I really appreciate your videos. I hate to ask if some are made with AI though. E.g. 20secs in ‘Neo Nor’ not ‘Neo Noir’. I’ve seen similar in many shorts
I haven't heard of this game before thanks for looking out. Those subtitles at the beginning were very distracting 😂😂 glad they tapered off as the video progressed. This game gives me slightly a Dishonored 2 vibe. Hopefully they can stick the landing
Same. Those of us who played the Troika original, and the TTRPG for years can easily spot the change in vision that exists in the latest versions of the TTRPG, and that vision is almost certain to contaminate the CRPG. I am cautiously pessimistic.
I... Pffthahahahahaha... Oh my this is going to be sad. Bro why don't they just change the name from Bloodlines 2. To like I don't know Old blood, Reawakening, Pyre or what ever their weird ass "title" was. If they just changed the name of the game. They'd loose a lot of the pressure from fans. Then the developers wouldn't have to worry about fan backlash, and release the game they want to make. If they just dropped the Bloodlines 2 and gave it a new title. They'd lose all of the negative heat, and they might be able to regain some VTM fans.
A quick reminder but the one of the many og writers for bloodlines 1, Brian Mitsoda was working on this game but suddenly got fired. So a lot of the intricacies and depth won’t be as prevalent in this game.
Also banu haqim arent always stealthy. They have 3 different "castes" for a reason lol. If they wanted a pure stealth focused clan, I think the answer for that is blindingly obvious
I’m a massive fan of the first game. In my top 5. I’ve seen that interview you quoted from. They are wildly out of touch, they completely missed why people love the first game, and making comments like he did even hints a glimpse of resentment to the first game. I think we are going to have ourselves a similiar situation as Dragon Age origins vs veilguard when this comes out.
@@KillerChicknthe writing and the level design of some areas was excellent, voice acting was divine, playing with different clans gave you a ton of choices and replayability, with some clans like nosferatu or malkavian was basically a different game.
@@blshouse nothing to do with DLC. the more thing the player can choose the more generic the story interaction must be. one of the reson why mass effect or the witcher story was so good is because there was a main charcter. just sheppard or geralt. So if they really want to have different playstiles and story changes is much easier to do with 4 clans. i am not saying this is a good or bad thing but this is the reason
@@federicosantoro7100 That's one theory. Paradox's history however is out there plainly visible for anyone who cares to see it. The only way there won't be a regular series of expensive DLCs clans, starting with the most potentially profitable (popularity/effort), is if the game bombs so hard that even the grifters at Paradox can't figure out a way to make the clan DLCs profitable.
My guessing they are avoiding Malk's because most of them tackle mental illnesses, which what I assuming why they mentioned "wouldn't fly today". I am still new to the series and only recently got into the TTRPG, so I may have gotten things wrong. Note: The thin blood in the new character’s head reminded me of Malkavians' effect somewhat, which is why I speculate that it might be a reason why they aren't in the game... yet.
@@frostdragonking5336im sure they dont cover nosferatu and malcavian because both would need much more exclusive development time. every player must be able to have the same experience, blabla. everybody can be archmage in skyrim....
@naseweis6105 That would also make sense. I recently played Bloodlines 1 and, through the random questions, got Nosferatu. Didn't take long for me to die. XD
no crazy clan this time ? having tv's, lamp posts etc talking to you along with weird insight into stuff and very unique dialogue was so cool in the first game
The Thinblood thing was dumb af since diablery will get you shunned and most likely dusted everywhere except the most hardcore Sabbath circles, but the rest was at least solid.
@@mnk9073 it is legal in a bloodhunt, which was how it was going to happen iirc. the developers have made it clear it's no longer an in-depth RPG. I'm not even twisting words, they've been very clear about the type of game they want to make.
Not accurate. The publisher said that it isn't a vampire "simulator" like the first game. It's still an action RPG much in the same way the Cyberpunk 2077 or the Witcher are.
I crave a good vampire game set in the White Wolf universe, so I'll buy it and probably even like it. But... it would have had so much potential to be great if they had just stuck to the spirit of its predecessor. 🖤clans & choices 🖤 RIP: Nosferatu, Malkavian, Gangrel, Toreador...

