    I love the way you explain things in a clear and simple way. I've been a self-employed gardener for just 18 months and your videos have improved my knowledge and confidence to try new tasks. I have been asked to level lawns several times but, because I've never done one, I've shied away from it. I have a customer who wants me to quote on levelling her sons lawn, which is why I watched this particular video. Many thanks big man.

    I’ve followed pretty much all of your videos and gone from what looked like corn stubble to a deep green, soft lawn. Now I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of lawncare, I’m seeing how bumpy my lawn is. My question is; it seems in my case that it would be less work to “cut off” the tops of bumps rather that fill in the rest of the lawn. Is this something that can be done?

    • @Premier_lawns_official
      @Premier_lawns_official  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes of course. The lawn where this was filmed is very rocky and digging the high bits up would have been much more work than filling in the low areas

    One thing not yet mentioned is the fact that a dip in the soil might actually be a swale that is designed / intended to guide water away from structures and toward lower lying drainage areas. Filling a swale might result in water getting into the structure.

    I use half top soil half mason sand. First time I used only top soil with the rain it sunk some. I have Bermuda and it grows on anything. Some people are not a fan on using sand but in my case it worked perfectly. It leveled my lawn faster and grass grew without problems

    1: Urine is a very good and free lawn fertilizer. I saw it particularly when a hose broke on my urine spreader. A couple weeks later it looked like our tall grass was three times higher than the rest and a very dark green colour, so diluting it is key.
    2: If you have more of a meadow type lawn where you want ho preserve the biodiversity you can remove the top layer, fill in underneath and roll the top layer back. Or fill with very thin layers of soil over several years.

    Great video. I have a high spot in my lawn and to do it this way will raise my lawn height higher than the patio and it would take tonnes of soil. Can I dig out the high spot? I’ve also noticed that water collects in the low spots after heavy or prolonged rain. The high spot is fine. What can I do about these issues.

    • @Premier_lawns_official
      @Premier_lawns_official  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Digging out the high spot is probably your best bet, depending on how good the soil is, you could maybe use some of it to fill in the low areas. Ideally you want to use half decent soil in the low areas so the water can drain away
