3 years late but WOW this has been super helpful in building my first cube. Ive had these videos on repeat the past couple days as ive followed along through the steps. Thanks for the resource
This has changed the way I’ve approached my cube and opened my eyes to how badly I had built it. I’m REALLY NEEDING the last video to know how I should properly ‘divy’ out my mono color left overs and artifacts. Love these vids. Thanks!
I’m about to make my first cube, a peasant cube (since signpost uncommons are extremely cool to me and without them I’d feel weird in a draft environment), and this series is an awesome help. It makes me feel like I have experience under my belt already, and the template here was what I was going for. I know the group I’ll be playing with and building for are really into a lot of the 2 color pairs as opposed to 3 color or mono. Thanks for putting in all this work!
This was a great selection, simic and gruul were two of the hardest pairings when building my cube so these strategies help give me ideas for cards to add in my cube
@@mtgcubetube the only strategy I could think of for gruul when I built my cube was non-humans from eldraine but even then it feels like it just has the theme of green but angry
I really hope when youre done with this series that you go into ways to analyze the cubes gameplay and make adjustments accordingly. Are you also going to spend an episode on the mana base and artifacts?
Another great video. Do you ever worry that this method of building a synergy cube leads to 'on-rails' drafting? If a guild is only being drafted by one player, they'll be able to snap up the cards for that pairing with little competition. I find that this is what I struggle with most when putting together my new synergy cube right now.
Hey Elliot. That is indeed a worry. My personal cube is more powerful and less synergy driven. I hope this cube strikes a good balance though. Most archetypes aren't too isolated and I've tried to mainly select cards that are good by themselves even if they get better with synergies. Some of the cards really only work in one type of deck, but I'm trying to keep that to a minimum. If you're worried about this sort of thing then possible solutions are building more around small synergy packages than full guild strategies (a bit like I did with Simic and Gruul), using archetypes that are as non-linear as possible (like the one for Dimir in this cube), and simply lowering the number of cards dedicated to a guild strategy as opposed to non-specific cards. I'll try to include some of this in the final video, thanks for the question!
@@mtgcubetube ohh it wasn’t a critique, I love your videos and I already saw all of them more than once! The cube seems already really sweet. After the series, could you do a “no-budget upgrades” video? Since I already own a lot of the cards that you exclude because they are expensive, I would love to build a version of this cube without budget restrictions
@@alvoi4379 O yeah I didn't take it as being critical of my slowness - but I would be happier to get them out a bit quicker ;) So thanks for your kind words. I think making a short video on some cards I would like to add if budget wasn't an issue would be a good idea.

Great to hear the videos have been of help. I'm working hard on the final episode: lots of cards to still choose so it'll be a marathon video ;)
Hope things are all good!

That horse sound is scaring me every damn time.
i swear its louder in this one
Have binged. Is amazing. Need more.
Yesssssssssssss my cube boi is back

I especially find Gruul pretty hard, and in my own cube (no online list) people only ever play Gruul when it's their first time :P

This is so fantastic! I've been wanting to build a cube from cards I own but been daunted by the task. Your series has really helped me!
Hey thanks I'm glad to hear that!
I liked this video. Much to be garnered.

These have been very helpful in the construction of my cube! Thank you.
Great to hear Patrick!
