    the criticism on the Acura touchpad is so exaggerated. you have to be really inept to not understand how to use and get used to it to where its pretty fluid. Jodi made it seem like rocket science😂😂

      like aykm infiniti's infotainment is 10 years too late, the transmission feels/sounds terrible plus they nickle and dime you for options as if they were a German brand or something while Acura is coming through with those things standard like a pano-roof. I agree Infiniti could have had something really good on their hands if they didn't cheap out on proportionally dated interior tech and a lackluster/noisy CVT but🤷🏻‍♂️.. and could they be bothered to come up with a new key fob that's not shared with a 2006 Altima ? this is coming from someone whose owned a G35 & 37..

      I can't stand their quips about the sensors or navigation. Infiniti doesn't even come with apple car play. Heck, it has the shittiest infotainment for the price they are asking. Brakes are fine on the RDX. i drove it found they are like every other SUV spongy at times but assertive on stops .

    Weird. I own a 19 RDX A-Spec and I've never thought once that the driver assistance is annoying or that it yells at me like you guys say. I also have my settings for warning set on normal so perhaps you guys just have it set on the most sensitive mode of the 3 options. And as far as the interior goes, I think it's great. I came from a Audi A4 and I think the interior easily competes. Also the infotainment screen is great and didn't take any time to learn. Just think you guys are being a bit dramatic on the reviews trying to be funny. Craig is still my #1 boo. I did check out the Infiniti also before buying but they lost me with that old tech inside there with the two screens.

      That's great. I would really like to get an RDX but I'm not sure if it is big enough for my family. I'm hoping Acura is going to carryover much of what's in the new RDX to the next Gen MDX

I too find all the warning systems totally overstimulating, and I don't need a crossover to feel sporty and aggressive. You two are great!

  • @joestuff8
    @joestuff8 5 ปีที่แล้ว +26

    The interior of the Acura is stunning. It's bold and different. Heavy emphasis in *DIFFERENT*. I personally enjoy how the dash, center console and doors seem to "wrap" around you, that good good cockpit feel. Not a fan of crossovers, but the "front interior" of the RDX is more sporty, while still having a very upscale premium look✔

    Obviously, the reviewers are entitled to their opinions, but I do feel they were not fair in their comparison of the vehicles. Watching it, you could feel instantly they didn't feel the RDX. And that's fine, but it felt like more nitpicking of negatives of the RDX, instead of actually comparing the vehicles features head to head. I noticed that y'all were mentioning how good the audio on the Infiniti, but never mentioned how it was on the RDX (which many other reviewers have raved about). And there has been much criticism about the infotainment of the Infiniti, with its 2 screen functions just like how Honda's products were criticized, but you seem to make excuses for it. Both products have their strengths, and neither are perfect, but if you are going to do a comparison, actually compare feature to feature.

    This has to be the most inaccurate comparison I have ever encountered. Yes, it does look like Infinity paid for this review. If you are going to review please be honest. I have driven the Acura 2019 for 7 months and never did it ever scream at me about my driving. I dont drive slow mostly high speed highway
    and only once did the car warn me to stop. Lane keeping assist warned me several times but all time I WAS out of my lane. I am assuming you two need a new driving test because something is lacking here with your driving. You never mentioned the sound system because Acura's is better. As for the touchpad. It took about a day to learn it and after customizing it I just dont take my eyes off the road. I have had three cars with touchpads and had to look down every time. If you are going to review auto's, please be honest. As for the brakes I thought they were mushy the first time I drove it but they're actually really good after driving more than a couple of hours. Like anything on a vehicle you drive everyday you and the car become one. The infinity CVT engine is the worse in a luxury car. All i can say is...drive the Infinity then drive the Acura and i mean more than just a block around the dealership and
    the Acura will come out as best. Unless you just drive your car to pick up groceries as mentioned in this interview. Really inaccurate review.

    What a lackluster review. Normally i'd agree with their criticism but not with this comparison. I had an RDX A-SPEC SH-AWD as a loaner while getting maintenance done on my car. It drove fantastic and the infotainment took all of 5 min to get used to. The sound system was incredible as well. I will have to agree about the sensitivity of the "Acura Watch" though. It kept beeping at me to brake even if i wasn't close to anyone. I used to own an infiniti Q50 with the same infotainment as the QX50. It looked EXTREMELY outdated when it first came out in 2014. Looks even worse now. Acuras cabin is MUCH nicer than the infiniti. the fit and finish is a step above.