To be fair, nobody actually likes the original. Hell, nobody played the original because it was broken and unplayable for many years. But we all pretend to like it because we watched a youtuber play it
@TheJohhnyE Thats such a pile of bullshit. Bloodlines has one of the biggest Fan and mod communitys ever. The story, the athmosphere, storytelling, writing and Charakter development was ahead of its time and if you look at many games today, is unmatched. Educate yourself or get off the Internet.

It is a bad sign that they approach clans not as lore interesting and narration guided options but as the traditional archetypes for combat and playstyle of EVERY western RPG: The fighter, the rogue, the magician, the bard (charisma based class). It seems oversimplified.
@@KillerChickn Except, Brujah can be effectively bard-ish charismatic demagogues instead of just brawlers. They recruit among the disaffected of all political stripes including, as the rulebooks note, even internet trolls and such. The Banu Haqim have three different internal factions with different uses of their powers. There are Nos who are just as animalistic based as Gangrels.
@jjr5233 I mean it would heavily depend on the individual. Wouldn't turn an old man or lady or some little weak twink looking guy. It'd have to be a librarian with some umpf.
I played Bloodlines on launch. It was buggy, but a really solid story and some really interesting missions(haunted hotel, the cargo ship, the crazy doctor, etc.) kept me playing. They thankfully patched it after launch and I played it for HOURS. I loved it. I recommended it to everyone. That being said, this one doesn't look as good. I loved the clan options with the first and how each played very differently. I don't like how we are down to 4 clans now. I also don't like the look of the physics engine. I'm going to buy and play this one based off my love for the first. I am keeping my expectations very very low.
Been following development for a while. Cautiously optimistic after the latest trailer! I don't think character customization outside of hair and apparel has been mentioned by the devs yet. Fingers crossed it's in there. If this scores anything over 6/7 in reviews, I'll probably be picking it up.
ngl vampire the masquerade as a verse appeals to a certain demographic that many people that hated veilguard(for reasons other than dialogue) will absolutely hate all i hope for is that vtmb2 has better dialogue and writing than veilguard
@@TheJohhnyE I think the writing in the original was typical for its time. It's not some great timeless work of literature but it did offer options to be a dick. I think a lot of the backlash regarding Veilguard is how much it neuters player expression and agency. It is very hard to be rude or difficult in veilguard. This is surprising considering that Bioware is remembered for producing mature RPGs where the player character has some freedom to be an unpleasant person if they want to. Whatever you think of VTMBs writing it did not suppress your capacity to be monstrous in the way that veilguard does (at least within the scope of a hub based RPG with a horribly rushed and difficult development cycle). It was in the ways that people expect and cared about. A mature RPG. It had juvenile writing where minorities may be concerned, it wasn't the most politically correct game. It certainly did not offer a deep reflection on mature themes the way that narratives in the setting could in the table top. I mean sure you got to see people make power plays but it didn't talk about how this led to destructive and unsustainable outcomes for people. But it did not pull punches in dwelling into how people including the PC can be monsters. It also had really compelling lore and world building. At the time Blade and the Underworld franchise were kind of taking off too so I guess vampires were just part of the zeitgeist so for all these reasons it found an audience. Eventually. I don't think the same will ever be said of Veilguard. It's going to sort of disappear into the history of biowares catalogue along with Dragon Age 2. I remember playing through Shadowrun which many consider to be an entry-level cRPG because it is not terribly complex. Even in that game there were morally dubious decisions to be made. You could screw over good people and otherwise behave horribly to cast members. Even kill companions in some cases. Veilguard is a multimillion dollar budget RPG developed by a studio with a reputation for some of the most fondly remembered RPGs of the past decade that somehow has far less scope for role play than an entry-level cRPG produced with a kickstarter budget.
@@pauls8227fair enough. That is all true. I get what you're saying and I do agree. It's just weird how people nowadays expect every game to be on the level of the witcher or red dead redemption 2. Unrelated to the topic, but it's funny how people want every game to be on the level of those but also want them to be built from the ground up, have 100 hours of varied gameplay and release with absolutely no bugs in a fraction of the time it took to make the games they demand be made over and over.
