I follow all these rules with one extra step that I think is critically important. Whether it is base coat, structure clear gel, top coat, or gel polish. I never flood or allow these products to touch the edges around or on the cuticles. I notice that you mention thin layers, but just as equally important, avoid at all cost touching or flooding the cuticle area.
I use C CARE Cuticle Oil and Hempz Body Lotion in Sandalwood and Apple to help keep my hands and cuticles in tip top condition.

I've recently started doing my own builder gel. I went from saying no way I will never do a gel manicure, I like natural nails, I don't want damage etc. to feeling like I've found the best solution. Because I don't really have to take the builder gel off. I've been watching a million infill videos and all I really need to do is as you did there, file it right down, prep the grow out and then paint more builder gel on. And I'm glad my vast regular polish collection won't go to waste because it works so well on top of the builder gel and barely chips. Hurrah. Hopefully less broke nails now.

Thank you for all your great advice. I also use sunscreen on my fingers and tips before nail prepping for some extra protection.

I used to wear gel manicures but constantly bad lifting due to my flexible nails....recently received gel colors in PR from madam glam and am hesitant to use it due to my experience before. Plus removal is a bear ...I definitely need to try them again though....kinda miss it

Great tips, Amanda--thanks! I store my UV gloves in my uv lamp--it reminds me to put them on. What are the products you use that you mentioned that only require the 30 second cure?? Thanks!

I know you're going to get this question, but what polish do you have on your nails? I LOVE the bright pink. Great video!

Didn't you do a video on soaking your nails in a bowl of acetone? So you don't recommend that anymore?

Yes I did! I used that method for years - and it still works perfectly fine. I just found an easier, more efficient way with the clips ◡̈

Since when did the word "important " become "imporant"??
