Infiniti have some of the best looking cars exteriorly. So beautiful and artistic flow. I just don’t understand why they would put a CVT in one. Interior is beautiful on this model. Just need some update on the tech/ infotainment. I’m really looking forward to the future of Infiniti. I know they’re not doing great right now but I still have hope. I love my Q50 3.7

INFINITI sales are literally nonexistent now. They are in serious danger of going out of business completely. INFINITI dealerships are already starting to go under. I wouldn’t buy any car especially this one if there is a risk of not having a dedicated dealership to maintain and repair it.
Mohammad Nsr hello, yes The 2020 QX50 is fantastic and I am really liking it so far. I am looking forward to the winter as I live in a cold weather climate and my job takes me to remote areas of Canada, so the AWD will be important. The acceleration and 268 horsepower is outstanding!

@@karlsandin4515 The transmission is from the G37. I have a Q50S and while the trans is better than the G37 due to programming, it is the same unit. I had a G37 and the trans was sloppy. Its better in my Q50S. The only infiniti that ever had a dct was the QX30 which they discontinued. That car was technically a rebadged Mercedes GLA 250 and it used the Mercedes 7 speed dct.
The fact that these aren't selling gives me reason to believe they're going to have huge discounts off of their 60k MSRP. With that being said the only drawback is the CVT. If you like it, get it with the huge discounts, drive it for 3 years while the warranty is valid then trade it in.

So many people don’t understand that a CVT is actually the single best transmission for performance. A CVT can peg the rpms at the max horsepower and then adjust the gears to maintain that rpm. If a CVT could handle more power and torque then all of the fastest supercars would have a CVT if they wanted the absolute max performance. The issue is that a CVT can’t handle very high torque and horsepower.
They can’t which is why they’re generally slower than the competition. Imo, no luxury car should have one. People spending that kind of $$ are looking for a great driving experience on top of features and styling, and CVTs don’t do that. Bc if you want a luxury sedan, you’re gonna want some sort of a turbo/supercharge, and those work best with more HP and CVTs aren’t the best with that, and if you want a CUV/SUV like this one, you’re gonna want the 2.0T or a bigger turbo charged V6 or V8 depending on the size of the car, and CVTs don’t work well with the larger engines. While I’m not a fan of the transmission, I do see why they’re in 2 liter naturally aspirated engines in normal cars and even Honda’s 1.5T in the civic and accords that don’t have the 2.0T, but for cars going for better performance and driving experience, which all luxury cars should go for the experience definitely if not both even in the larger ones, CVTs aren’t the answer. There’s a reason Honda has the 2.0T accord with the 10 speed... because they know that for true performance, CVTs don’t work just like you said bc of the horsepower and torque
I don't know about the QX50, but I have a 14 Q50 AWD with 95K miles that was supposedly "unreliable" and I have yet to have a single issue. I have done brakes and new tires, wiper blades. Basically maintenance done on any car. Nothing else. No rattles. V6 is an absolute beast. Love it.
Car shopping right now. Currently drive an ‘07 Chevy Silverado. Great vehicle, but I don’t use the truck portion of my truck. haha So looking at compact/mid-size SUVs. Binge watching your videos has helped a lot! I go by the criteria of no more than 3 Zonks. haha Really appreciate you going into so much detail and speaking so eloquently!

It looks good from every angel, I absolutely love the color combinations and that few over the hood with those bodacious bulges are gorgeous!! That interior is amazing with all those exotic materials very far from Nissan's trash can Inspired interiors LOL, only thing is I'm kind of worried about how the blue alcantara is going to ware over time on that arm rest , and also I wish they could have incorporated some of the wood trim or blue alcantara onto the steering wheel !! But those are my only zonks!!

At this current market were almost all luxury car dealers are marking up their compact SUV above MSRP. The 2021 Infiniti QX50 Luxe with Appearance Package can be lease for $432 a month including taxes in LA county with 2K Drive off. They were giving us 14% discount which unheard of at this current market, maybe because we are a repeat customer and have owned 4 Infinitis. My wife and I were shopping around SoCal from Acura RDX, Lexus NX/RX, BMW X3 and Audi Q5 to replace our 2020 Infiniti QX50 Essential and all of them are 600+ a month to lease with 3k plus Drive off. We ended up traded in our 2020 QX50 for the 2021 QX50 Luxe with Appearance Package in Majestic White exterior for $432 a month lease including taxes.
To much money for a Nissan. No way doesn't it compare to a Q5 , X5 or Benz GLC. Have Infiniti stick to it's competition (Honda, Toyota and themselves..))

Was going to get this car car then i saw a infiniti QX50 barley rear end another car at 5 mph no physical damage and then the inifiti caught fire.Got a cx-9 instead.
I love the INFINITI QX50. I think it’s gorgeous inside and out. The only reason I wouldn’t buy it is because of the infotainment system. INFINITI should just scrap that infotainment and design a new one! Same with the rest of the INFINITIs. I love them. Design is gorgeous inside and out on all of them. I just can’t stand that infotainment system. And don’t get me started on the CVT haha. Great video as always!