I lost hope for this game a long time ago when they fired Brian Mitsoda. He was the mastermind and producer of Bloodlines(or who's left of that game). When they fired him without respect, everything was already over. They broke up so badly that he left everything he did to the company and left. I have a lot of respect for that man and I hope to see him in a vampire RPG game in the future, even if it is very unlikely. (I hope you are still around, Brian!) The upcoming Bloodlines 2 will not be the RPG game we all expect and want. It will be a linear FPS action game with only RPG elements. I think this alone is enough to make fans lose all interest. Even if the story or gameplay of the game were good (which I have great doubts about), I don't think it will give the fans what they want. Because who would want to play a Bloodlines game that is not an RPG? The World of Darkness universe is in the wrong hands. It is very sad that it is in the hands of a game company that produces strategy games when there should be much more quality games coming out of this universe. I hope that after the disaster of Bloodlines 2, the naming rights will be given to a company that truly loves this universe and is capable of making quality vampire games. Then we will satisfy our hunger for vampire games. Bloodlines 2 will be a meal that can be consumed as a side dish or even a cheap dessert, not a main course.
From a game that had all clans to a game that has 4 to choose from is already a point against it tbh. I know it allows them to develop more story around a limited number of clans but it also just feels like a step backwards. Hopefully they take advantage of the more focused choice.
The original Bloodlines had half of the clans from the ttrpg VtM. Also it is a game from Paradox, so they will most likely sell them to you for egregious prices. I´m pretty sure they already confirmed that Malkavians will be a future DLC
From what could be seen so far and with all the issues in development and PDX comments on it over time, I am just left with a bad gutfeeling, where pdx already tries in advance to brace for a situation like we might already have seen in other rpgs, "Oh, it's not meant to be just like it's predecessor". Also so far all looks still kinda wonky in it's animations (might get better in development, but some things I fear are just the way it's supposed to look. Gotta see.). Also that it's only 4 clans is kind of a "meh" for me, but might make sense in their "linear approach". Another thing is that one is supposed to play an elder, which is also more a detriment for me than "oh, nice". The powers of an elder are (as the nature of things) rather big, compared to a lot of their surrounding. What are you supposed to do? Missed opportunity for growth I think, but again, might feed into their linear approach. I play the pen and paper since over 20 years and loved Bloodlines 1 a metric ton. My expectations for Bloodlines 2 have become quite low, in all honesty.
To bad they got rid of the last dev team they wanted to stick true to the last title. Actually with some more research The Chinese Room dev team doesn't seem to bad i do have some hope they make this game awesome but ill be cautious like we should all be.
The original premise of playing a thinblood thrust into Kindred politics was not only more interesting, but it was also much more faithful to the IP of both VTM and Bloodlines. I was really disappointed in this sharp change in direction for the player character's perspective.
Exactly. The whole point of the masquarade (narratively) is to step from our world into a world of the supernatural. Playing an old vampire unfamiliar in the modern world is just backwards. The writers can't even get the masquarade right.
That's nonsense. There are multiple diverse ways to play V:tM, and being the underdog tangled up in Canarchilla politics is just one of them. An Ancillae or Elder campaign, or a Sabbat campaign, are no less 'faithful to the V:tM IP' than struggling neonate campaigns. No matter if the V5 writers might wish otherwise ;) There's a lot, and I mean A LOT, one can say against Bloodlines 2, but trying a new storytelling angle as an Elder, instead of re-treading the exact same underdog story as the original, is not a strike against it.
I’ve been wanting a sequel to this game for over a decade now. I’ve been excited for this since they announced it then delayed it years ago. I really hope it’s good😭🙏
Just temper your expectations. If its good its good. If it's not... Well I feel like we do live in a time that we are spoiled for choice especially if dwell into our backlogs or look at games that came out in the past decade! Plus VTMB is always going to be something old fans can return to, it's a weirdly comfy game like that. Despite the macabre subject matter.
Sadly, it's looking very unlikely it's going to be anything good, let alone a worthy successor to BL. Even with the initial releases of the Chinese Room trailers and dev diaries I was a bit optimistic-yes, it was concerning that the protagonist was named and not completely customizable, but the impression was that between being able to choose clan, abilities, background(what kind of Elder were you), gender, and clothing/gear, that there was going to be enough to make it somewhat your own. I mean the original BL you always wake up in in your sire's bed, then they're killed, and you're hauled off to the Prince and then sent on a quest-while choosing your clan, gender, abilities, and background, though you could at least choose your name. Then as more came out, only 4 clans, apparently less input on background, choices seem stunted, and etc., I've become a lot less optimistic. I still hope for some miraculous comeback-perhaps they're really bad at making trailers, dev diaries, and interviews and there is an awesome gem of a game that we just can't see yet. I'm desperate for another game in the Vampire: Masquerade universe, so I'll give it try, but my expectations are ultimately very low.
