OSAKA, JAPAN - Welcome to Osaka, one of the food capitals of Japan and known for their amazing Japanese street food. Today I’ll be taking you to eat at 5 places that serve legendary Japanese street food!
Nonkiya (のんきや maps.app.goo.g...) - We’re beginning this tour today with a standing bar that specializes in both oden as well as skewers of tendon simmered in miso sauce. It was delicious and a great heritage restaurant. Price - 1,420 JPY ($8.83)
Matsuya (立ち食いうどんそば 松屋 maps.app.goo.g...) - Right next to Nonkiya, you’ll find Matsuya, a standing noodle bar that serves signature Osaka style udon noodles with sweet bean curd. There’s no seating, so you jump in, order, and stand to eat. This is real deal Japanese fast food. Price - 250 JPY ($1.55) per bowl
Tengu (てんぐ maps.app.goo.g... ) - One of the quintessential Japanese foods of Osaka is called kushikatsu, an assortment of ingredients on skewered, breaded and deep fried. With some beer, things couldn’t be better. Price - 8,420 JPY ($52.35) for 5 people
Hanadako (はなだこ maps.app.goo.g...) - When it comes to Osaka street food, nothing is more famous or more popular than takoyaki, octopus batter balls. And ask locals where to eat the best takoyaki in Osaka, and many will point you to Hanadako. Price - 860 JPY ($5.35) for my plate
Izakaya Toyo (居酒屋とよ maps.app.goo.g...) - Finally, there was no where else I was more excited to visit on this Japanese food tour in Osaka than Izakaya Toyo, where Mr. Toyo is legendary for his blow torched tuna cheek that he cooks with his bare hands! Price - 8,500 JPY ($52.85) for everything
When you’re in Osaka, you have a lot of delicious food to try, but don’t miss these 5 classic foods!

To think that Mark is shooting and editing content by himself and still producing quality content is amazing. A lot of food vlogger records things of them shoving food in their mouths and call it a day but Mark's videos are so much more. Thank you for bringing us along on your travels!

Japan always been one of my favorites for culinary treasures especially Osaka for having a foodie culture. Every location looks outstanding but Toyo-San was for sure one of my favorites for the personality, choice of protein, & enrichment. This tour is going to be a homerun hit from the gates!! That takoyaki place is a gem! I stayed at a hotel near that takoyaki place when I visited Osaka last year. I walked past that takoyaki place once, saw there was a long queue, wondered what that was, so back in my hotel room, I googled for that place and found out it is one of the top recommended takoyaki place in Osaka. Went there the next day and their takoyaki did not disappoint. Near that area there is a small bakery that sells different flavours of anpan. Highly recommend that area instead of crowding around Dotonburi.

Many kushikatsu bars offer doteyaki as well as kushikatsu. Doteyaki is served quickly, so some people enjoy eating it drinking beer while waiting for their kushikatsu to be served. I am one of those people. I think that Osaka's beef kushikatsu is one of the unique food cultures of Osaka. I enjoyed your great video.

Tempora It is one of the best-known traditional dishes in Japanese cuisine. It is of Portuguese origin, and very popular in Portugal. It is a frying of fish, seafood or vegetables dipped in a thin and delicate batter* prepared with ice water.
