    Much faster than rolling. I painted marine primer on my fiberglass camper roof yesterday. It's thick, and fries fast. Took me a couple hours just to do the roof.

      Rollers are cheap but time consuming for sure.

    Hello, my name is Trisha and I wanted to know if you happen to know how to tell what type of camper of vintage you have. I had just gotten one. I know it needs a lot of work but I’m in the process of trying to move it out of state so I am going to just fix the minor parts for the time being and then re-do everything from getting it out to fixing it up the proper way to do it..

      You could post pictures on a FB vintage camper page and someone would probably know what it is.

    experts say always go with oil primer for longevity???

      Could be. The expert I asked had a different opinion. Maybe both work well.

      If you're careful, one gallon. Be prepared for two.

    Been using Zinsser Bull's Eye for years but then I though you can't used latex on a "vehicle" but then I realized i used tinted Zinsser under an 1999 Fleetwood Southwest Storm in the tire compartment area and used Valstar white paint primer on the two metal corners in the rear that were peeling - I removed old paint with angle grinder and a twisted wire wheel. Painted both with a brush. First time I have seen a house style aireless painter but it makes sense and probably does a nice job with the right tip. Beautiful wide fan and looks like very little overspray and of course a very short dry time vs oil-based. Great vintage color choice.

    do you have to sand it down to the metal to repaint? I have the same camper and was getting ready to put a fresh coat on.

    • @RobTheRebuilder
      @RobTheRebuilder  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the paint is still good I scuff it up and knock off any loose paint. Don't have to go down to bare metal.

    • @pcofranc
      @pcofranc 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I second that. Never go down to bare metal unless really necessary - paint lifting completely, shot with rust, etc but if going down to metal in spots they will need to be leveled with a filler product to match the height of the existing paint left in place. Clean multiple times to avoid sanding contaminants in to the paint.

      Any brand that is around $40+ gallon will have a high level of vinyl and that makes for a durable finish that will last if applied over a good clean prep job.