I have been holding a moderate expectation because of the narrative style of The Chinese Room. I loved BL and I've actually already prepurchased AND refunded this game when the previous dev team left. As a fan of VTM tabletop and WOD, the only thing I had against the OG Bloodlines was how lore-inacurate it was for a newly-embraced vampire to tackle on the whole political structure with brute force in the spam of a couple of weeks. The main character of this game seems like a better fit for a newcomer that's going to explore and hear a lot of exposition, but that's also powerful enough to make an impact. It seems it's really not going to be a similar experience to the original, but the setting is interesting enough to tell great stories, and a more streamlined or linear game can do just that. I don't know, if they publish a narratively compelling game, with some depth or a good story I'll count it as a win. I don't mind the quality of customization or combat variety, there's enough of that in other rpgs.
Indeed, good points all around. The protagonist is indeed much better suited to be able to realistically (in the universe) challenge and affect the machinations of Vampire society; an elder shaking off post-nap grogginess definitely makes more sense than a literal newborn fledgling; especially considering how powerful that fledgling becomes in a couple of nights lol.
I loved both the original Vampire the Masquerade and Bloodlines and have had this game on my watchlist ever since I heard about it, but the delays and the recent official comments by Paradox pretty much destroyed any hope I had for this being a good game. I may still buy it after it's on sale for $10 - $20 but I can't see paying full price for what sounds like may end up being a minimum viable product for which we've already been told there will never be any DLC or sequels. To me it sounds like Paradox has already written this game off as a failure and would just as soon cancel it entirely than really put any real support behind it. Personally I think they should just sell the rights to some other studio that actually wants to make a vampire game.
I bought the Blood Moon edition back in 2019 as a pre order and promptly forgot about it until 2021 when i thought....this aint a pre-order its a bloody kickstarter and promptly refunded it on Steam, which to their credit they did. I suspect it's gonna suck because the original was sexy, cool and dark.
It will never live up the standard of the original. This belief is because even the developers of bloodlines 2 have said they hated working on it, and that if there was going to be third they'd outsource it. So no, this is not a game made with passion or love, it'll be a typical by the numbers first person action game with small RPG elements sprinkled here and there.
It was not the developer, but the publisher and they did not hate it, they are just sticking to what they know, which is strategy games. With that said, yeah, it certainly won't come close to the original, as it is a totally different game altogether.
@@faethe000 but at least that jank came in the form of bugs and glitches and not the writing, the character design, and general gameplay :( lol easily fixed in comparison
The game is called Vampire the Masquerade, all those words are gay. All the games of that series had "the message", you've been playing a gay game for years.
@@grandsome1 V:tM is a funny case, because it's had like, """"woke""" characters even back in the early 90s, and while clan Malkavian might've aged badly, I still remember what an absolute taboo mental illness used to be, and how monumental talking openly about it in a popular TTRPG was. Unfortunately, V:tM also had dr Mengele as a trans Tzimisce, and the gypsy stereotype clan, and don't even get me started on the Kuei Jin, so it kinda cancels out.
This is one of the few games I hear about it, get excited, then forget it's coming out. With all the delays, it went from day 1 buy, to wait until I can pick up on sale for Black Friday, assuming it ever comes out at this point.
Considering the game is being Published by Paradox, I wouldn't be surprised if the other clans will be sold as DLC down the line. I mean just look at their other tittles.
@@LeeroyFan101 -IF- the game turns out decent (... doubt) then I wouldn't mind as long as they actually sell or release the clan I WANT to play :P 🌹Lasombra🌹 forever
Everything this game has shown both gameplay and press wise gives the feeling that they are using the name to sell units and dont want to pay respect. Also the mainly negative stuff from the previous game was all tech issues. If they would sell a remaster with everything patched up and running well it would do better than what this game is shaping up to be.
Maybe I am crazy but what has been shown seems far to serious for it's own good. Sure you need that, but the original Bloodlines had a dark comedic edge that was in the original Fallout 1 & 2. From Romero and fighting undead in the graveyard to Vampire Bill Gates to Talking TVs and split personality vampires, etc. Also, can we please let the magically talking sidekick trope die a slow and painful death. It is just a shortcut for exposition dumps and can quickly destroy the mood of a game.
