      The meteor sparked a fire that made him feel useless though. It was just by chance that he found Piandao and decided to take swordsmanship lessons from him, which then sparked his idea to make his sword out of the meteor.
      Unless Yue can see the future; which there's no evidence to say she can; your theory doesn't make sense. Almost everything in the episode happens by chance.
      There happens to be a meteor that falls close to team Avatar. They happen to put out the fire with bending making Sakka feel useless. They happen to find out that Piandao is a master swordsman and could train Sakka. They all convince Sakka to go train. Piandao then decided to let Sakka create his own sword, rather than gifting him one. And finally the meteor is not only still there after a week or two, but it's made out of an alloy that can be forged.
      That's a lot of coincidences that Yue would have to foresee and hope play out for her plan to work. Otherwise she just makes Sakka depressed.
      Say she did send the meteor. Look at the scenario like this.
      Yue sends meteor. It crashes and starts a fire. Sakka is pushed aside because he's useless. Sakka then enters a deep depression and stops being the funny plan guy. Yue's plan fails..
      This scenario is just as likely to have happened as the one that actually happened. In fact the only reason this scenario didn't happen is because this is a kids show and everything has to turn out ok for Sakka in the end. They HAVE to give Sakka his confidence back. He can't just be depressed and useless for the rest of the show.
      Yue didn't send the meteor to Sakka..

      yeah it really helped Sokka to lose a lot of his insecurities. To understand that humility is a strength, because it keeps you willing to learn and to make the best of what you have to learn. or rather, Piendao helped Sokka to learn humility when he only new humiliation. Sure Sokka got a cool sword for show (I actually dislike that part. i know it is a physical mark for his growth, but I think the episode would've been better without that. if Sokka just learned to accept himself without a physical mark) but what he truly got was a new outlook on himself and the world, understanding he is NOT inferior to his friends because he can't bend.

    I love the fact that the space sword represents Yue, while the boomerang represents Suki, and in the finally when he losses his space sword, and Toph asks if the boomerang came back and he says, "No, Suki did," is so amazing, and just goes to show how detailed and perfect this show is, and the character arcs are, and it demonstrates that Sokka has let go of Yue.

    • @kmbehrens14
      @kmbehrens14 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      He could've had children or gotten married; we just never see it/them on the show. I always think creators who carry on their story are wise not to pair up all their characters or give them children (especially not at the same time - I'm lookin' at you, Rowling). That's truer to life. Not everyone finds the right person to marry or is able to have children, even if they want to.
      As for Suyin, it's entirely possible - Toph and Sokka have some chemistry on the show and in the comics. I know when Korra first came out, people thought that Lin was Sokka's daughter, but the fact that she and Tenzin dated made that theory gross (they would have been cousins). I think that's why they worked her dad's name into the show.

    The natives from the island where I grew up, fought for France during both WW. After the second one, it took YEARS for France to take them home. They had to take part in a « travelling circus » and put on display, people paying to just see them. I said circus, but really it was a zoo, they were like animals in cages... and many died.

    This is honestly such a great and continuing debate in the art/ museum community. On one hand you can argue, it allows for more universality and more eyes to view, learn and accept it. On the other hand, more often than not, treasures are stolen from one place to be put on display somewhere else for profit. It’s always interesting and much more eye opening to hear both sides and learn the stories behind it.
