The bottom crust didn't get crispy in the airfryer because of the tin foil. Like Frank said, the airfryer circulates air around the product. But if you have foil on the bottom, its obvious that isnt going to happen. 🤦‍♂️

I don't have an airfryer, and I don't want a pizza sandwich (waffle iron method). I've been using my toaster oven to reheat pizza as long as I can remember. I like to put it at about 400 degrees and leave it long enough to really heat it through and get the cheese very melty. That can leave the outside crust a bit overdone, so I wrap some foil around the edge of the crust. This approach works very well for me.

I have a toaster that can toast like a pop up toaster and a very small toaster oven. It can only bake very thin, flat things inside it, but it's perfect for reheating pizza. It's fast, crisps the bottom of the crust, remelts the cheese and gives the top of the crust a bit of crispiness as well and it does this so quickly you have to stand there and watch it so it doesn't over cook the pizza (no preheating required). 🙂 I love that toaster.

If you have a non-stick skillet, why not start top-side-down? I have done this for years. The top gets hot and melty... and frequently leaves enough cheese/meat grease in the skillet so when you flip it crust down you swirl the crust in the pizza grease and let it get as crisp and toasty as you want. Also, nothing better than butter in the skillet to crisp the crust.

I use the toaster oven method at 500° for 5-7 minutes, but put it directly on the rack with foil on top, button gets real crispy while the cheese is melty but top doesn't burn!

Ninja makes a toaster/toaster oven that doesn’t need to pre heat. 380 degrees for 3 minutes is perfection!

I use the griddle method, but low and slow. Put pizza on a dry griddle, on low with a cover propped on the griddle lip to let some steam escape. Leave it alone but keep checking til it's crispy and melty.

Loved video Frank! I think it’s funny that people don’t know how to reheat a pizza. Cast-iron is still the best way to go. I don’t know about that toaster oven, and I’m not sure I would want one on the counter. But I definitely enjoy your content! As a CIA graduate, appreciate the time and energy you put into these!

The trick with oven reheating is to start with the pizza slices upside down. You get that initial heat on the bottom crust, and then flip after a few minutes. This ensures perfectly crispy bottom crust every time.

Instead of preheating the oven, I put pizza in a cold cast iron, put a lid on it and put it in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 450 degrees. When it signals the temperature has been reached, turn the oven off and wait 5 minutes before removing the lid. It comes out almost like freshly baked.

We like to preheat the pizza in the toaster oven at 200° to 225° for 10 minutes. Then we set the toaster oven to toast and toast the pizza for 3 minutes more or less to taste. It always comes out the way we like it.

No matter how you reheat it, it'll never be the same as when it was fresh, because the sauce attacks the crust over time. But you should definitely have an air-fryer in your kitchen, even if it's just a countertop convection oven. They're great for frozen fries.

Frank, If you and your family ever get an air fryer just get a nice toaster oven with the air fryer feature. The toaster oven is a STAPLE all-in-one appliance IMO. 💯
P.S. I just started following your personal channel!

The reason for the floppy pizza result in the air fryer was given in the explanation of how it cooks. Since it’s a convection oven miniaturized putting foil under it removes the basic manner it cooks the underside of the pizza.

They make a pizza pan for your oven that is round with a bunch of tiny holes in it. Pizza comes out just about the same way as the first time I ate it. Been using this method for 15+ years. Highly recommend.

I lightly "paint" the pizza with some butter before microwaving. That works perfectly for me. I don't have a stove, oven, or air fryer. I also don't like "crispy" pizza. So I like it.

You can also make french toasted pizza (sounds weird but trust me its the best way). Just dip the pizza in an egg mixture with whatever kinds of seasonings you want and cook it on a pan.

I've tried almost every way to re-heat pizza, but I missed two of yours. I didn't try the cast iron pan (which I won't bother with) and the toaster oven. I'll try the latter.
Oh! I also use a method using a non-stick frying pan, with no oil and aluminum foil loosely covering. Medium heat. Cook for about 15 minutes. Not bad - maybe 3.5 to 4.

My favorite method is the toaster oven but slightly differently. No need to pre-heat.
Pop the slice on the rack so as to expose the bottom of the base.
Crank the temperature to 250F (yes , low-heat, but hot enough) and let it sit for 7 to 10 minutes. This is the best.
    I guarantee it!

I have a no preheated oven version. Pizza on foil on a sheet pan in a cold oven set to 400 for 10 minutes. Perfect everytime. The bottom gets a lot of heat throughout the time but the cheese and upper crust take some time to get a lot of heat. You get a structurally crisp lower crust, melty lightly browned cheese, and soft upper crust with a crispy snap biting into it. Can't get much better 5/5