It’s so silly to me have a don’t use the same RPG elements and are going for more of a linear story with a chosen protagonist instead of one you get to completely make new. My hopes are way too high for this VTMB is one of my all-time favorite games
I will purchase on day 1. I am aware of the risk that I am taking in doing so, but if it is *good enough*, then I will be pleased. BL1 was a perfect game for the first 2 acts and a rushed mess in the last one. It was also a buggy shitshow that thrives now on the modding scene. BL2 just needs to hit *good enough* and a cult following will come in a decade or so. I look forward to bloodlines 3, to be announced in 2030 and released in 2037.
Hopefully they add more clans. Given how the gaming industry has been treating its products and customers its hard to look forward to any game. If it does actually go well i hope to see playable Hecata, Lasombra and/or Malkavians
Won't forgive Paradox for how they handled Hardsuit Lab and especially Brian Mitsoda. That was a huge disrespect to the original game. I am however hoping that it will turn out to be a really good Vampire the Masquerade game, eventhough it certainly won't be a Bloodlines game. I am looking forward to finally playing it. The gameplay looks good, the storytelling looks engaging, and an Action RPG VTM game is sorely desired.
It'll surpass expectations... if by expectations you mean everyone's expecting a steaming turd. I have no faith left in Paradox, but the Chinese Room could pull off a linear mystery-horror that is vaguely related to the IP (an IP I wrote for in a very small way, so they'll have very little room for screwing with it in my eyes).
Bloodlines was and still is one of the favorite games. The charm and the uniqueness that game had was off the charts. The new one seems shallow, compared to the original. And I won’t buy it before I see all reviews, especially the players.
For me? Definitely. Now, don't grt me wrong - I love the Bloodlines, but it definitely shows its age. Mechanics and combat are clunky, graphics... Well, they exist, and the sound quality dips occasionally. If they can deliver a competent story with good gameplay - I'll be more than happy
I’ve had 0 faith in this game since I saw that video of the developers telling the fans to buy the collectors edition. You would have swore they were all going to be killed with the level of enthusiasm they showed there. Next thing I know the game was indefinitely delayed. Put a stake in this game because it is done 🧛♂️
First game is my fav game to date. The amount of different faction, lore and aesthetic are amazing. Every race plays differently, there is no single boring moment. I replayed it for so many time.
I was so disappointed by the gameplay reveal that I lost hope. So if it turns out passable I will be pleasantly surprised. I was hoping for something gritty and darkly realistic, as in it could be happening in the shadows. I was a huge fan of all things White Wolf, loved their lore. So I obviously was into the first 2 games mostly for the story telling and ambience.
not having malkavians/nosferatu at release is a huge red flag. They downsized pretty much everything the previous version showed, they can blame the old devs all they want, but ultimately the producer needs to know how to manage the fucking project. If they wasted so much time and had to downsize and move to other dev, it shows how unprofessional they are. having said that, i trust Chinese Room, i really hope they can make a good RPG experience. They are not know for this but im willing to trust them. At least dialogue/story department they can deliver great games for sure
I am happy for the video, you stood in the areas that are comfortable with you if you lack the lore information in the game. Of course I don't know how much you have dived in the lore itself. You were unbiased with things and presented things with clear understanding to a person who has never heard about the game or knows nothing about the game world or lore. I personally am one of the persons who had the physical collectors edition preordered earlier and was forced to refund it. I am absolutely getting the game and I am also storyteller and player in Vampire the Masquerade TTRPG so I have more than enough knowledge of the older edition where bloodlines 1 is based and this new edition where bloodlines 2 will be based.
the moment they fired the writer of the original game from the project. I lost all interest I had with this extremely delayed game. Might watch a let's play from a streamer or at least part way. But I very much doubt this will have solid writing. Which is honestly only thing that matters in a rpg game.
I sort of checked out on this when they canceled the preorders. Personally I wish they would call this anything other then bloodlines 2 at this point and who wouldn't suffer from development fatigue after the amount of issues and money blown.