The Infiniti looks like a REAL luxury car vs the Acura looks like an upgraded HONDA. Nissan/Infiniti CLEARLY did a better job with this car. 5:00 100%, wrong settings. I work for a Honda dealer and there are 3 sensitivity settings for both Collision Mitigation and Road Departure. Narrow/Short is WAY too invasive. Normal is normal, and wide/long says almost nothing. To address the parking sensors though, they are intrusive. Same problem in the Accord. However, it's as simple as 1 button press if you're not parking to turn them off. It's to the left of the steering wheel clearly seen at 2:57 ; bottom row, 2nd button from right.

    Hey Sami and Jodi, you’re wrong about the RDX’s trackpad, this is not Lexus! The trackpad is not used as scrolling with cursor just like it is on laptops, the trackpad is mapped one-to-one positioning, meaning wherever you touch on the trackpad is where you would touch on screen. For example, if you want to select the top left portion of the screen, then basically touch the top left portion of the touchpad. Just basically treat the trackpad as the touchscreen of the infotainment! Acura did this for the purpose to benchmark Lexus so that the trackpad is easy to use and takes less attention off the road as opposed to Lexus

    It seemed to me that these two people are very difficult to please with some specific (often very personal) expectations. I drive a Qx50 and I've found it to be perfect. But I loved what I saw with Acura RDX when I took a test drive. Didn't find anything problematic with the dash and screen operation while driving.

  • @dj_e1028
    @dj_e1028 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Having test driven both and as an Infiniti owner, this is way off. The driving experience of the QX50 is a complete deal breaker. The engine / CVT are raspy, loud, and the car sounds like it is constantly working way too hard to do anything. The interior is copied and pasted from the Q50, until you get up to the Essential with the quilted leather. The Acura feels more roomy, is more comfortable, and drives much better. I'm not a big fan of the trackpad, but it took all of 5 minutes to get comfortable with and while not as easy as a touchscreen, is 1000x better than the Lexus floating mouse pad.

    I have the RDX and trackpad is very easy to use, not an issue for me at all. These reviewers are either exaggerating or legitimately too stupid to use a trackpad... And the start-stop only works when you turn off the AC/heater since it needs the engine to power the battery to power the AC... what a lousy review

    I purchased a 2020 RDX Tec SHAWD about a month ago. The touch pad does take some practice so I spent a few hours on TH-cam getting information from the many videos and it is very easy to use once I figured it out. With the RDX you just turn off the beep and leave the warring lights on and you get the information you need and avoid all the noise. The Gas millage is about 1 mile per gallon better that they stated and what Acura advertises not too great at 24 over all.
    I did drive the Infinity Qx50 and was underwhelmed with the outdated 2 screens and the handling. The interior does seem a little nicer but; the seats are not as comfortable. The Infinity is a nice for millage because it is a little slower. Acura is 0-60 is 6.4 sec Infinity is 7.6 seconds.
    The sound system in the Infinity is far worse than the Acura. Here again the the driver needs to set up the sound to what you like (like the infotainment system.
    The Infinity is about $5000 more in the Minneapolis market. The extra money does get you better fuel economy that does sacrifice performance. Drive both and play around with them to see what works best.

    what's with the comments? the review is actually fairly accurate. I've driven both cars and I tend to agree with some of what they're saying. the lack of touch screen and brakes with no initial bite are two big negatives of the RDX. If you've really driven it, you will know what they're talking about. Didnt find the safety features too intrusive though.
    the QX50 is a more complete package. Again, if you have really driven these two cars, you'll have to agree with that as well. QX50 does have its own flaws, they said it too in the review. I had the biggest problem with the first 3 seconds of every accerleration of the QX50; the VC turbo and CVT are just not working perfectly, but once it gets going, it's actually quick.
    The RDX does have more sophisticated AWD system compared to QX50.
    and both have good audio systems - they should have mentioned the ELS studio of the RDX, as it even has speakers in the headliner.
    so i guess they just didn't say some of the good stuff of RDX.
    but overall, if i had to choose one, i'd choose QX50.

    Oh and for all you Acura whinny people below, they give just as much bad on the Infinity.. in the end it won because oh ya it's a luxury cross over SUV.
    Not something that looks like a RAV4 or any other sport SUV..
    Acura big problem is it's massive identity crises out and especially inside as they pointed out by the spaceship cluster center console...
    In simple stop comparing Acura in the luxury market.. it's not.
