    1. Don't ask 40% or 60% hike, tell exact number. Like "I want 20 LPA" Never say percentage. And don't say "as per industry standard... etc" that is wrong. LOL.
    2. Research on that company and try to find out average salary on that role. Let's say currently your CTC is 4 LPA and the company for that role can give 15 LPA then ask for 15 or little bit above.
    3. Don't worry about interview was good or bad... oh my god I should accept this ctc as my interview was not good... no. You don't need to think about it. You have cleared the interview that's it.
    4. Most importantly, have an exact figure(LPA) in your mind and tell the HR. and if you don't like the offer say it that you can't go with this offer. Belive me guys HR will be in panic. Coz he/she needs to do again the interview process like shortlisted the resume from 1000 candidate, then schedule the interviews (3-4 rounds) then again select out of them, meaning that all the process again. So if you have cleared the interviews and came to salary negotiation round then HR will not reject you because of few lakhs. Maximum she can say that they don't have budget. that's it.
    5. Prepare for salary negotiation round. Remember HR will get promotion if they hair good candidate with less salary and they are getting paid for this. They spend their whole life on this. And how much you spend for this 10 minute round which will decide your future? 0.
So it is obvious that they will win. haha.
Be confident and remember this 10 minute will decide your future lifestyle.
    All the very best.

    1- Performance in Interview
2- Immediate joiners( how soon you can join, if already running on notice period, 'Advantage'
    3- another offer In hand.

I can definitely relate to the point of performing well in an interview. I was recently interviewed for a startup, and I managed to outperform the panel's expectations. As a result, I got a hike of ~120%. However, there is still one question that bugs me a lot, and I would love your inputs on the same, Krish Sir.
My question is, how do you answer this question, "What are your salary expectations (i.e., expected CTC)?" This simple looking question is often troublesome and can create some hurdles later during the negotiations if you have not answered it properly. Please do provide your thoughts on this.
Once, again thank you for your time and for sharing your precious experience with us.

Tell what you are withdrawing and also tell before applying to the post i have researched on the salary offered for this post and those numbers are satisfactory. Then you can say + 20% to 30% of what you have found. You may tell the figure also, be careful about you over-expecting so give a hint that you are negotiable. I have to disagree on one point. Using other company offer to negotiate higher salary offer at another Company is not a bad move. I believe it is the only way to get a better hike in many cases, and should be used in any case possible at any stage of your career. All companies are out there to shaft you. It is in their best interest to pay as less as possible. If you were the owner of the company, you would also want to pay as less as possible.

Hi Krish, so my first job was in IT and I have 3.5 experience but after that I have completed a masters in data science and now for me it's like a fresher's interview as a data scientist. Although I have experience but not in exact same field. So what CTC should I expect and how to ask for that.

Sir what if the current CTC is way below market rates especially in a field in demand like Data Science? How can one negotiate for a proper raise(as per market standards) given that a lot of the HRs use the previous CTC as a function to determine your prospective offer.

Bro you can be considered lucky if you get asked that question, and definitely the answer should be yes! you are giving your all to learn and can possibly be a future employee at that company, not say that bills don't pay themselves. In future even if a company don't ask you this, you should yourself ask for a stipend! and bro can you share your email I myself am learning DS and would like to have your advice and share experience.

Just a suggestion. sometimes it seems that to give emphasis you are repeating the same information multiple times.
You can make some preparation, it will optimize the length of your video.
otherwise, you are great to watch! Best of luck.
