There is a special spiral blade from Rio Grande to use for cutting plexiglass.

Elie - thank you SO much. What blade number would you use on your jeweler's saw on the 1/4" plexiglass

Hi Dawn, I don’t use a jeweler saw, I use a scroll saw, but you can try a jeweler saw with the thicker blade you have and after you finish you have to file or sand to remove the saw marks.

Great video, I remember when the hydraulic press came onto the jewelry making scene it was about 12 yrs ago. Boonie Doone was the only supplier man we all went nuts over it and then it disappeared but we made plates just like these in fact i still have mine. lol Thank you for such a awesome video in fact its kind of odd but i was looking for a video like this when i saw yours on one of the jewelry groups on fb ,

Hi, I was just wondering what size and hardness (durometer) of urethane you found to be the best for pressing with these dies? Or did you find it really didn't matter? Also did you just use a standard drill bit/drill press to start the holes in the plexiglass? Thank you vey much for sharing your knowledge, very truly appreciated! Bill

      Hi Bill,
The size I use is 3”x3”x1/2” with 95 D hardness don’t get any smaller than ¼” thickness, I got mine from Rio Grande. For the drill, any standard drill bit will do. Thanks
