We live in Canada, and many of our costs were similar is Cdn dollars. But our bed, crate ( which our greyhound hated, money wasted) was more than you paid. Our greyhound adoption fee was more than yours. $450.00, but that included neutering, and rabies etc. Our vets here are super pricey, Just the semi annual visit, with flea/tick meds, is over $200.00. Dentist is pricey too, but not as expensive as NYC. Food costs, we feed him allergy, gluten free food, and it's $50.00, every 3 weeks. You can spend so much, especially on boots and coats for thin coated dogs here in Canada. We got our dog coats for free from a lady that lost her greyhound. (6 coats! Saved us a ton!) Thanks for sharing, have a great day.😁
Hello! Omg- anyways My family is getting a Greyhound in February!!! I am so excited but- My dad said I have to pay the expenses because I will be the "owner" of the dog. This is just what I needed! Thank you so much! I really hope my dog won't panic because we (our family) have two very loud kids. (we have four kids including me) I have done researches and read the Retired Racing Greyhounds for dummies and I was a little confused, but after watching this video I fully understand! Thank you so much!! Also, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I was kinda lucky and the adoption fee (430ish) included all vet stuff and 6 months of hookwork treatments. So basically I spent all the money on treats and stuff 😬
In the UK a greyhound cost me £150. The insurance monthly is £53 and goes up £10 every year. To see a vet is £30 that's just the examination, yearly booster vaccine is £40. It's expensive but in my opinion worth it 👍
that last bit was so cute
This is super helpful! Thank you so much for your transparency to educate us :)
You're so welcome!