@@tRiNiDrAmA1 unreliable, crappy sound and ruins the driving dynamics of luxury cars. CVT is usually just for economic compact vehicles so people don't really care. But in a luxury brand like Infiniti that's unacceptable
tRiNi8179 basically it’s a transmission without gears. So when you hit the gas it doesn’t shift it just keeps the revs up and moves kind of annoying in my opinion. But if you drive normally (I don’t I always floorit) you chat really tell. Like Subaru makes a really good CVT. Nissan and INFINITI CVTS arnt that good. Hope this helped!
We own 2019 QX60. We purchased using Costco auto program. Fully loaded V6 engine with Costco auto program the price dropped $55k instead of $65k. We love ours and it doesn't disappoint.
My best friend has a 18 2 series. Do you have a lot of money for repairs? They are nice cars, but when stuff breaks just make sure you have plenty for repairs. I owned a 09 3 series and i vowed to never own another one. Not that it wasn't a cool and fun car, but it seemed every other day my dash was lighting up and you take it is an they are like "yeah that part is 3800 dollars".. If you have plenty of money for repairs they are fun.
If your just a casual buyer and not really a car guy I’d stay away. There amazing cars but expensive to repair, you MUST do preventive maintenance to avoid big bills. If you know your way around cars you’ll save a lot of money. They drive amazing tho!
I'm sorry, the QX50 is just a zonk in general. In competition with the XC60, X3, Q5, RDX, - it just falls so short. Infiniti as a brand is fading, it desperately needs some new inspiration. Volvo was in the same spot before Geely took over, and look what they have done with their new lineups.

Alfa stelvio, Acura RDX, BMW X3m40i glc43 those cars screams a better Dynamics, experience, performance, and looks.. compared to this one. Infiniti and Nissan has been nothing but a shit hole last 6-7 years. All they do is release concept vehicles but never execute them into production.
Well it doesn’t start at 60 grand, but for that price tag, I would’ve liked to see a regular transmission here. Even adding the Q50 engine wouldn’t have done any harm. Nonetheless I think it’s a decent luxury suv
Amari with a 37-38k starting msrp, its alright for the base model. But still u have almost 23k worth of upgrades but still the same Vc turbo and cvt, just doesnt go well... I agree the 3.0t from q50 wouldve been sweet. I miss the old gen with the N/A 3.7 in the qx50.

Brown dash, steering wheel and door trim is that a Japanese and South Korean thing ?My Hyundai Santa Fe same color blue also has the dark brown dash and trim, in fact every color S-Fe has it.
this QX50 everything is great, only two things, CVT and engine sound, if they can change these two things, they will sell more, but unfortunately, Infiniti won't listen.

Weve had this vehicle 2 years now. Put 35k miles and nothing has gone wrong....with that said, it drives like a boat, suspension never settles, initial acceleration lags, infotainment it's ok actually but can also be laggy, interior is very usable even the feet area especially compare to the audi q5 that we previously had...I'dscore it 7.2/10
I test drove the QX50 and I have to agree the CVT was not delivering optimal driving experience (sometimes too buzzy). Unfortunately a dealbreaker for me while shopping in luxury compact suv segment.

A lot of people are treating this as just another 4 cylinder engine. It is actually quite a powerful turbo 2.0 liter engine. 268 HP and 280 lb ft from a 2.0 liter engine is quite good. In addition the CVT actually makes it faster than a traditional transmission. The issue is just simply that people won’t buy ANYTHING with a CVT because of the past reliability issues. The price is also outrageous for what this vehicle is. However, there are massive discounts on this vehicle now so MSRP isn’t realistic to judge it by.
mpgxsvcd I would disagree on the CVT making this faster than a conventional transmission and here’s why. CVTs just have a hard time handling and horsepower and torque over 200 and 220 respectively. The transmission is better for smaller engines and vehicles, and when you put it in a larger one, it becomes overworked and 1) breaks often and 2) can’t allow the horsepower and torque to maximize their potential
Ethan Doud the Fastest a car can theoretically accelerate is if its engine runs at the rpm that produces its maximum horsepower. The CVT does this and varies the gear ratios so that it maintains maximum torque to the wheels the entire time. Now of course the CVT is limited in what engines it can be used on without breaking it. However, in any vehicle that can utilize a CVT without damaging it the CVT will be capable of producing the fastest acceleration possible for that particular engine and vehicle as long as the CVT can provide the full range of ratios that are necessary. Most people don’t understand that a CVT is the ideal transmission for both fuel economy AND performance.

60k? Wouldn’t that get you a X3 M from BMW? That would seem like the much better all around option for that much money.

We ended up traded in our 2020 QX50 for the 2021 QX50 Luxe with Appearance Package in Majestic White exterior for $432 a month lease including taxes.
Infiniti is a dying brand, not many redesigns, just cheap refreshes, look at the QX80.
It is going to be interesting to see what happens.

Was going to get this car car then i saw a infiniti QX50 barley rear end another car at 5 mph no physical damage and then the inifiti caught fire.Got a cx-9 instead.

