If they make a sequel to Honor Among Thieves and decide to use the Xanathar as a villain, it should be voiced by actor Jeff Goldblum. He could make it sinister but also hilarious.
I totally agree with you that if/when they make a sequel, they should make Xanathar the B.B.E.G. But the 1st actor that came to mind to play him was Keith David. Xanathar the character is a menacing back-alley crime lord. Something that Keith has plenty of experience in playing. This is just my 2 cents.

I know it would be a little different take on the character but I think it could work.
Jeff Goldblum? no I think Christopher Walken doing a combination of quirky eccentric & diabolical paranoid would be better.
comming to learn about xanathar after making a mtg deck with him as the commander. The idea of a beholder crime lord is just so interesting.

Good point, beholders are one of those creatures where it’s hard to get into the mind of one. This is an interesting idea
A beholder tolerating other races long enough to be a crimelord is interesting.
It is! Thankfully most Xanathars only have to interact with like 4 humanoids on a daily basis
And most beholders think he's weird for being able to put up 4 of them lol
