I had 2 1200 V maxes absolutely loved them, went from Cambridge via channel tunnel to the south south of France, played in the French alps, Monaco and then went to Italy the came back to Britain via the Swiss Alps and covered 3,500 miles, went to Scotland,Lake District,Yorkshire mores, went to most motorcycle gp and British super bike races and never had any issues with the Max best bike l ever had, comfortable and had the power to pass obstacles in front of me. Unfortunately too old to ride now but what pleasure and memories l look back on…..

That's a beautiful bike, I would like to get one in the next year. A nice alternative to a Supercar and cheaper too no doubt.

MrDjh66 I had a 1994 (yellow) V-Max that I owned for four years and sold for $6500 with 5500 miles on its odometer. I too missed it soon after selling it (unemployed).
Fast forward to last spring when I found a 2007 (OEM red highlighted black paint scheme) that had less than 4K miles on it and was being sold by the collector in SC who owned/drove nine equally collectible motorcycles, but as he and his wife were in their mid-70s, he was decisively selling them all. I won an eBay auction in the final seconds with two bids (purchased for $4125). I drove to his 80-acre estate near Rock Hill, SC to collect it. I trailered it to my second residence in Augusta, GA in late April 2017. During a trip home to NY over the Memorial Day weekend, I learned from the officials at DMV that the seller (D. Crocker) had signed the title paperwork on "the wrong line". I left DMV dejected with no simply way to get it registered to use down south while working away from home for a year. I mailed the title to the seller to correct the paperwork error, or for him to apply for a new title to do the transfer paperwork task correctly for me.
With that issue finally resolved and with complete paperwork in hand, I had fulfilled the contract in GA was again unemployed... I packed up and relocated myself with the V-Max in tow on my dedicated motorcycle trailer to upstate New York in July 2017 where my wife and sons live in my primary residence. This V-Max had been stored at a cabin in the Smokey Mountains and was last registered in 2010. I have not yet registered it in New York and am waiting until spring 2018.
It is just satisfying to know that I own one (again) and that it is in my garage.
I get enough of a thrill just starting it on occasion, letting it warm up, and blipping the throttle to hear it rumble and come to life. I will not be inclined to sell this V-Max regardless of my employment status. So I say... my wife wants it gone and the money back in the bank, of course.
My 1994 V-Max had been customized by the previous owner (collector of 17 motorcycles located in Cincinnati, OH who had a heart attack, fell down and sustained a brain injury that after 2 years of therapy still could not fully use his left hand so he also sold his collection). Those upgrades included Koni rear suspension, progressive springs in the front shocks, Two Brothers carbon fiber exhaust, etc.
What memorable features did your V-Max have?