I love the INFINITI QX50. I think it’s gorgeous inside and out. The only reason I wouldn’t buy it is because of the infotainment system. INFINITI should just scrap that infotainment and design a new one! Same with the rest of the INFINITIs. I love them. Design is gorgeous inside and out on all of them. I just can’t stand that infotainment system. And don’t get me started on the CVT haha. Great video as always!
Right! I was really hoping to grab one of these this year but that price tag, infotainment and CVT transmission ruined it big time for me. Sucks cause I really loved the exterior and interior design on this

@@tRiNiDrAmA1 unreliable, crappy sound and ruins the driving dynamics of luxury cars. CVT is usually just for economic compact vehicles so people don't really care. But in a luxury brand like Infiniti that's unacceptable
tRiNi8179 basically it’s a transmission without gears. So when you hit the gas it doesn’t shift it just keeps the revs up and moves kind of annoying in my opinion. But if you drive normally (I don’t I always floorit) you chat really tell. Like Subaru makes a really good CVT. Nissan and INFINITI CVTS arnt that good. Hope this helped!
We own 2019 QX60. We purchased using Costco auto program. Fully loaded V6 engine with Costco auto program the price dropped $55k instead of $65k. We love ours and it doesn't disappoint.

My best friend has a 18 2 series. Do you have a lot of money for repairs? They are nice cars, but when stuff breaks just make sure you have plenty for repairs. I owned a 09 3 series and i vowed to never own another one. Not that it wasn't a cool and fun car, but it seemed every other day my dash was lighting up and you take it is an they are like "yeah that part is 3800 dollars".. If you have plenty of money for repairs they are fun.

If your just a casual buyer and not really a car guy I’d stay away. There amazing cars but expensive to repair, you MUST do preventive maintenance to avoid big bills. If you know your way around cars you’ll save a lot of money. They drive amazing tho!

I'm sorry, the QX50 is just a zonk in general. In competition with the XC60, X3, Q5, RDX, - it just falls so short. Infiniti as a brand is fading, it desperately needs some new inspiration. Volvo was in the same spot before Geely took over, and look what they have done with their new lineups.
Nice looking for its class/ i was looking for an suv to replace my G37 / the qx50 got pricey quick The CVT was a letdown and the engine was noisy .The QX60 has a much better ride. I think the end is near for Infiniti

those cars screams a better Dynamics, experience, performance, and looks.. compared to this one. Infiniti and Nissan has been nothing but a shit hole last 6-7 years. All they do is release concept vehicles but never execute them into production.
Well it doesn’t start at 60 grand, but for that price tag, I would’ve liked to see a regular transmission here. Even adding the Q50 engine wouldn’t have done any harm. Nonetheless I think it’s a decent luxury suv

Brown dash, steering wheel and door trim is that a Japanese and South Korean thing ?My Hyundai Santa Fe same color blue also has the dark brown dash and trim, in fact every color S-Fe has it.

this QX50 everything is great, only two things, CVT and engine sound, if they can change these two things, they will sell more, but unfortunately, Infiniti won't listen.
It sure looks good,but the sound this makes when you push it is very uninspiring, and a cvt is ok for a Nissan rogue not for this. What were they thinking??
Weve had this vehicle 2 years now. Put 35k miles and nothing has gone wrong....with that said, it drives like a boat, suspension never settles, initial acceleration lags, infotainment it's ok actually but can also be laggy, interior is very usable even the feet area especially compare to the audi q5 that we previously had...I'dscore it 7.2/10
I test drove the QX50 and I have to agree the CVT was not delivering optimal driving experience (sometimes too buzzy). Unfortunately a dealbreaker for me while shopping in luxury compact suv segment.

A lot of people are treating this as just another 4 cylinder engine. It is actually quite a powerful turbo 2.0 liter engine. 268 HP and 280 lb ft from a 2.0 liter engine is quite good. In addition the CVT actually makes it faster than a traditional transmission. The issue is just simply that people won’t buy ANYTHING with a CVT because of the past reliability issues. The price is also outrageous for what this vehicle is. However, there are massive discounts on this vehicle now so MSRP isn’t realistic to judge it by.
mpgxsvcd I would disagree on the CVT making this faster than a conventional transmission and here’s why. CVTs just have a hard time handling and horsepower and torque over 200 and 220 respectively. The transmission is better for smaller engines and vehicles, and when you put it in a larger one, it becomes overworked and 1) breaks often and 2) can’t allow the horsepower and torque to maximize their potential
Ethan Doud the Fastest a car can theoretically accelerate is if its engine runs at the rpm that produces its maximum horsepower. The CVT does this and varies the gear ratios so that it maintains maximum torque to the wheels the entire time.
Now of course the CVT is limited in what engines it can be used on without breaking it. However, in any vehicle that can utilize a CVT without damaging it the CVT will be capable of producing the fastest acceleration possible for that particular engine and vehicle as long as the CVT can provide the full range of ratios that are necessary.
Most people don’t understand that a CVT is the ideal transmission for both fuel economy AND performance.