From an article I read the publisher said “we just want it released at this point so we can be done with it, even if it’s a success we don’t plan on making another one or any dlc” with the article saying that there was a lot of internal issues
I played the original game in 2015, after playing games like The Witcher 2, DA:I, Mass Effect, which were the apex of its time, and let me tell you something, I had a blast. Played Malkavian and I had so much fun, the world, the questlines, the characters, the dialogues, it was amazing.
I didn't play the original but i looked up a few retrospective reviews, it seems this game has some mighty big shoes to fill. I like what i saw in that little trailer and if the reviews are positive whenever the game comes out I'll certainly give it a try, setting, classes, abilitys and choices have me intrigued. If they manage to put in good character's, story and gameplay I'm sold. For now I'll keep an eye out and stay cautiously optimistic
Legend has it that every time someone mentioned Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, someone somewhere is reinstalling it. The trick is to never delete it. Definitely going to pick it up but keeping my expectation low but I am being hopeful.
From the eyes of someone who has never played the first game but watched a playthrough of it, this doesn't look bad at all from footage, at least combat wise. But I can understand why fans of the first game are worried. It possible that they could mess up the story and roplaying aspect of the game. I might give it a try if I hear good things about it after release.
If anything the development hell is consistent with that of the first game. I legit think this game is cursed whenever someone try's to make it into a video game!
I really hope it's some kind of open world so you can explore the city using your vampire powers as you please and hunt humans or interact with them, that would make the game more replayable.
What puzzle? "Here is an arena filled with enemies." > "Here is the very same once again." > "Here is the very same yet again." What is "puzzle" about that? :D
LOVED the 1st one and have been very excited for the sequel. Was hoping for a Cyberpunk 2077-esque experience but as long as it has solid RPG elements, I'm still on board.
The fact that the publisher themselves recently said they want nothing to do with this game anymore, tells you exactly what you need to know. Don’t pre-order it, if you’re curious, wait until it hits the bargain bin. Trust me , with paradox’s current reputation it ain’t gonna take long.
is it gonna live up to the og? probably not. but im gonna do my best to judge it based on the game itself, is it fun to play? do the disciplines feel fun? is the story good? do the choices actually have an impact? these are what im looking for and im gonna be hopeful that it still is a fun game even if its not gonna meet expectations. i like vtm and play a fair few games both v20 and v5e and i been with different groups who have different feels to the flow of the game. if this game even captures a little of the magic of the VTM feel then itll be a fun game!
Low expectations so I probably won’t be disappointed-did want a true RPG, as opposed to an aRPG, but if combat and story are OK, I’ll live with it. Hoping that the graphics will be better than the samples provided.
Even one stuff member of the Chinese Room said that Bloodlines 2 is more of a spiritual successor, rather than the continuation of the Bloodlines game.
I do not know this channel and I do not intend to watch this video but I saw the video title on my YT homepage. Let me answer the question before clicking the back button on my browser: "No."
This game was supposed to be out a few years ago. But the people who was making the game, did the game no justice and they where unable to reach set goals many times, so the studio got fired. So new people are now making this game. I am not sure when they plan to release the game, but its not anytime soon. The game does look to be in some good hands and I approve that when they noticed the game was in bad hands they canned the whole team. I hope they take their time and get this game right.
My pre-order is still up from....2020, 2019? I've forgotten the year, but whatever; I'm in. I think there's a conversation fans of the original tend to shy away from, and that's how complete of a mess it was to begin with and how, from years of love and attention, it finally started living up to its own potential. That's something that can only happen organically, and by taking a risk. Bloodlines 2, *however* it comes out at launch, is never going to live up to those standards, because it hasn't had the love and attention (yet), but still has to shoulder the burden of living up to the standards set by the original. It simply won't happen - it can't. So I understand the decision of trying to separate this sequel from the original - it contains significantly more respect for the original and what it means to people than this video may suggest. That being said, development Hell is development Hell. The game really ought to be received under diminished expectations, so that any merit it does have gets the chance to shine through. I have full faith in their abilities to take this franchise with it's enormous potential, and completely mess it up.

So badly want it to be good, but every bone in my body screams that we know better. After this development hell, there's no way.

A quick reminder but the one of the many og writers for bloodlines 1, Brian Mitsoda was working on this game but suddenly got fired. So a lot of the intricacies and depth won’t be as prevalent in this game.
No Toreador for dialog heavy (charisma based) roleplay, or Malkavian for chaotic neutral insanity gameplay. Makes me sad.
