup. I loved this video... Zuck cracked me up.

Nice one Noah, love the poster of Il Pirata! I actually read the Power of Full Engagement and The Ultimate Sales Machine following your recommendations some time ago - both brilliant reads. One thing I have learned through reading, is that whilst I have this itch that freedom from obligations and stresses is what I should strive for, it turns out it's actually these that give me fulfilment and a community to be part of, both of which turn out to be pretty important to me. The Ying and the Yang of life... Anyway, if you're ever in Oxford UK and feel like a bike ride let me know.
