South Devon Railway - 'Winter Steam Gala' 30/12/2022

Holding a final fling for the year, the South Devon Railway would host their ‘Winter Steam Gala’ over the weekend of 30th December 2022 - 1st January 2023, featuring three locomotives in action over the 7 mile line between Buckfastleigh and Totnes.
Visiting from its home at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, 7820 “Dinmore Manor” would be in service through the event. 7820’s visit to the SDR is primarily due to its use on ‘The Polar Express’ service in the run up to Christmas, and as such it’s rare to see the ‘Manor’ operating on the railway in its usual guise, without its festive modifications. Joining 7820, would be Ivatt Tank - 41312 from the Watercress Line; paying a visit exclusively for the post-Christmas services. The visiting duo would rub shoulders with resident 6400 Class - 6430 to complete the line up.
The event featured some varied passenger workings, with the two main coach sets complimented by a two coach ‘local’ set. In addition, a daily double-headed would be included with 6430 & 41312.