Also banu haqim arent always stealthy. They have 3 different "castes" for a reason lol. If they wanted a pure stealth focused clan, I think the answer for that is blindingly obvious

It is a bad sign that they approach clans not as lore interesting and narration guided options but as the traditional archetypes for combat and playstyle of EVERY western RPG: The fighter, the rogue, the magician, the bard (charisma based class). It seems oversimplified.
@DrGonzoSpain That's how the clans work in universe and tabletop. Did you think Tremere were MMA champions or Brujah would turn a librarian?
@@KillerChickn Lore true Brujah would definitely turn a librarian. Warriors and scholars.
@@KillerChickn Except, Brujah can be effectively bard-ish charismatic demagogues instead of just brawlers. @jjr5233 I mean it would heavily depend on the individual. Wouldn't turn an old man or lady or some little weak twink looking guy. It'd have to be a librarian with some umpf.

ngl vampire the masquerade as a verse appeals to a certain demographic that many people that hated veilguard(for reasons other than dialogue) will absolutely hate
all i hope for is that vtmb2 has better dialogue and writing than veilguard
Hate to break it to you, but the original had MUCH worse writing than veilguard. But we lie and pretend it was good.
(I hope you are still around, Brian!)
The upcoming Bloodlines 2 will not be the RPG game we all expect and want.
No malkavian? Well, guess I'm not here anymore.
99% sure it will not live up to peoples expectations
The original premise of playing a thinblood thrust into Kindred politics was not only more interesting, but it was also much more faithful to the IP of both VTM and Bloodlines. I was really disappointed in this sharp change in direction for the player character's perspective.
Yeah, I really liked the idea of having to work towards being adopted by a clan. Such a good synergy of gameplay and narrative.
I’ll wait until reviews come out.

Yeah that was painful to hear.

I mean, the original was janky as hell and had to be fixed by players with a third party patch.
@@faethe000 but at least that jank came in the form of bugs and glitches and not the writing, the character design, and general gameplay :( lol easily fixed in comparison

Has a Condemed Bloodshot vibe somewhat mixed with Vampyre. Why didn’t they just remake the 1st game though?
If they can deliver a competent story with good gameplay - I'll be more than happy
game delay a lot more likely to remove it from the competitive holiday season than for them to put work into "polishing" it tbh
So Fabian is the new Navi... Good to know.
> Remember when games used to have that?"
Careful, burns like that might provoke a Rötschreck check.
I’m waiting for your review and then I’ll decide, but So far I’m interested ❤
First, and this is the most important thing: What expectations? Who has any expectations of this thing anymore?
I didn't play the original but i looked up a few retrospective reviews, it seems this game has some mighty big shoes to fill. I like what i saw in that little trailer and if the reviews are positive whenever the game comes out I'll certainly give it a try, setting, classes, abilitys and choices have me intrigued. If they manage to put in good character's, story and gameplay I'm sold.
For now I'll keep an eye out and stay cautiously optimistic
I really wish it had more clan options. Also I am struggling with how he pronounces Brujha.
No, not at all, the time has been to long of a wait and they changed everything that was of interest into something super janerk
the flat sardonic delivery of : "remember when games used to have that?" 🤣
Legend has it that every time someone mentioned Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, someone somewhere is reinstalling it.
The trick is to never delete it.
Definitely going to pick it up but keeping my expectation low but I am being hopeful.
I’ll be grabbing it simply bc VTMB and the world of darkness have intrigued me for over 2 decades.
The expectations are pretty low for this one after everything it happened. So maybe? But that's not the flex they think it is.
Are these placeholder skins in these previews? The graphics really don't look that much better than the decades old original game.
I really hope it's some kind of open world so you can explore the city using your vampire powers as you please and hunt humans or interact with them, that would make the game more replayable.
What puzzle?
"Here is an arena filled with enemies." > "Here is the very same once again." > "Here is the very same yet again."
What is "puzzle" about that?
Let me answer the question before clicking the back button on my browser:
"No."
I had some sunglare when I first saw the thumbnail and all I caught for a moment was "blood" and "sequel." Imagine my heartbreak...
I am super hyped for this game. I loved the first one and really want an updated take on it!
Expecting an impossible standard (particularly at launch) actually benefits no one, but I imagine it's all we're going to hear about.
