I made pancake dies to cut the shape after forming and it works great. The book Hydraulic Forming for Jewelers and Metalsmiths explains the process
Thank You
You are welcome, Deb!
will 18g metal fit through the slot in the side where feed you metal in?
Yes.
What should be the minimum amount of "margin" left when sawing out a design?
+Mary Amburgey Hi Mary. the minimum amount of margin is dependent on how deep you want the form to be and the complexity of the shape. In general about 1/4 inch should suffice as a starting point. If you want a deeper form or if the shape is complex then you should increase the margin. A larger margin will allow more metal to be drawn into the shape and provide support to a more complex shape.
I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions please feel free to contact our Tech support team. They can be reached at Technical@riogrande.com or by calling 1-800-545-6566
