    The compressors and EQs on the MV with in the MFX and the Mastering Sweet are top notch. I’ve had one since 07’ and I can’t achieve that same punch and low end on anything else. I’ve been on Studio One, FL, Ableton, and Logic….can’t get that punch. I run beats I made on a DAW through the MV

    Just a couple of items concerning the MV that were missed. Sequencer: The MV can switch between linear and pattern based sequencing by pressing the PATTERN button on the front panel at any time. At that point, you can string together pattern sequences into making a song just like the MPC. Pads: The MV pads also support after-touch as well as the MPC.
    In addition, concerning the sound of the newer MPCs such as the MPC X: there's an emulation mode that you can set for the audio output to vintage MPC60 or MPC3000 as examples. You can also change the sampling bit depth to get that grittier feel for lower bit resolution.

Select CREATE A NEW PROGRAM and your chops will automatically be spread out across the pads. It doesn't have the level of detail as the MV 8000/8800, but it's there.

    The 4000 is one of the best MPCs because Roland was on their ASS! 🤣 I wish they were still in the MPC-competition game because Akai has taken their time on a LOT of user requests for no reason other than complacency. They moved fast to make standalone units as a response to Maschine, but now that they have no serious competition they've slowed down the innovation.

    @1Tekneek Thanks for a great comparison. This is truly one of the best comparisons on You Tube with regards to the breakdown and information on two instruments. I may be biased as I'm into drum pad sampling workstations but I really like how you broke down everything and gave the reasons for your opinions. I've never used either of these machines but in the close ups of the screens and the menus I understood the 4000 more, maybe because I use old MPC machines. More than likely the 4000 would suit me more but the MV is impressive even today and would be a great alternative to the MPC X if the budget is tight and an all in one machine is needed.
    Great stuff King. Subbed.

    mpc4000 has no low-end. sound wise the mv8800 is way ahead and the mpc4000 basically sounds like a computer, cold and brittle, whereas the Roland MV8800 sounds warm. pitch/transposition is fantastic on both. You can make tape like effects with the pitch+lfo on both machines. There other ways the MPC4000 is ahead on the Mv8800 but sound is not one of them and also the filters on the MPC4000 are just shrill and awful and the envelopes are not analog sound at all, far too linear and so sounds don't sustain and gradually shrink away, they just die off.

And ease of use is a matter of taste for the reason that you are used to the MPС.In addition, the native CD drive(MV) is actually a DVD drive and it reads DVD discs very quickly and easily.And it also works great with 1 GB instead of the maximum 512 RAM.In addition, with a connected monitor and mouse, functionality and convenience increase

    • @1Tekneek
      @1Tekneek  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your comment!! The best way I can explain it is, the MV is a all in one box, you would never need any outside gear to complete a full song start to finish. The sampling and chopping is more detailed in the MV and that that’s a good thing. The MPC has a great sequencer to compose your songs format as a instrumental, it lacks audio tracks for vocals, on fly warping features for live performances or fast bending to a projects tempo. It’s kinda night and day but the MPC is great and has a fast workflow to compose instrumentals.

      @@gaarakabuto1 you're missing the point. It was not a "mixing/mastering workstation", Roland had the VS series for that. It was for all intents and purposes a better MPC. It's what pushed Akai to make the 4000, but even coming out 2 years after, the 4000 still lacked features the MV had.

    If its still relevant. While chopping on the 4k you basically have the amount of region to choose of which start and endpoints you can then manipulate. There is no "manual" chopping mode but you can do it in a way it was done in the older s-series samplers. What you did in your trim window you scrolled to desired start and end points and then extract that piece rather than discard rest of the sample.

      Thank you for your comment! I feel the same way bout the workflow on the MPC. That simple, classic but effective sequencing makes the MPC is top notch for workflow. The only area I would say that has a faster workflow on the MV is in sampling, chopping, warping, assigning and applying to a patch (program) The MV has more features and fast to access then the MPC in that area.

    • @shadowlaw9265
      @shadowlaw9265 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The MV is x10 faster than the 4000 in chopping sampling material.
      The MV sounds also x10 better than the 4000 that sounds like ass in comparaison.
      MV can be quicker far than the 4000.
      Only the 2500 and 1000 with JJOS can be as quick as the MV.
      But you need to know the unit well this beast is full of tricks.

