Which personally I dont like to say games are similar to other games because I feel it kind of deminishes the effort put into the game itself? I have a theory I like to call "the block tales color theory". It refers to the fact that every important character has a color when mentioned on dialogue, builderman is orange, shedletsky is yellow and so on. I noticed that greifer talks about "the voices" with a dark red color, the same dark red that fear uses when talking about hatred. "the voices" are the hatred that the person using the swords has, thats why we had a very strong hatred, we already had two swords and a third one right next to us
Also the 4 noobs that have the most obvious colors, probably could make an even bigger argument with the noobs as the most obvious ones to catch the eye of people
I’ll do you one better. During the lead up to GREED, one of the mannequins implied that in the future Shedletsky did (or wanted to) take the swords back after you collected them all, showing that even if the MC isn’t open about it, they DO have knowledge of the future. What if the reason HATRED is able to set the Cruel king and Brad up with whispers of the future is BECAUSE of the player, going back to the past and bringing their own HATRED, thus causing the greater entity to gain that future knowledge.
Fun fact: the card system, guarding system and the mini game system used for attacks are pretty much just taken straight from the first two paper mario games

@@cosmo2490bug fables took enough deviations with how the battle system works so it isnt exactly like paper mario in terms of game gimmicks, like in bug fables there are 3 characters (sometimes even more in situational moments) in one battle at once each with more than 4 abilities, block tales is kinda not like that in the sense that it doesnt really deviate too much from its inspiration when playing singleplayer (the only thing that can rly constitute as a different thing would be the rolling health system that was kinda shoehorned into the game bcus i imagine to the devs it seemed cool) so thats why i said that

A Damage.
I am not caught up on Paper Mario, but when i watched PMTTYD gameplay, i DEFINITELY saw how Blocktales took inspiration off this game The dialogue, jokes, references, menu's, items, etc, its ALL inspired on it, and i love it! I can't wait to see what it brings on demo 4
Fun fact: dynamite can give level 2 of "strike first" ball and sword also give "strike first" but level 1 i recommended to use dynamite on any enemies that is slow during outside the battle!

I hate it when people breaking down block tales mention that this game is inspired by earthbound but not paper mario. Thus hurts me a lot mentally as a Paper mario fan.
Ngl the only paper mario things I see is the battle camera and how you attack but almost everything else is inspired by earthbound and that might be why
@MassimoBurlin Did you even play the paper mario games? Because it's not just that. The item you collect (like dynamite, rocket boots, etc.) mimics the allies from paper mario. One of them is just a straight-up copy of the abilities from paper mario TTYD (Ghost potion = Vivian). The swords fight on the height swords are also based on the functionality from the crystal stars from paper mario TTYD (They can also be based off of paper 64 but I don't know cuz I never played that one :P).

Damn. This has been a really good explanarion video. I, even though a Block Tales veteran, still finds this usefull! Too bad my friends said that Block Tales is a "dumb" game and a "too classic" game. They say that it is too hard for them because of the "self-service" mechanics, if yall catch my drift. Theyre so used to playing Non-self-service RPGs where they dont need to 'participate' in the attack; just pressing some buttons and the character attacks for them. Not comparing, but my friends play all of *those* games more (ex. Blox fruits, MM2, ToH and all other stuff). I recommended them Block Tales, but yeah, they just *wont.* I showed them the game fully and teached them, but they gave up already at the Red n' Blue fight because Red's spin attack is "undodgable" to them. But yeah, im not trying to start a war here. Im just trying to say that my friends have different opinions than me. Have fun anyone! And if you just started playing Block Tales, Goodluck!! 😊
Great video! This and the PBB Retrospective are some of my favourite videos on the platform. You will be happy to know that the next update isn't chapter 4 instead its a pre prologue which tells us why we are traveling to the past and why we wake up in terry's bed.
I definitely agree with your beginning statements about Roblox losing it's identity, it's a bit sad honestly. Anyways, great video! Blocktales is one of my all time favorite games on Roblox (up there with Phighting and some small Roblox platformers).
Yesss I love Phighting so much, I would argue that its one of if not the best fighting game on Roblox. My fav platformer on roblox though is Kapi's Rock and Roll (that game is gas)

@@BraveJ28He never was, he got manipulated by hatred into thinking his kingdom will fall and his people will die if he doesn't kill us, he just wanted his people to live, in nirvana, he realized his mistake when he found out we were sent by shedletsky and we were manipulated. He helps us out of the kindness of his own heart, if he was bad, he wouldn't have even bothered helping us.

I'm glad you brought up the storyline. With the context of demo 3, the story is definitely a highlight of the game. The player is a very intriguing character.
I might make a follow up because I have alot of thoughts about chapter 3. I personally think that they did the whole dreamworld character struggle story bit too early into the story, although people in the comments have been saying that chapter 4 is suppose to take place before the main story like a Chapter 0 kind of thing so that might change how I feel. But other than that, Chapter 3 is easily the best chapter so far its so good.
@@kylocooper The Dream World wasn't come too early nor too late, There is a fun fact that the entire game story board was already written at a time but it was kept secret as they slowly develop each chapter out, all 8 chapter story line were already made, we might find a reason why dream qorld sequence was so early soon.
I think that is probably what people are talking about, in the comments people have been mentioning chapter 4 and an update explaing why we are a time traveller.

you can turn off the autokill thingy in settings!
I didnt like it at first so I was happy to find out you could turn it off in the setting. The fact that it is an option is super nice.
