Flour tortillas are not difficult at all to make but enchiladas are usually made with corn tortillas.Which is a bit more difficult to make.

Thom exactly what I was thinking. I’m like, “what?!?!” That’s just dated cookery non-sense. How about on the countertop if you don’t want to put it in the fridge.

@@maldiviansun8500 Why is it nonsense?? In a UK winter the boot of a car sounds ideal to me because the ambient temperature would be ideal.

@@handsoffmycactus2958 My fridge isn't very big though I am saving up to buy a bigger one. And I am partial to a nice cheese selection over christmas when the poor fridge is overloaded, so I may take up her idea of the car boot, especially in the cold weather.

The recipe for Welsh Rabbit looks easy enough, but there is a lot of wastage involved. Assuming you're not an ale drinker, you've got to buy a bottle and then used only a small portion of it. Same goes for the sage and onion as only small amounts are actually used in the recipe. Of course, this often happens in cooking where you only need a bit but have to buy a lot more than that amount, but it is striking that in a recipe with very few ingredients, a very high proportion of the items go to waste.
I mean sure, it is possible to find other uses for the remaining stuff, but more often than not you put them in the fridge and shortly thereafter you throw them out. I just wonder if Delia could have found some substitutions for maybe the ale or if dried sage could have been an option. I'll admit this is a moot point as this video is probably thirty years old.

You just don't de-seed chillies. What's the bloody point of them then??

The point is to choose whether to keep the seeds or not depending on how hot you want your dish.

What a load of shit. Just put it in your fridge like a normal person and get the cheese out 30 mins before serving to get to room temperature (if not cooking).