    • @lionelluney3063
      @lionelluney3063 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mv8800 outside the initial load times is actually just as fast as the 4k you join st have to know your way around. If you use to the fantom or xp keyboard layout and sound engine structure you move faster on the MV. If you coming from the Linn MPCs you move quicker out the gate with the 4 . The 8 also has some sequencing tricks that speed things up like if you copy a pattern and just mut what you don't want one one or the other when you line them up in song mode the mutes will go in and out so you don't have to go through the whole delete or copying one track at a time . Also has alot of different ways to get to the same point.

    Mv 8000 is hundreed time better than mpc!!! Only one thing on the mv is not perfect is time to load
    I own a mpc5000,1000with jjos,500 and mv8000
    The important point who made me to kick out my mpc and my cpu from my studio is :
    -mv8000 had different time signature for each track
    -mpc had only one time signature for each track from a sequence
    -Mv write song in grid mode (best point for me!!!)
    -mpc write song in event list ,this way to doe is really not intuitiv way to doe and need to write on paper how to organise your song!!!
    -in live set Mv can play all patern (sequence for mpc) together
    -mpc can play only one sequence
    -mv had 16 banck of 16pads of patern or sequence when you play live
    -mpc can play only one sequence at once
    -mv had 16 banck of 16pads of track for playing live in patern mode
    -MPC had 4banck or 6 max for the mpcX
    So finally for me the mv is like you have one mpc5000 (i speack about the 5000 because is the one i own and perfectly knowing)under each pad
    - when you had a midi home studio mpc had manny trouble for the clock in slave mode , the mv stay stable like a rock in master or slave
    And for finish , if you had a midi home studio , owning a MV change totally the way to thinking your studio a mv transfofm your midi studio in only one gear with the possibility to build a patern with the sound of all your gear in the same patern!!!
    MPC just can't , mpc are just another master midi seqencer but didn't transform your studio and your way to think of creating music
    For all this reason mv are a billion time better than mpc!!!! And manny more like the template possibility for had different groove from the same sequence
    Just the load time are long on the mv is the only thing i can tell who is bad for MV

      First of all using Illogical fallacies and feminine type statement swill not make me leave, will make me laugh. Those girlie tactics are trying to imply someone is 'upset' and saying something so infantile about the length of a message are laughable. I have no reason to be 'upset' and you're making it all up, even though it has no basis in fact.
      I have been around both machines, one my friend has an showed me how it works, and I own the Roland, and that's called practical experience. There is NO discernable fake 'beefs' with any other brand community in existence from any other brand, nor with YT female producers/artists, which speaks for itself. I never have and will never be upset over an inanimate object/tool to make music. I have 4 different samplers from different brands, and in the real world outside of YT, intelligent people do not squabble and gossip about who uses what.
      One of my friends who has the 4000 and another Akai, a documented 30+ year experience in performing around the world, was more than fine with sharing ideas about our samplers...
      Next, just because someone writes more than you does not mean it's not based on facts, evidence, nor dilutes the message. So by that mindset, if you write a response of 50 words and someone writes 40 words, then the 50 word message becomes untrue? I know things get compared, yet that does not change the FACT those two machines have two different intentions. The MV ultimately was made to be a WHOLE studio in a box, from getting the sounds to mastering to burning a Red Book CD, for distribution marketing, or simply to play out in a club.
      Now If you are going to cry again because my message is longer than yours, too bad because just like you write, I have the same right. If you get bent out of shape and want to use girlie tactics that have nothing to do with the actual subject, feel free to entertain me with that nonsense. Most of these machines on YT, including computers, cameras, etc, get compared so much until I cannot see a YT page without a comparison video , Mac Vs PC is only a thing online, yet pops up frequently as if either one matters, when it's the same endgame. All that is what children do, like when you compare ice cream cones by the Mister Softie truck.
      I can use whatever, and fact is, i have my eye on the Isla 2400, Akai MPC Key 61, the Akai S6000, and another ASR10 if I can find a good price. Oh and if this is too long, you do not have to keep trying to chatter back. This is a public forum, and I write what I feel like just like you do..I spend time watching and you spend time making them, so what's actually your point? duhhh...
